+1 what Shred says plus Tabata.

I’m soooo glad my Flow runs TTS videos and custom routes off Google Earth. Plenty of variation if I ‘have’ to spend more than 60 mins on mine.

+1 Borough Market if you want to pick up foodie gifts. Plenty to feed yourself with too.

+1 What atlaz says. It’s always bogged up or got real sketchy during bad conditions (anyone remember the log run from a few years back?). Best avoided at present.

Surely not this one because it hardly works.

Hmm, I’ve abstained from commenting on this because I too thought Dave to be one of the good guys. If no-one is getting answers now (several weeks on from Dave’s proposed settlement update) then IMO Dave has to set up a new webmail account, notify everyone they’ll be refunded and then either do the decent thing online or toodle off to t’ bank.

Fair enough, there may be ‘only’ a handful of £90-£250 clients on STW and they may well only form a tiny percentage of his income. But that’s no excuse – they’ve paid up front and received nothing but sh1t service. So Dave, sort it out. Enough damage has been done to your rep on here – which you may not care about because the bulk of your earning comes from elsewhere. Either way, that stinks. Stick your hand in your pocket and sort it out.

You can happily spend time tweeting every few minutes but can’t send/receive a few emails? That’s BS IMO.

EDIT: I didn’t enjoy writing this post because I genuinely believe there’s a lot of sincerity in the iDiet (and some of Dave’s opinions on general fitness etc). But what FMO is seeing the hypocrisy of Dave’s Twitter stream happily updating every few minutes/hours … Living it up in France just recently eh?

If you don’t do it now, and keep on doing it, both as a mum and a dad, you’ll get to 40 odd and wake up one day wondering why you wasted all those years.

    What a load of BS.

Years ago one of my sales guys had two prospects called Jan Isukov and Jayne Mycock. Oh how we laughed about the possibility of them marrying with a double-barrelled surname 🙂

All depends on the definition of a trader.

If you buy and sell bike parts as a key form of income, i.e. your main job or to heavily supplement existing wage/benefits, then I’d say that person’s profile should carry a “trader” tag. After all, they’re a ‘trader’.

If you buy and sell the odd bit of kit because you have a higher turnover of parts than average, then fine. Sometimes you’ll make a few quid, sometimes not. No issue here.

Although not strictly related to your HDD spinnage, you could do worse than use CCleaner for getting rid of all the daily crap etc. Keeps things ticking over nicely ‘n’ all.

Are you already using (and own) Photoshop, Illustrator etc on a PC? If so, the expense of having to buy this all over again (plus any other s/w) for a Mac is gonna require some serious justification IMO. Unless you make a fair old wad of course.

Yep, just one of those little things that so many people aren’t aware of.

One of our favs is a local store run by a crazy little Italian guy. Packed with herbs, spices, oils, nuts, pulses, flours, grains, sauces etc – all at ridiculously low prices. Plus he does custom blends like Ras-el-Hanout.

@cfinnimore: Aaaah indeed 🙂 Our super fit Physics teacher came with us on a Lake District trip. I think we were 14/15. Same scenario: there she was at the bar on a couple of evenings. The thoughts that went through our tiny minds …

Yep, it’s flat just as rewski etc state above. Gets pretty effing dull as well – more so en route to Christs Hospital because all you’ve got to look at are trees. Opens up a lot more after that.

I sometimes do a loop that takes in about 15-20 miles of DL coupled with some road stuff to use as some kind of flat power session. A CX bike would be preferable though.

Somebody (an uncle maybe?) was in the Glider Pilot Regiment that included doing a stint during Operation Market Garden (Arnhem to most people). I’ll always remember my mum saying how haunted he was by seeing all those boys (parachute regiment) “taken out” as they neared the ground.

Another had a role I can’t remember aboard a Lanc.

And another uncle was in the air-sea rescue service (in the Channel I believe). Hopefully he won’t have to fish you out.

Loads of family members served across the military in particular throughout the 19th century. Have lots of photos, some of which give me the tingles – mainly those in Africa.

EDIT: I visited Arnhem years ago. Very humbling. I want to go back to ‘appreciate/respect’ what happened more.

Apparently Tabata is where it’s at when it comes to short, intense sessions.

I’ve been doing these regularly on my Tacx T2200 and definitely feel stronger.

Not sure how easy it is to do Tabata type sessions on a TT using a MTB though. Gearing might well be too low. Hence most people use road bikes.

The advantage of the T2200 running Taxc’s own software is you can programme it to do all kinds of funky stuff including Tabata-specific wattage spikes at the correct intervals. No need to faff with timing and gears etc – it’s all done for you – all you have to do is pedal like a mentalist follow by some intermittent panting.

Yep, credit to Terry (as much as it pains me to say that). Our best player tonight.

Gerrard our best player in the group games but didn’t even turn up tonight. Having said that, no-one did outside of the back four. A truly shocking performance from Same Old England. Can’t pass, can’t move, can’t keep the ball (and can’t score pens).

It’s embarrassing how certain elements of the media make out we’ve turned the corner because of Hodgson’s results to date. Do me a favour.
