Not necessarily crap food, but you cannot beat toast with sliced banana, melted cheese on top and HP sauce.

Don't knock it until you've tried it – a taste revelation!

She’s apologised now. It’s on the BBC news website. Wish he’d said something back to her at the time though. Would have been a pleasantly awkward moment!

Used to live in Bristol and my brother’s girlfriend lived in Liverpool. Was on a day trip to London and happened to be in Harrods looking at caviar. I bumped into a girl next to me at the counter and it was her.

Have a similar problem. My osteopath said due to having cycled for years my upper spine is used to being slightly hunched and as a result has lost flexibility. Therefore my lower back is doing all the work. This means the muscles there are tensing up to protect it. The key to my recovery has been stretching of my upper back morning and night. I lie on the sofa and arch my upper back backwards over the arm of the sofa as far as I can. Also raised my bars 1cm. Had this problem for over a year and now it gives me no issues. My physio at work gave the same diagnosis so it would seem to be correct. Feel 100 % again. Best 30 quid I have ever spent.

Given that Bristol is pretty hilly, maybe a singlespeed with an unusually large gear would act as a suitable deterrant?

From now on I guess we should no longer show any sorrow for anyone who dies unless they are soldiers. Next time I cut a dead person out of a car accident I will be sure to tell their family to have some perspective. Get a grip!

There are some real tools on this forum. If Mikey is having a tough time and hasn’t asked anyone for money yet people are prepared to give him some then that is their choice. Smee, we get your point now. Well done. Chazza – people are sending him money because they want to. I am like you – skint and big debts too. I wouldn’t beg for money either. Mikey also hasn’t begged. People may actually be donating due to something called goodwill. Maybe they are just happy to do it. Some people are just happy to help out in a small way. I read this thread and actually thought it was nice to see there is still goodwill in the world. Then a few self righteous types had to ruin it. It is possible to have threads on this forum that don’t involve conflict you know. Mikey, good luck chap. Been in your situation and know only too well how it feels. Things will pick up.

Spent a tenner on an inner tube the other day. Just a normal continental tube. Had no choice. Will never spend another penny in that shop.

Chuffed for Brawn and Jenson. Great to see the team rise from the ashes. What do we reckon on a Hamilton / Button battle this season?

    Both bikes SS.

Kona Hei Hei (the original Ti hardtail)
    Specialized Tricross Singlecross.

I enjoy even the smallest rides now. Certainly feel it’s made me a better rider. Keep up the average speed and zero maintenance.

Still using original XTR cantis on the hardtail. Never had a problem with them. Never let me down.

You can’t knock Radio 4 you lot. Some quality stuff on there.

    Maybe I’m getting old.

Can highly recommend Olu Deniz. Fantastic place. Been there 3 times paragliding. Fantastic beach lagoon, great food, genuinely great people and overall such a cool atmosphere. Guarantee you’ll like it.

Ebay some stuff, or maybe a car boot sale. Did one the other weekend and turned up with some cds, dvds few odd bike bits and various crap I didn’t want. Was amazed to make 165 quid! Thought I was going to get about 50 to 60. Worth a go?

    The Stranglers, Bristol Hippodrome, 1990

One of the last concerts they did with Hugh Cornwell still in the band. Couldn’t hear properly for about 2 days.

Still the best live band I’ve ever seen.

Surely better off buying 2nd hand? For that money you would get something decent.

Had an accident in Bristol in 1990 on the road. Car went through a red light. Went over the roof landing on my head. Regained consciousness on the road before the ambulance arrived. Passed out again. Came to in hospital totally blind and paralysed down one side of my body. Thankfully all back to normal 12 hours later. Never been so terrified in my life. Didn’t ride a bike for 8 months afterwards (Also had fractured shoulder blade, broken collar bone, broken finger and a big fear of the road.)Had splitting headaches daily for nearly 2 years and had no recollection of the event for over 6 months. Didn’t have a helmet on.

Have worn a helmet ever since. Had a remarkably similar accident in London 10 years later and was wearing one. Walked home. Felt fine by the same evening.

    Proved it all for me.

I think the simple fact that so many people on here who disliked her are going on about the whole thing at all proves why the media hype exists. Love her or hate her, everyone has an opinion and they seem to want to argue about it! If you really don’t care, just shut up. I for one thought very little of her but as I have said before it’s terribly sad for her children. If you want the media train to stop, then cease filling the internet with your views about her. I’m done. Now move along – nothing to see here.

To quote the Reverand Jonathan Blake who married Jade and Jack. “Jade has become for us, so many different things, a saint from Upshire and a princess from Bermondsey, an exemplar of biblical proportions.” Words fail me!

Broken Britain. Refuse to have anything to do with it. If they are claiming benefits illegally everyone on this forum is paying for them to live in Spain. Struggling to pay my own bills at the moment and working 2 jobs to make ends meet. I think by the tone and question in your post you already know what you should do. Its a question of whether you listen to your heart or your head. Been in a similar situation myself and decided to have nothing to do with it.

Makes me think less of Peta to be honest. Extreme and ludicrous. Not a veggie myself but have a lot of respect for them raising many issues and concerns, but now after reading that find it difficult to take them seriously. Shame.

I can see this opening a can of worms. Think the media will create a storm over this somehow.
