I have nothing constructive to add but wanted to wish you luck. I read the thread with interest because Mrs Spacecadett is expecting our 1st in Feb.

I added a Honeywell CM907 thermostat to my system last week. It is a 7 day programmable thermostat. My missus is soon going on mat leave for 12 months so I thought it would be a good time to add one.

I am not an electrician or plumber but managed to instal it very easily. The instructions were ok to follow but what I found very helpful was a video on u-tube. If you search for wireless thermostat boiler instillation it’s by ‘The Ultimate Handyman’ and lasts 15 mins 20 secs. It’s a different boiler to mine but helped anyway. There is also a Honeywell ap that you can download to phones (iOS & Android) and there is a very helpful wiring table.

I have noticed a huge difference in the house, no peaks & troughs in temp.

Kitchen utensils from Joseph. Absolutely useless. The handles are much heavier than the business end of each utensil so as soon as you leave one in a pan, they flip over causing good to fly everywhere. They are simply not fit for purpose.

The Eames chair isn’t ideal for playing guitar, badly or well. The arms get in the way. I think a Barcelona chair fits the bill nicely.

I stayed in Chamonix Sud with France Location for a week over the summer – just above the Monkey Bar. The accommodation was very basic but met our needs as we were either out biking or at a bar.

It was very cheep but had great view of Mont Blanc from the balcony

Took about 2 minutes to walk from the accommodation to the centre of Chamonix.

My good lady makes a brilliant smoked haddock chowder.

Soften onions or leeks, add sliced potatoes & fry off. Add veg stock & boil until spuds are al dente. Add chopped smocked haddock & cook for a few mins. Add creamed corn (basically a mix of frozen corn & a bechemel sauce). Cook for a few more mins.

Serve with parsley, hot sauce & warm fresh bread. Lovely stuff.

As above. Additionally, before painting (undercoat or gloss) I rub the surface with a tack cloth – this is a sticky cloth that collects any fine bits of dust and ensures a good finish. You can get rack cloth from Dulux decorator centres.

I used Liberon decking oil to treat mine. It was very easy to apply and looks great. Once applied, water beads on the surface of the wood. It comes in 3 colours – natural, oak & teak. I used natural and the finish looks a bit like untreated decking when it is wet.

This was the cheapest online place I could find: http://www.deckingoil.co.uk/acatalog/liberon_decking_oil.html?gclid=CKjn14mi0LkCFSTJtAodCkQAzA

I am in Chamonix at the moment & bought my insurance through Snowcard. The week was about £60. Don’t plan on testing their credentials!

Another endorsement from me. Excellent wheels. Matt even took the time to show me how to set my wheels up tubeless from start to finish.

Excellent service as always from 18 Bikes.

I am in Chamonix from 31st August for a week. Will be riding on my own as the guys I am going with are spending the week climbing Mont Blanc.

Happy to meet up for a few days riding. Never been before, 1st time in the Alps & very excited. Not into down hill, more XC & trail riding.

I built a decking area in my garden. I am pleased as it is my first attempt at anything like this.

I have nothing but praise for the Notts Leisure Lakes too. I have bought a Stumpy FSR & a Santa Cruz Chameleon from them & had no problems at all. Furthermore, they have provided me with three written quotations with a full break down of parts for my insurance policy & 2 of those bikes were from elsewhere.

How is your ti frame finished? Mine is brushed & to get it looking like new I just use a scotchbrite pad (like the green rough side of a sponge).
