voodoo – i still have scar tissue attached to the bone which if worked on would reduce the pain apparently. I too have the go for a hill walk can’t walk the day after syndrome. Just out of interest who did your surgery? Only asking as it took 2 weeks for them to find somebody who would attempt mine. Also a surgeon in Stafford said i should remove the pins and plate, been advised not to take this route. 8)

I went to see an osteopath for my back and she said that with some very painful work on it she could reduce the pain in about 5 sessions and then i would just need top up treatment every few months.

My problem is i am a plumber so always kneeling down and putting extra pressure on a broken part!

looking forward to ankle replacements becoming as common as knee and hip ones

I don’t take any pain relief as it does not touch the everyday pain, and i have an addictive personality! I threw a wobbler when they took the strong tramadols away!! It is like walking around with a twisted ankle all the time.
9 years on i have nearly started to get used to it.

I crushed my heel and broke my talus into 4 pieces. 6 pins and a plate in there now. Lost about 50% of total ankle movement.9 years on it still fu@king hurts everyday. I still bike but not as often as i would like due to life!
I ride a 5spot now but keep trying hardtails but the lack of rear suspension goes right through the ankle joint.

Go and see an osteopath. Tried lots of other types of treatment but it worked for me. It also bloody hurt, but felt 10 times better the next day!

I drove from Devon to Stafford on tuesday to get my golf sdi repaired. It need a full exhaust and cat, rear springs, anti roll bar bushes and drop links and rear discs and pads and 2 abs sensors. Including parts, labour and fuel it cost £550. Bargain

Finding a good mechanic is hard. I also think it is mad that i can drive 500 mile return journey and save myself £300 over local garages.

It is a 2000 X reg estate, so i think it is the 150 bhp model. 102000 miles, service history to 90000, so due a service. 12 months mot and 6 months tax. Swapping it for my 1998 T4 plus cash my way. I do not need the T4 anymore. The chap who i may do the deal with says £20 to a 100 mile driving normally.

I am just about to go back to fox forks from dt swiss. I have loved the dt’s but fox are easier to home service, no special tools needed that you can’t get hold of anyway!

I was on them 9 years ago for 2 years and had to stop taking them as it changed me. Went cold turkey and felt better within 4-5 days, although the pain in my foot started to come back. I don’t take anything now for the pain just try and live with it.
I know how you feel.
