A guy at Forth Fat has a Krampus, said it was terrible on the sand.

Quite agree I had mine down on Putsbourgh sands/Woolacombe beach last month. Wet sand was OK but dry sand I may as well been on my cross bike but it was a hoot. Its horses for courses and the Krampus is a great trail bike for having fun on and rolls deceivingly well. Just need the Dirt Wizard tyres now – Surly Dudes you LISTENING! 😀

Well I’ve had my Krampus since May and have rode it solely since. Its been a blast and given the summer we have just had its been ideal, I run it SS. The tyres are the limiting factor – shite in mud and as thats what we now have lots of again its being retired till the Dirt Wizard is released by Surly.

Tempted with the Penguin and need to get of the fence soon as Im getting splinters T -5 hours…

OP yes great bike and great fun run SS. With ‘normal’ 29er wheel/tyre combo there will be masses of rear mud clearance however with knard/rabbit hole there not much clearance. Also the knard does not clear mud well and like others have said they a poo in the mud anyway but fast as a scolded fast thing over the great summer we have just had, I’ve only ridden the Krampus since i got it in May – its been a hoot. Just contemplating getting a Singular Puffin to keep it company 🙄
