then Laggan is on your way home – unless you want to head over to Fort Bill and instead of the Nevis Range ask for local advice (or go to one of the bike shops and get the map) and do some of the natural trails.

Kona Project 2s I have nad them nearly 20years.. never once had to service/strip down or lubricate them..
in fact they have been totally maintenance free!

only thing I have done is a respray and that was a cosmetic issue due to my inability to ride a bike and crashing them!

I own a cotic that spends most of its life built burlyish for trail riding. and then light wheels, longer stem and forks wound down for XC/Enduro racing.. I go with 110 to 115mm travel mostly as it feels the best to me..

go for it and enjoy (oh prepare to hurt really badly cos you will push harder than on any ride you have done before)

I run 24/36 with an 11/32 block and am never short of gears – cept when it gets near vertical.. and then it is my legs that run out not the gears

I am in no way the same league as the guys above..
I use SiS Go (the 6% level on the SiS bottle) prior to and during exercise

and post ride the Lucozade recovery drink – it actually tastes quite nice.. it says 250ml of water for a pack but I use about 350 to 400ml – quite a nice orange juice flavour – instead of the claggy milkshake type drinks of SiS and others

as far as Red bull/Monster/Relentless 'energy' drinks go.. Caffeine and sugar in massive quantites.. tis not really scientifc.. and prob screwing your heart rythmn if your not careful.

Try live in the countryside and survive without a car.. Local town only 5 miles from my house.. work 11 niles away

I have done it.. cycling everywhere really eats into my spare/Leisure time – and when I do get some freetime it is then spent ensuring the bike is in working order..
Plus my time riding offroad is reduced as I am
