BTW, what do you want to learn/improve?

How about taking lessons in the Force from Jedi?

    One on one or group?

At least with the GT option you get Inners etc to practice your skills.

Car Insurance for 18 year old – any ideas how to (legally) reduce it?

    Wait 25 years.

Always good to hear positive feedback to resident trail fairies.

Quite fancy a bit of Swinley action … and seeing as I only seem to hit it about once a year I think I’ll make the effort in the next couple of weeks.

Greasy fish n chips is shit. Find a proper chippy and you’re well in.

This one in New Addiscombe[/url] rocks.

Used to love fireworks as a kid, but in recent years they just bore the **** out of me. Can’t think of anything more dull.

Much prefer chilling by the bonfire with a jacket spud, BBQ’d chicken/snags and a few beers.

Alternatively just relax at home with the family.

A decent set of accounts (which can of course be cooked) can also make the difference. Plenty of ‘bigger’ firms operate with big losses and weird cashflows, whereas some smaller/boutique types sometimes run things tighter.

Was expecting mixed opinions and research/evidence anyway, so no issues there.

Am just curious about the pros and cons. Like bikebouy says, I reckon I can see myself (and the missus) mixing up some ‘raw food side dishes’ to accompany the more regular things.

eat all the raw food you want, you can’t digest/process most of it. you’ll be starving to death with a full stomach…

IMO I find that hard to believe.

Yeah, bollocks to raw eggs and most meat/fish. I’m talking about substituting various cooked ‘components’ for things that only involve combinations of raw veg/fruits/nuts/seeds.

I’ve no idea what the reality is. Some ‘spokesman’ for it advocate how we need to move away from being the only animal that eats cooked food. Maybe there is some value in that, i.e. more goodness/nutrients etc to be had. And possibly quicker to prepare blah blah.

Can’t see myself ‘switching’ to it full time though. Probably create a mash-up.

I reckon there are enough positives to give it some credence though.

I’ll just talk to myself then 🙁

Just made a big bowl of spirally courgette, grated carrot, grated cauliflower, chopped garlic, raisins, lemon oil, olive oil and seasoning.

Looks n tastes pretty good to me.

Watched most of the first episode and wanted to like it but somehow found it lacking. Felt it was trying too hard (to be hard).

Our society has long been in decline. Gonna continue for at least half a generation unless a whole lotta shit gets sorted. And if it doesn’t, then it’s gonna be 25yrs+ before we see regeneration.

Hmm, I once scored 2 out of 3 on that one 😯

I do it to prevent it from doing the beeps.

I mean who programmed it with four short and one long beep to finish? Thats just wrong. It should be three short beeps and one long. Not four. Terrible rhythm.

    Call Windwave?

Might as well. Can’t do any harm.

Think I might be sending mine there too seeing as Loco haven’t bothered to reply to my message/email from last week about booking a service.

Yep, SDW if you want something panoramic (and with the occasional sea view).

North Downs/Surrey Hills if you’re more into trees/forests etc.

While I agree maybe for older people you can’t tell me there aren’t young lads running around wanting to be JT?

Unfortunately most kids I know (friends’ sons etc) that play football are only interested in the lifestyle that being a footballer brings. And that includes even the really talented kids who’s parents think they might have a chance at trials etc. Sure, they might want to play for ‘their’ team, but ultimately they want to be rich and flash. Pretty sad really. None of them are put off by the wrong/seedy stuff exhibited by the likes of Terry/Cole/Giggs/Gerrard etc. In fact it often has the reverse effect and makes kids think they’re even more cool.

A role model to millions of future footballers.

IMO footballers (pro, semi-pro and amateur) don’t look up to the pros in the same way they did years ago. That is especially true of most England players, even more so someone like Terry, England captain or not.

People are fed up with the bling sub-realities that these people live in.

All the FA have to do is figure out if these allegations are true. If it’s proven that they are then they have to take the armband away and discipline him accordingly. Captain or not, he ain’t no role model.

    – Sprouts with smoked bacon lardons (of just diced)

    – Potato dauphinois (get this right and it’s proper nom nom – and works fine alongside

    – Stuffing (get sausage meat from butcher (or remove from good quality sausages) and mix with diced onion/herbs/seasoning/breadcrumbs and anything else that takes your fancy, e.g. dried apricots, nuts etc)

Can’t do any harm to just pick up the DVD for starters (about £17?). I grabbed a copy a month or so ago and it’s pretty good. Some sections could do with more elaboration (and demonstration of right vs wrong) though. Does give you an idea of how to improve certain basics, especially stuff you wouldn’t think of.

As mentioned already, check out Jedi if you want to keep it local. Then again, if you want to head north and can justify the time/cost of the course coupled with several days across the 7 Stanes then why not go for it?

Guys, can you report back with your findings? £200-300 is a lot to justify on a fancy bit of videoing kit, whereas half that is somewhat more feasible.

    Cheers

Yes, £15k can change your life, but it depends what you do with it.

(Re-)Training can open up a new career path. Likewise, taking off on a trip for a few weeks/month can give you a new perspective on things and therefore encourage you to explore something completely different. And simply taking a career-break/time-out (which can easily cost £1-3k/month) can give you the opportunity to do the same.

Do you need brakes at the pole?

Not much to crash in to.

    Two reasons I’d recommend brakes:

After a debacle with EON earlier this summer, I did some looking around (comparison sites an’ all that) and figured I’d better learn more about watts and their usage. Realised things wouldn’t really be any better elsewhere so I signed up to a 2 yr deal based on what we expect to use.

Just takes a while to work out some figures before committing.

As someone else said on here, from the Tower put your back to the fence and hold your arms on a V pointing in a NE direction. Then just explore that whole area.

That was moi … and it’s NW actually 😉

Judging by the clarity of bikemonger Charlie’s recent efforts I’ll be giving my iP4 a go sometime this week. Not relevant to this post if you haven’t an iP4, but maybe other smart phones are capable of better results than you think.

Is the HH run “widow maker”?

Are you referring to the steep path that winds down onto the road? Haven’t done that for years – probably because the top of that section seemed to be out of bounds when they started logging/cutting back etc.

There used to be another little trail on the opposite side of the fort that ran down to the road. I think we only got to do it once (in about 2004) before it was put out of action.
