I’ve always meant to get a solar system set up, but haven’t got around to it. I just have a battery charger set up in the van so that whenever I’m plugged into 240V the charger is running and getting a good/full charge into the leisure battery. Seems to work well.

Jacobs ladder is pure rocks so will be fine. Probably going to be some slop around Mam Tor, particularly the descents down into Edale from Hollins Cross. This is always good at this time of year http://peakdistrictmtb.org/project/all-weather-route-peak-district-mtb/?fbclid=IwAR02ytipA70NHSjaHwgr9hXl0OJM1eXeeCMevyu10LJ9Ap3IbuiRzHCMXOY

I got some frog forks for my sons 24″ Giant that had stupidly heavy suspension garbage originally. You can’t buy direct but a frog dealer/lbs will be able to get them in for you, were about £30 and have be great.

We did some of those when the trails were like streams, couldn’t see what you were riding for the covering of white water, there was plenty of “shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!” going on that day. Can’t wait to go back in dry (or drier) conditions.

I’d recommend the race matrix, last ages for me.

Nicely put zilog, I was trying to write a reasonable response to those points and you got it spot on. I think it challenges the “normal” so people are bound to want to pick holes in it.

It definitely fills you up, I have it for lunch most days and don’t graze until I get home and start preparing dinner. For me it’s convenience and I actually like the taste. I add a spoon of instant coffee to the vanilla, makes for great coffee/caramel sort of flavour which I happily gloop down.

The point about food being one of life’s great pleasures is one I get flung at me often. My lunch options are popping and spending 5 quid on something tasty but calorific or spending time (which I don’t have) preparing something at home or making a cheesy butty which is not great nutrition and becomes very uninspiring. So works for me, but each to their own etc….

There’s a really good Facebook group for TVP (trafic vivaro pristar)  just called TVP UK, very helpful guys. I’ve got a 2.0 so not sure on your question but sure it’ll be on that group somewhere.

    From the website……..

Alongside Goughie will be former England wicketkeeper and three times Ashes winner Matt Prior, plus former England batsman Mark Butcher, former England spinner Gareth Batty and Sri Lanka legend Mahela Jayawardene.

Also featuring across commentary will be Sky Sports pundits Mike Atherton, David ‘Bumble’ Lloyd, Nasser Hussain, Ian Ward and Rob Key to give all the latest cricketing news and analysis throughout the tour, which includes all Test Matches, ODIs and T20s.

No adverts will be broadcast during the live action and will only feature during natural breaks in play.

Mark Butcher too, so the team seems good and no ads yet. Plugs for football later in the week but I guess we have to give them that. This could be alright after all.

Building myself up to giving it a try. See Darren Gough is on their and Mark Nicholas, so has potential.

I’d go for at least 10 betting ads per hour, Ray Winstone at least once every twenty minutes

I think bennett has described a beauty there. If you want more there are extensions from hayfield over shooting cabins then over to rowath and back over lantern pike, but that route he’s listed covers all my peak favourites.

I’d say it was when it went: Strauss, Cook, Trott, KP and Strauss retired in 2011, so it goes back a while.

Trott gave it that solidity that we’ve missed since then and KP went a bit awol soon after that. Bell had the odd good summer, but we never successfully replaced Strauss. I wonder whether Cook’s time is finally up, whether it would be better if Root wasn’t captain – is that why Buttler has been reintroduced?

Don’t think it will get any better for the test team this side of the world cup as Bayliss and the ECB focus on that. Surely it is time for a different test and one day coach.

Looks tidy that, how heavy is it? Are we talking Isla/Frog sort of weight? it certainly doesn’t look like the BSO we’ve come to expect from Raleigh.

Nice response higgo. My thoughts exactly.

I’d love to help out if given the opportunity but direction would be key. I’ll send a message to peakdistrictmtb to gauge their thoughts.

Good point, will continue to keep away from it. I just reread the initial keeper of the peak blog about it and they confirmed that United Utilities had stated that there was no intention to exclude mountain bikers at any point in the future.

The lack of progress is just frustrating, but I guess it isn’t their priority.

We were up there last night and the climb from the Smithy up through the forest is still closed, so we went up the road to charity lane and the goyt. I’ve chatted to others who have ridden up there regardless and are using the trails but didn’t feel right to us to cross the very definite CLOSED signs.

It’s pretty frustrating as you’d think they have had plenty of time to clear things up, over 3 months I think. Makes you wonder what else is going on or whether they want to keep bikes out of the forest. I’ve nothing to base this on, just thinking out loud.

We have a drive away awning and the experience is similar to yours. Only put it up once, can’t be bothered again, bit of a waste really. It just adds faff, the minimal faff of the campervan is one of the major wins for me. I also really like the feeling of being able to swing open the door and be outside, rather than opening the door and being in a tent.

A pop up tent to store stuff in could be a good option, our solution to that is just to take less stuff!

It isn’t signposted and you would have to go up trails the wrong way or push up in an off piste style, but you can do it.

It’s not obvious, and hard to describe, but you need to look out for it just before the boardwalk section. Not the boardwalk section on the B-line but the next one that wiggles between trees. Just before that, up to the right the red trail joins and the blue trail heads back to the centre and pump tracks.

    Does that help?

Sportsman  is just up the road from the campsite, great pub. Or if earlier in the day the Royal Hotel by the cricket pitch is nice for outside drinking. The Pack Horse is good for food. Can’t go wrong.

If you don’t want to go for the pivot table (some people get freaked out by pivots) then a SUMIF function would work as well, plenty of good examples if you google that and watch a few you tube clips.

I’ve been eyeing these up and you’ve just encouraged me to buy it! My trusty Prince Albert has taken a few too many hits to the mech hanger, this might just save the frame.

I know quite a few teachers and it’s very interesting to see the different approaches. They are all very good at the job, love teaching but bogged down by the rest. The happiest are those that don’t care too much. That might sound counter intuitive but they seem to know what has to be done, what needs to be done and what they can get away with. One mate calls himself a lazy teacher and he’s the happiest of the lot. I wonder if the kids he teaches would say he’s the best of the lot because he isn’t stressed out by all the other stuff.

This approach might not be possible for some though, those teachers that have to plan and control every last detail, but if I was teaching it would certainly be my way. Probably wouldn’t make you very popular in the staff room though.

Just an observation, take from it what you will…

Can’t see why it wouldn’t be?

For snow and conditions etc I’d take a look at keeper of the peak
