There must be a reason why coffee bags haven't been part of normal life for the last 40 years, like tea bags have.

Coffee goes off pretty swiftly after it's ground, unless it's stored correctly. This is why ground coffee is vacuum-packed and should be stored in the fridge after you've opened the pack.

With teabag-a-like coffee bags, the only way they're going to be as good as "fresh" ground coffee is if each individual bag is vacuum-sealed, which I expect would be prohibitively expensive (a theory which would be borne out by these single-use cartridge system machines).

in Tesco a box of 18 is under £3 its 18bags individually sealed, they are a touch larger than tea bags and need at least 3mins brewing time.

for 18 bags at £3 its about 17p per cup which is comparable to a decent bag of coffee that you would would push thru a cafetiere using the same brewing principle. its just more convenient and saves effort cleaning up afterwards.

I like good coffee – strong and black.
and when I was shown one of these in a field whilst camping I was very sceptical.

but following the instructions correctly I was quite surprised at the enjoyable flavour – no bitterness detected either.

    Lyons Coffee bags

no doubt I will be flamed for this… but before you do – go buy and try..
its not the most awesome coffee but it is a more than acceptable substitute to instant

i have 2 dogs – they weigh 45kg each and no they are not overweight

anyone fancy a go at lifting them over a high fence/wall.. i am talking 3.5ft or higher..

I know they can get over 3.4ft cos thats how high the fence at home is which they have occasionally been know to vault.

For a start the forks would go.. Lyrik Coil Uturns (max length 160mm not 170)
the rest of the kit looks spot. (my wheels are pro2s with Mavic EN321)
    Orange 5 simple.

I have my 5 set up like this, I can take it anywhere in the world and it will cope –
Long XC ride wind the forks to appropriate height and away I go..
get to a super gnarly/techie descent – wind the forks back out and away I go.
I went to Central Canada a few years ago – mainly riding XC a few hours north of Toronto, with occasional woodwork thru the trees with drops – plus spent a long weeeknd in Bromont riding the trails (inc world cup course) my bike was very very versatile and only twice on the DH black runs at Bromont did I feel under biked.

Niederau is excellent – only a small resort, but the few bars (especially O'Malleys ar excellent)

There are only a few slopes and the reds are STEEP – but the blues higher up are fine – in fact so is the high up red.

but if you get the area lift pass there are regular buses to Auffach – really good ski area for beginners/intermeadiates
You can then head back to Niederau to try yourself on the steeper stuff later in the week.

If you are feeling adventurous later in the week (inghams put on a coach Thurs/Fri) you can grab a 5 min taxi ride (20euros) to Hopfgarten and the SkiWelt area – a huge ski area with lots and lots and lots of great runs.

The hotel I stayed in was the Harfenwirt in Niederau for the last 2 years – it was a HB deal (phone Inghams direct to get best deals) Brekkie is good – continental with some bacon and eggs etc.
Dinner while not huge is enough and is generally Excellent.
(do not eat lunch there though its crap – ue the cafe over the road or one of the cafes near the bottom of the main gondola!)
The Harfenwirt has a good spa, pool, sauna, steam room and plunge pool
I will be going back again to Niederau – but probably just do a day or 2 on the local slopes and spend the rest of the week over in the Ski Welt area.

if you do go ask Ray (o'malley's bar man) about his Snowboard helmet!

I dunny need a map, I knows where the trails are and I ride them when I want… i leave no trace behind bar the odd high roller track.

for those who dont know wehre they are they are brilliant.
it would be a real shame for the FC to ruin them as they did with a local DH trail in Moray.

Most modern GPS units have highsensitivity receivers – and often pick up the GPS signal from multiple satellites in buildings as well as under dense tree cover.

Garmin are very good – the etrex colour range are excellent. not tried their new touch screen ones.
or the Edge bike computers but the 705 looks all singing and dancing

Head to Moray for the Speyside experience with the Whisky.
Distillery tours – Benromachs in Forres as it is a traditional distillery not a flashy fandangled modern thing.

Castles hundreds – Urqhart Castle on the Banks of Loch Ness is pretty good about 20 mins south of Inverness.

Black Isle at Cromarty is very nice (a good pub there) and they can watch for Dolphins and seals etc.

For the hills (slightly obvious) Aviemore or Fort William.

    MY beliefs
Father Christmas – what a crock
Tooth Fairy – pull the other one
    Easter Bunny – laughable

The Sock Monster – REAL you and me..

Sonar contact across the Atlantic ocean from the English Channel.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (even on the West Coast of Ireland on a good day would be doubtful)

    I am British, then English..
I like to see Brits doing well..
Ok so at times Murray is boring.. and a touch misguided with his language.
He is Arrogant.. how many of the Very best Sportsmen are not?

But he is British so if he goes out before the final, I will be a touch disappointed.
As far as the England football team goes.. I shake my head at all the talent, that appears to work together for a bit and then forget how to.. Bizarre.

My early 90's kona Lavadome was called Katie… (now a SS hack/pub bike)
The '99 Explosif she was called Xantha.. (now broken after too much abuse)
my 2K patriot was simply Patty.. (now broken after too much abuse)
The Soul to replace Xantha never had a name.. but still a she .. (now broken after too much abuse)
My 5 .. no name but she is definitley a She and she gets ridden hard and abused regularly.
My Glory.. no name needed (see my 5 for what I do with her)

Gracia has also won the Red Bull Rampage in Utah – doing a back flip of a huge drop to finish his run… (he learnt the flip that week)
it blew everyone else away at that event.

have also drank Red wine with him a few years ago at the WC in Fort Bill.. he is a chilled out guy and a decent (if a womaniser) bloke, then his groupies hype him up and once again he becomes centre of attention.

Awesome rider, great character – downhill racing started with parties – he still races hard, has sublime skills and parties damned hard…

I dont hate Ae myself. I just didnt think it was anywhere near as good as Dalbeattie and Mabie – neither of which can match Kirroughtree.

this IMO… you are free to have your own mind and opinions.

    I agree with Druidh

Select an Area and ride there for a week.
2 years ago we stayed at Sandyhills for a week and rode the above trail centres – we missed Drumlanrig which in hindsight would have been a far better choice than Ae.

If you think the Great White is King in the Water – you havent seen the footage of an Orca kicking a Bigger great white's ass and then snacking on it..(this has occurred a few times off the coast of San Francisco.)

Meanwhile this is happening all the Great White's mates dive deep and swim a few thousand miles to Hawaii…and dont return to said San Fransisco feeding ground for a few years!
The Orca's return to snacking on seals and the like until the great whites return.

*Orca – truly lives up to its name as a Killer Whale!
