love dremels.. theyre so versatile.. use mine all the time!

I’ve had pretty much all of the dremel models and a few others.. they all break eventually…!

use a Draper i got from Wilko’s for £20 now.. its probably the best one ive had in terms of reliabilty.. but it does lack the lower speeds of the other makes.. and best of all its cheap.. :)

I always use genuine dremel attachments / bits etc though.. the cheap ones dont work half as well…

I hate internet ‘dating’. Mostly because I’m ginger and never have anything funny/interesting to say in an email, so I don’t get many dates

    lol..

i too am one of the blessed with ‘glorious’ ginger locks..!

It did hold me back to start with i think.. combined with only being 5ft 9… a face like a smacked bum and i am also blessed with the social skills of a brick…

then I just thought.. **** it!

email people you like the look / sound of.. pick up on stuff in their profile.. and always have at least one question in any emails.. it gives the recipient something to answer and build on in a reply..

this seemed to work for me.. a couple of emails on the site.. then either MSN messenger for a bit… or a few texts and a phone chat.. then organise a date..!

don’t mess about messaging for ages.. i did this to begin with its just a waste of time and its very easy to build up false pictures of people from online communication i think..

it was a crazy crazy 6 months… so many dates and new people! i met some great people.. and am still friends with a few of them.. kinda miss the excitement in a way..

on the flipside i also met some quite frankly bizarre people and had some downright weird ‘dates’ too.. the stories i could tell! its all part of the fun though.

just be yourself and be open, and don’t get hung up on something if it goes wrong.. just move on.. lifes too short to fret.. besides.. there’s always that date next week you arranged with someone else.. ;)

and lastly never be afraid to try something new!

I Met my partner on Match.com 6 years ago in April now.. :D

    Babble over.

    cheers ceepers.. :)

    @stayhigh

id forgotten i modified mine to fit… as My brake hose runs down my swingarm!

i just had to cut a bit off one end and a notch into the other.. then it slotted between the hose guides.. and i’ve actually attached it to the brake hose guide at one end rather than a tie all the way around the swingarm.. the l shaped bit at the bottom then slides nicely under the hose

it would look nicer if it followed my tyre more closely towards the end of the guard like it does on postierich’s bike… but thats more to do with my swingarm being nearly horizontal.

cant find the img source for instagram.. but heres one on my meta.. (not the best of angles.. sorry!)

first ride last weekend in loads of mud.. I still got a bit on my back but nothing like as much as i would without the guard.. and it kept my bum dry!

and more importantly for me.. i got next to nothing on the dropper post and hardly anything where the linkage connected to the swingarm

I bought the normal guard (not the more expensive orange five one) and it fitted fine.. ( i think i may have used my own zip ties though.. cant remember!) and there was more than enough helicopter tape for me..

the orange five guard comes with longer cable ties and extra heli-tape..

i’m guessing it was because there was probably a bidder who isn’t on the list.

They will have bid after / at the same time the winner, and they’ll probably have bid upto 9900 then stopped as they’ve seen the winner had already bid 10k+ (and they obviously didn’t wanna spend more than 10k..)

they don’t appear on the list as they’re never the ‘highest bidder’ at any moment in time

    lightly sand the area..

    stick the patch on..

i find it helps to have the tube slightly inflated.. and then apply some pressure to the patch with both of my thumbs after its stuck on..

same as a normal patch to be honest.. just without the vulcanising solution..

i used some 1mm stuff to start with when i serviced my 44’s and it was way too thick.. there really isn’t a lot of clearance between the spring and stanchion

used some of the stuff messiah recommended and it worked a treat.. :D

also thought it was a bit pants.. small venue with not a lot of interest there really..

would have thought there would have been something from cotic or on-one there.. but it all seemed a bit more roadie biased

got a nice t-shirt from the drink tea ride bikes stand though..

The Akrigg talk tomorrow will be good i would have thought..

but it annoyingly clashes with the final nail biting smith vs atherton world cup tomorrow..

does anyone have any bike hire place recommendations for rotorua too..?

i’m heading down there in feb next year to visit the OH’s brother and we are planning on another visit to Rotorua.. and i plan on doing a bit of riding one day..

thought about taking my own bike as we are probably flying emirates.. but as we are flying to Queenstown too itll probably work out cheaper (and less faff moving them about) to hire bikes in both places…

really like the Fat dog cafe last time we where there.. oh.. and checkout the polynesian spa in rotorua… its AWESOME!!

not today but last week during the basquemtb with greatrock week…

crazy sideways landing to powerslide…. rode it out and it felt awesome…!!

    then this happened..

put the tyre and tube back on… pumped back up… and it exploded out of a large rip on the other side of the tyre i hadnt seen..

cue much bodging from the group…

got me home via some super steep tech stuff… and then an interesting ride down a mountain road…! =)

Went on a one to one skills course with Ed a couple of years ago..

didn’t think i got much out of it at the time.. but the more i rode afterwards and though about the things we had gone through on the day and put them into practice.. it pretty much transformed my riding..!

    highly recommended!

also just got back from the skills week with Doug and Ed in the Basque country.. which topped up the skills i learned earlier and put the new bits ive learned into practice on some of the AMAZING trails (i shall forever dream of blue pills…!) out there..

got a JMC poster delivered by them… tube dented.. end popped out.. poster ruined.

on the flipside i sent out some Renthal Bars by them last week as the package was too long(!!!) for royal mail and parcelfarce at the post office wanted over a tenner!

    and they got there fine..

i once got a fly in my eye about a mile from home on a ride..

I usually wear clear glasses but for some reason didnt that day.. :(

hurt like ****… got home.. checked it really well.. got the missus to check it.. she found nothing.. even washed my eye with an eye bath..

    the pain faded away..

i lay down on the bed and promptly fell asleep due being knackered after the ride..

i awoke about 40 minutes later… with my eye gushing fluid everywhere..

ran into the bathroom and looked in the mirror to find a centimetre and a half or so long fly in my eye..!! must have been hiding behind my eyeball!

    made me feel *quite* queasy!

havent ridden without eye protection since though… 8O

at a slight tangent.. what are those black cable mount things on your top tube?

they look much better than the current zip ties ive got on my Meta5 holding the dropper post cable on!

    no.

your seat height on the HT is just generally incorrect and a compromise between speed and comfort for you on a specific piece of trail (without stopping and putting it up / down)

tag onto that that that seat height on the HT will probably make a bigger difference as you don’t have the buffer zone of the rear travel stopping the seat pitching you forwards quite so much

if anything.. its made me fitter and able to enjoy the flow of up / down trails more as i don’t have to stop to put my seat up or down anymore..!
