Another Confirmation of more in Morzine for the children to do.
We stayed in Montriond as it was a little quieter but could easily access Morzine town centre.

Chatel is very nice but a little limited on things to do for Children..
Of course if you are going to drag them out walking and biking every day it matters not a jot. Though the supermarket is far better on the edge of Morzine as well.
Furthermore, there is easy access from Morzine to Les Gets and Avoriaz which have good activites for the wee ones also.

The wife and I were regulars to Chatel (winter and summer) prior to Children.

Shit I used to talk about routes to ride and cheeky trails… Bollox…

Let us have a look at Pharmaceutical companies and what they are charging for ‘life saving’ drugs……
    things to consider –
    1. How effective are they at curing people?? or is it that they just reduce symptoms?
    2. How much do they actually cost to develop and produce?

I am not saying this is the best or only fix, but it needs major consideration.

The reason I love the hills and mountains:
You rarely get a crowd, inparticular one that could flare into a mob in seconds.

    I ride my bike
    ALOT
    sometimes road
    sometimes MTB
Sometimes I even get my DH bike out – though this has happen threee times in 2.5 years as I live in Lincolnshire now (one of the times was 2 weeks ago)
    this probably isnt helping

who does better at 12/24 hour events.

The drug trafficking side of her I really do not like and it will never go away in my mind.
But it made me smile that she came and had a go for her dying partner – and she came back with all her original style, personality and foibles on top of that without training, on an unfamiliar bike she nailed it
    You ‘gotta’ respect that.

Drive over the Belach na Ba to Applecross very pretty area.
go round the coast there upto Shieldaig then to Torridon,
From their head for Gairloch pretty town that is worth a look about
For Grockling/beer drinking Ullapool is always good (some pretty good riding there if you look as well) The Ferry Boat inn has excellent food and beer
the Seaforth is good for Fish and chips, beer and often has live music on.
I have cycled to Kylestrom from Ullapool and back – it is a pretty route but North of there I do not know much until you get up to Tongue but friends say Durness is amazing
Tongue and Bettyhill are both lovely with great beach areas/views.

My Dad went out to a DIY shop to buy some doors for the new upstairs extension
He came back with a very nice BBQ and some steaks to cook on it.
My mother (whom I had never heard swear before) took objection to this with a major league WTF??
My Dad’s response was they were out of stock of the doors (to this day I have no idea whether he was telling the truth or not.

My wife and I were looking at new cars and went to look at a Skoda Yeti to assess it for size and if it would fit our needs. We came away having bought an Octavia Scout….. that was £5k above the budget my missus had originally laid out.

    economic development hmmmm
    – one of the shittest biggest problems with our society; everyone (I may be exagerating here) thinks they should earn a million quid a week for doing nothing (that may be untrue also but hopefully you catch my drift).
Not everything should be developed for ecomnomic or any other reason otherwise London would be 94,058 mi²
I am not averse to development and I have not read that document but not everything should be used for putting pounds in someones pocket

get a road bike and pedal
keep pedalling – go fast and go long get used to pedalling hard for a long time
oh and pedal and pedal and pedal
join a road club that goes out on hard fast rides (eg a chain gang that do a 50 to 60 miler on a saturday morning – these hurt alot to start with but as you get fitter they still hurt alot)
    keep pedalling alot
due to work I had to move to lincolnshire – I did the above and can more often than not beat my mates up long climbs in Scotland these days (they all ride hills)
I am still struggling on short fast steep stuff – but am working on it.

At least it was exceptional performances that placed the nominees on the list (despite it not having one of this bunch Carpenter, Bryceland, Atherton on the list)
Was there any mention in the show of the Outstanding performance of the British Downhill team at the World Championships who literally blew the world away ???

No ??? am not surprised .. it used to be a celebration of British Sportsman competing and winning at the highest levels .. what is it now?? poop.

Why dont we fit all cars with Interlock (or similar), it would stop drink driving instantly.
As such save money within the NHS, Police time and effort catching people, cost in the courts when a DD has been caught
and most importantly it would stop people getting killed by a drink driver

obviously no one would ever disengage this device.

having been hit by a hit and run, drink driver anything to stop the pain and heart ache the victim and their families go through is for the good of humanity.

Safety in Numbers – ride in a big group and ride where you please
or go stealthy ride those same routes on your own and ride fast

    that is the way forward

Lincoln is alright, though you might have to go via Newark.
Good pubs at the top of town for real ale and plenty of cafes for cake all over the place.
Steep hill tea shop near Wig and Mitre serves a great afternoon tea, sandwhichs scones and cake with tea or coffee…
5th best coffee shop in the world.
Cathedral and Castle are both worth a walk around.
Burger Company, Zizzis Wagamamas et al all on the Brayford wharf if that is your need for food.

    awesome event.
I have raced 10s and 12s solo and 24s in teams of three and four but never solo.
flipping tough climbing course. at 6am I had completely broken after 15 laps. my support team fed me and forced me to sleep for 30mins and bullied me back out on my bike. I did not think I could make the 19laps that was the height of everest climbed at that point.
4 laps later I finished – 19 laps complete 5th in 35-39cat and 55th in the world! I need to race more 24 Solos!
