Thanks very much guys. Some good suggestions.

I’m aware you don’t need supplements. But you do need them to make life easier, that’s all they are there for! When you have several diet restrictions, anything to make it easier is a bonus

    Cheers

Sounds like it needs a suspension tune or some volume spacers up front to me!
    Just my opinion

Thanks very much guys. Some very useful opinions/comments there.

I’m going to try it, see how I get on. The weight thing bothers me though, I want to go lighter where possible not heavier hahaa

I’ve got both. Codes p*ss all over guides in my opinion! Codes also handle different weather better imo.

    Thanks alot Joe.

You were bang on! B tension screw wasn’t quite set right, and also too much tension on the slx clutch.
It’s changing like perfection now in the work stand, buttery smooth. Let’s hope it stays somewhere near in the slop!
    Cheers mate

Guys, I’m running this frame and love it.
My only problem which is probably down to me is the gear cable routing.

I’m on my 3rd gear cable now (inner and outer), and been as I use it in the winter slop thought my poor shifting was down to mud in the cables.

However, I’ve recently fitted a fully sealed fibrax kit that has barely improved it. I’m running slx 11-46 set up, changes up the block fine. Changes down go smaller cogs are a PITA. Mainly the top 3 and then it’s ok.

I’ve tried having the cable nearest the rear mech longer so it’s at less of an angle entering the mech, tried it shorter, but now I’m totally stuck. I have got it crossing from one side of the frame to the other under the top tube, but been as the cable is sleeved I didn’t think that mattered.

Any help please it’s driving me mad

Is that the 30mm or 24mm?

I’ve not long fitted one into a carbon frame. No issues with creaking or anything like that.

However, on the second ride out was very muddy. Lightly hosed the bike down after. I then found the bearings were that rough and gritty. They were full of grit with minimal grease.

Flushed them out and repacked and they seem better since. I did email hope, but they weren’t interested.

Are stainless safe enough for caliper bolts (and stem) then?

Thanks for all your quick responses.

Yes I had written it down on here wrong, I followed fox ID fluid chart for my forks. Just hoping the qbikes repackaged stuff is genuine. As it certainly didn’t look like what came out.

All back together now and ready for a ride 😁

What are the race matrix like in the wet?

My guides with resin pads are crap in wet, yet my codes with now resin pads (all the shop had) don’t really care if it’s wet or dry.

    Cheers for the replies all.

To be honest, I didn’t agitate on the frame. I prefer not to as it just scratches it. I don’t mind leaving residue or water marks, as long as the majority is off. That’s probably why I have to go over it twice, and end up using so much muc off.

Hense me looking for a cheaper alternative. I’m wary of ebay stuff tbh. I’ll look into your suggestions tho

Sorry to revive this thread. I bought some oko offroad/agri stuff today. Was pretty cheap for the quantity.

Was just wondering what quantities you guys were running on what size tyres?

Are the reviews still fairly positive mixing 2 parts sealant to 1 water?

I’ve also just looked into those 2 greases as I need something in A bugger quantity as the park tool gets expensive.

How so you know the mobil and betray grease is carbon safe guys?

I’m not that impressed with the muc off sealant so far. Could be me though!

Agree with plus one. No arguing from where I’m watching, Jim is a respectful bloke. I thought it was handled well!

She’s clearly got no more important things to worry about.

Had guides, and now codes. Don’t like going back to guides now, they feel weak in comparison.  Love the power of the guides, they don’t seem to be bothered what pads they have either, sintered or organic genuine sram.

Couldn’t have been more identical to the OP. I also considered those you mentioned, and when I saw this went for it a couple of weeks ago. All built up now with some fox 34s and using it as a winter hack :D

I use a silverline O ring selection pack from toolstation in those little boxes. They have worked fine on mine.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Geex- I’m in need of a dropper on the hardtail winter bike, and just thought well I might as well kill 2 birds with one stone and upgrade my ‘best bike’ dropper post.

Haven’t got loads of money to spunk unfortunately, spent too much on bikes lately. Bike yoke are fox transfer are out my budget unfortunatley.

I like the sound of the one up post though, any long terms users? I also tend to prefer stuff I can service myself fairly easily, instead of something like the reverb which is a pain.

I opted for a Hope pf41 30mm recently with the same crank set up. It’s just 2 enduro bearings really. Hopefully it lasts longer than the RF one which died after 3 months.

Interested in one’s that the cups stay put though and bearings can be swapped. Like the sound of that.

    Hi guys.

Bit of an update.  Had a reply from Bonita at magic shine today, who has been very helpful and honest.

Unfortunately, the company has had some bad luck, one of which their premises being flooded. She also stated how people take advantage claiming they haven’t received goods, or the product is faulty, a new item is sent out with a prepaid returns and it never gets posted back. All of which I can relate to, with being part of a small family business myself. Granted some people are honest and it’s genuine, but there is alot that aren’t too.

Unfortunately, people mainly share the bad experiences on forums and social media, instead of when they have had such good customer service, or received a good product.

So, i would just like to say, maybe it’s worth cutting a bit of slack (inc myself) and supporting magicshine, after All their products have fantastic reviews, and delivery and the product I’m extremely pleased with. Just a small blip that hopefully is resolved.

    Cheers all

Ordered a magicshine light a couple of weeks ago. Very impressed with it on the first use. On the 2nd the battery pack refused to start up, tried emailing them twice since Thursday last week. No reply yet.

    Thanks very much chaps.

I might use both actually, see how I get on with some good double sided, incase I do ever need to remove it (for invisiframe replacement maybe) and if that doesn’t last, I’ll give the two part epoxy a go.

I take it any form of double sided tape, like number plate adhesive tape will be safe?

On my Jeffsy I had to add a spacer on the DS side from memory mate….. I had one laying around, it didn’t come with the kit……

Did you put that under the bearing when installing in the frame mate? Or did it go on the outside?

Thanks so much guys for the quick replies. Massive help!

I’ve just stuck my chain back on, and it’s catching on the e13 chain device when at the top of the eagle cassette, which it never did before… there is a 2.5mm spacer supplied, is it ok to fit this drive side then?

    Thanks again

    Cheers for the replies guys.

Would the commencal Meta HT be harsh even with WT tyres, 2.6/2.8?

The whyte bikes that would suit my needs generally have a BB that’s too low to suit my riding/trials.

It’s looking like I’ll be holding out for the dartmoor primal when that arrives in my size

    Thanks for the replies guys.

The nukeproof scouts are fully out of stock, bikes and frames.

Air drop and bird are totally out of my price range.

I’d be looking at large frames
