I know many of you are do not live in Scotland,

but those that do and those that visit on a regular basis this could have far reaching effects on where we will be able to ride and what trails will be available to ride on.

    am 6′ with an 18″ 5
I run a 50mm stem but needed a Thompson lay back seat post for XC duties.
why run such a short stem when I have to run a layback.
cos its just brilliant on the downs. used to run a 65mm stem which was fine, this is better

    no problem???

you should try riding a whole scottish winter without at least 2 cable changes!

Am not necessarily convinced by the auto changing, but electronic shifting can definitley be a leap forward in reducing maintenance. All it needs is to be correctly sealed. Modern high powered lights manage this so it shouldnt be a problem here either.
And looking at the cyclocross boys using it, it seems to be an already solved issue of the system.

I am going to Spain for the first time later this month.
I am going with 2 mates who have been twice before – the first time they went it was with Biking Andalucia – the trails were great they were less sure of the guide.
The second time they went it was with Ride Sierra Nevada who we are all going with again this time.
He does Transfers, Accom, Breakfast and Lunch all for a sensible price.
Evening meal is in the Local Spanish village where prices are reasonable for beer and food – a couple of the bars just put out Tapas for you when you order a few beers – therefore no need to buy food 😉

A bunch of other mates have been repeat customers with Singletracks.

There are pictures of me somwhere on the internerd cruising the trails between Kingussie and Newtonmore with a large can of Stella in hand (there was no real beer to be had) my beard was freshly shaven that morning.

I shortly followed this activity by climbing into a canoe (yes one of those open things) and spent the next few hours trying not to drop my beer as we paddled down the spey.
Next morning I had a stinking hangover but led the climb up to the Larig Ghru where we had a blast… then headed back to Glenfeshie and climbed some hill there, and had a beer at the top.

screaming back down the hill we ended up back in Kingussie, filthy, happy and went for more beer!(i got a proper one this time none of that lager pish or fruity rubbish)

I was one of the guides 😀

    Cracking weekend.

Swav, it was low down on the Haggis, where you cross the bottom Fireroad
and but back up to ride the newer trail that was cut for the 07 race

it happened on that piece of fireroad.

stanfree, the race route consists of The Monster trails in the Ordiquish woods by fochabers
you cant do the first climb as it is normally a descent (it just makes for a good climb in the race) that is the Soup Dragon (and it is a cracking descent as well)
it then heads over the top of Gordzilla and into the Haggis doing the whole of the Haggis. Though the second time you reach the Fireroad turn right, instead of going straight on, and ride 100yds and do an acute left turn in a really nice swoopy piece of singletrack that links back into the Main Haggis artery.
keep going til you get back to the top of the hill.
the main race route goes down a walkers trail that is not marked.
it is on the left opposite the top of the Dragon's tail
but you do have a choice – the race route, The Soup Dragon and the Gully Monster.
There is of course a pretty good red route over in the Whiteash woods and some stuff and BEn Aigen – and then the Oakwoods by Elgin and Monaughty just a few miles away.
I normally ride all 3 just cutting back up at the obvious points..
    enjoy.

I have an 08 Five, my pal prefers it to his 2010 frame.

I have Lyrik coils up front on mine, so I can have it out at 160mm for descents with a 67* head angle
and 140mm with a 68* head angle for the rest of the time.

    it rides great.

I was in the ambulance that went and picked him up.
We had to drive out very slowly as every bump hurt him quite badly even on the painkilling gas.

It was a great event, the sun shone, the marshalls did a great job (Thanks DeVs) Everyone who at the end of the day seemed to have smiles on their faces!
I rode down the singletrack descent to the end this afternoon. It was Fantastic so so so Fast..

I have used Bank Transfers many many times.

even with one or 2 people on this site I have transfered cash to.
I am with the HSBC where it states the funds should be in the other's account within 2 hours. that includes on an evening (though I believe it doesnt appear in their account until the following morning)
This said I have never transferred money to the Nationwide.

I do hope the issue is resolved soon

completely and utterly shocking I do agree..

the trail that she took the 224evo down looked like a green trail.. but its actually part of the World Cup XC course and rougher than the show makes out.
However a 224 overkill is an understatement.
That overall trail is fantastic, the speed you can get up to and features in it, its a red trail.
a decent Hardtail is good down it, my 5 is fantastic down it.

For a proper Northern route I recommend this one.

there are a couple of good add ons to extend the route.
