Gore tex have now discontinued the ShakeDry fabric so this might have something to do with the price increase.

I have literally just received some today from R2-bike.com. £17 + 7.5 postage. No issues coming from EU. Took just under a week.

I asked this question a few weeks ago and went with the cheap ebay style ones above (ZTTO) or whatever is branded on them. Work perfectly well. Screwed mine down to a cut to shape board to go under the bed in my van, secured with mag latches so I can remove the setup if I don’t need it. Don’t see the issue of hovering the forks over the mount, not that big of deal IMO. Keep It Simple.

Cheers all! I’ve ordered a ZTTO.

Those shower heads are pretty common in South America/Brazil. Came across loads when I was over there.

No issue with Co2 when I flew to Girona a couple of weeks ago with Ryanair. Got asked at the excess luggage desk in Bristol if I had Co2, I answered yes and she acknowledged my answer and sent my bike box on its way. I think max for most airline is 2 cannisters generally.

@molgrips That was just what a few of the older posts on here seemed to suggest. If you have some routes or suggestions please do add them in here it would be much appreciated!

In the spirit of giving you something you haven’t asked for, Spesh Pathfinders are excellent for what you want with a smooth centre rib for low road drag.

@anagallis_arvensis Do you know how easy it is to replace the boot. As the manual suggests its very hard and its a job I need to do due to a top tube bag rubbing.

What year Roubaix is it? The only issue might be if it has a FS 1.0, which isn’t produced anymore and will need to be replaced by a FS 1.5 which I believe is backwards compatible. If its 2021+ ignore the above.

    Super Snakebite

Tenants 9% larger and 8% K cider and black currant or cassis if you were feeling a bit extra.

2 pints of that and you weren’t remembering much of the night at all. You wouldn’t want to drink much more of it! I had to stop drinking it after being told I’d done some things which were quite out of character and I had zero memory of. Dangerous stuff.

I pieced together a route over a few days from Bristol down to Salcombe using some of the longer old railway line cycle paths and up and over the Quantocks. Feel free to have a hack about with it.

I’d echo the shite Praxis chainset comments which again was on my old lower end Diverge. Dropped chains way more that it should have for no reason.

Sunrace do an 11-36 cassette. I got one to go with my winter/muddy terrain wheelset.

Not seeing any mention of protein powder in here. Chocolate or vanilla adds some nice flavour and an easy way of upping your protein in take.

Adidas have just released some gravel bibs with pockets. No idea how good they are. Tempted to try them out though.

As mentioned I’d use a combo of checking routes and suggestion via seat61 and then booking and timetables via RailEurope. He’s also pretty responsive on email if you have any specific questions.

New Garmin edge user here and I have some long days planned coming up. I tend to use my watch to ‘record’ rides. Can the Edge (Explorer in my case) just provide route navigation without it ‘recording’ the ride. I’m just thinking of this from a saving battery standpoint.

On the outset from a sellers perspective an AIP (Agreement In Principle) mortgage offer really isn’t worth anything. They can be obtained very easily and little fact checking is done and when they buyer comes to get a proper mortgage offer, lots can go wrong. And having had sold a house recently I had a marginally higher offer with a buyer with an AIP or a slightly lower one with ‘cash’ (proof of funds in accounts provided to the EA). As I wanted to get things moving quickly the slightly lower offer was the one I went with.

Terravail Rutlands are what I went for in 700 47c . I did consider the Resolutes but had some Riddlers in the past and found they wore quickly and reviews seem to suggest WTBs puncture quite easily.

If you find yourself being taken down a path with no public right of way. Do everyone a favour and go and update the info on OSM. Its very easy and helps improve the base source data. It also helps avoid someone else getting a bollacking from the landowner and in turn them getting more pissed off with ‘bloody cyclists’ trespassing every weekend.

Chances are depending on construction if you are going to do a full re-wire you’ll be chasing the cables in the walls, thus re-plastering through out anyway.

Looks like Bike Discount are now not doing the hard £175 limit and calculating on the equivalent exchange rate instead. Today the minimum order limit is £154.92. Wondering if its worth the punt for a Garmin Explore.

I did the Thames Path start to finish this time 2 years ago. So if you’ve got any questions on that section fire away.

I’ve just ordered some Teravail Rutlands 700 x 47 Tan and in the durable flavour. Hoping for good things, they seem to be well reviewed. They do them in 650 sizes too.

I’m just looking into this as I want some tyres and no UK distos have them. Depor Village have them and state they will be shipped via GLS. Had a little google and found this..

    GLS Brexit Info

Am I reading correct when I say I won’t be charged for anything shipped via GLS under £135?

Ha ha I’ve just done exactly the same @metalheart. Get them now before the Brexit fiasco.

It can clog up the jockey wheels a bit if the chain is lathered in the stuff on first use. I tend to give them a quick once over after a quick ride, it removes easily. You want the wax inside the chain not all over the outside.

In relation, another advantage not mentioned too much is cleaning your cassette and jockey wheels vs regular lube. You don’t get that hard caked on black crap like you do with normal lube. Literally none at all.

As said Nikwax tech wash or supermarket Silk & Delicates Handwash or similar. Also for breathable items I don’t get why you’d use wash in reproofing. Surely your going to restrict the breathability by waterproofing the inside? I always use the spray on Nikwax stuff.

Really can’t see past these for replacement gravel wheels myself. I want them, I just really don’t need them at the moment. In 700 or 650 flavour and almost within budget.
