Tis a shame its closing.. had a spankingly good plate of nachos there after my somewhat washed out trip around the black route.. but life goes on as people have said..

must get myself back up to scotland next year and get Trekster to show me all the hidden local bits i missed last time in Mabie.. :D and ride the last descent at AE if the god of rain decides to play nice and not chuck it down all the way around! (and hopefully my car wont break this time!!)

its pretty technical and steep and in places a bit hike a bike unless you are a riding god..

i got dropped off at the top by the missus when i rode it.. i quite enjoyed the ride down but i wouldnt say it was really worth a big slog up to ride it.. another bit of trail ticked off the list but i wont be riding it again..

the little tube of float fluid is really thick oil thats applied to the foam rings just under the dust seal and is also used inside the air can on fox rear shocks too..

i think some people have replaced it with 85wt gearbox oil from memory.. i can bring a pillow pack sized amount of fox fluid up with me on monday if youd like? :)

the 14 million standards for forks / headsets / bb’s

‘hydration packs’ and the lack of bottle bosses on frames…

I dont want to carry a backpack full of fluid that add’s weight to my already screwed shoulders when i can have a handy bottle on my bike frame..!

have already ridden kirroughtree and while i loved it i want to try the others centres too and make up my own mind ;)

getting to Mabie for 12ish on monday shouldnt be too much of a problem :)

im not the quickest of people uphill so the rustyness shouldnt cause any problems! ;)

its not often you see skeletons for anything really…

if you think about how many wild animals / birds there are… compared to how many skeletons you actually see… where do they all vanish to?

id go for cut gate from langsett.. its riding brilliantly at the moment…

    [/url]

dalbys not bad i guess.. but not a patch on the descent from cut gate to langsett

Stainburns brilliant if you want to play about and session bits of trail (its better with a few people to egg each other on) but a bit short.

and gisburn and lee quarry are probably a bit far

they dont give you a bike trail map at the entrance anymore..

overheard the woman on the gate telling the car in front they would have to stop off at the visitors centre and get one if they needed one..

he thinks he has the talent and skill of ayrton senna.. he doesnt..

on a good day hes probably a bit better than vettel, but over a season vettel’s the more consistent driver.

he needs to take a step back.. appreciate that this years car isnt quite as good as the red bull and stop pushing too far and crashing.

    theres always next year…
