Sonor – the new blue colour appears to be a gloss finish – as per the photos on here
Sorry, it's gloss. 😳
A couple of pics, Unfortunately my sh*t camera seems to lighten everything, it's actually a bit darker blue.
SonorFree MemberJust bought a Breath frame, but its a 16". I was expecting the colour to be "racing green" (last years colours) as it was in a sale, and was surprised to have a nice 2010 matt blue frame turn up for a price considerably less than CRC are selling them for.
Unfortunately it seems the bike shop have corrected this oversight on their website and priced it the same as CRC.
Peter Poddy or Alpin are you men to find out how they ride long term.
SonorFree MemberHamilton and Vettel only got a reprimand for their antics in the pit lane.
SonorFree Memberit's way off track so to speak, and I would be careful who I told in fear of the 'sanitisation police' getting wind of it, and implementing their 'road bike' strategy to it. I'm sure you know where it all is though.
What a load of cods wallop. What you should say is after "I've ruined it by not building it properly, I'll just move on to another part of someone else's woods and do the same."
SonorFree MemberI did but you picked up the baton nicely
Not if it's been in your hands.
SonorFree MemberI think BKB is getting a lot of publicity since the reworking, people travel as hora has said, perhaps from London, expecting to find a section of trail, shorter of course, but perhaps similar in technicality to say, end of Whites Level in Wales; where there is some line choice necessary, a few obstacles to contend with, options to hook off some rideable lips etc. Only, to find a bit of natural at the top, going into huge berms with quite frankly nothing after but surfaced straights.
Erm, people have always travelled from London and as far as I know it was never advertised as what your describing, so the idea of finding a whites level style ride would be in their minds. But a very good "veiled critique" of the trail there.
SonorFree MemberWell it is near London. The place where you do tend to find selfish, wahey look at me tools in some bars etc etc.
But then you left.
SonorFree MemberI keep on seeing fullface dh boys around this area, i think they think BKB is some sort of full on downhill track.
Maybe Howard at Pedal and Spoke in Peaslake may know, that shop seems to attract the rad-core-gnarl-fest riders!
It would appear that the shop opening last year and the appearance of boys on DH rigs in the area are not mutually exclusive.
As it is we had to fight to get the big exciting berms – without the contribution of enthusiastic volunteers it would have got built with walking pace flat switchbacks. Similarly the Yogurt Pots story could have been different and a lot of that roller-coaster flow would not be there.
I'm curious about who you had to fight with to get the berms. Was Hurtwood not that keen? I can imagine switchbacks wouldn't have been exciting. Yoghurt pots has a nice flow to it.
SonorFree MemberFor f*ck sake, what kind of c*nt would do that on a trail used by all types of riders?
SonorFree MemberIt's closing due to major forestry work, but apparently will be coming back bigger and better.
I hope they keep sidewinder.
SonorFree MemberI run my own wholesale business, it's amazing what people want to do with no knowledge. The same people wouldn't dream of coupling two bits of 15mm copper pipe with a compression joint, and why 'because it might drip on the carpet' At least with electrics there's no mess if you get it wrong
Water damage to carpets and furniture is far worse than possible fires or electrocution, didn't you know? 😉
Bit like saying a qualification or 5 makes you a instalation electrician (which it does ) but not a domestic electrician unless you have "part P
We still have the same people now doing electrical work before Part P was introduced. Only now they can self-certify their f*ck ups. 🙄
SonorFree MemberI took my Giant trance 100mm travel to Morzine and did the pass portes Du Soleil. I just upgunned the front disk stuck downhill tubes in, put Schwalbe alberts on and that was it. Bought some elbow/shin pads and a full face helmet.
The first afternoon I was there I was in the bar when the rest of the group turned up and wanted to try Le Plenney. I'd had a pint at this point. It was good fun. Although a downhill run it was rideable for someone who doesn't even get small air, in fact the only injury I picked up on that tripped was leaning over to take my pads off at the bottom of le Plenney and getting a belt off the electric fence keeping the cows in. 😳
SonorFree MemberYou all have varying degree's of Cross-dominance.
I can perform certain tasks with my right hand and others with my left, but can also perform some equally with both hands.
I hold the fork and write with my write hand, use a mouse with both, aim with my left eye, use tools/delicate work with both hands and used both feet equally when playing football.
One of the downsides apparently that cross-dominance can manifest itself is by making people look a little clumsy, particularly when sport is involved, which might explain my riding sometimes.(Thats my excuse) 😉
No one here so far is completely ambidextrous which is actually a rare occurrence in people.
SonorFree MemberErm, it's Wales, a really rainy part of a rainy island as a whole.
SonorFree MemberClean and use Brunox Deo fork lube.*
*Even though this product works well, it can be seen as a bit "poncy" using dedicated fork lubes. 8)
SonorFree MemberI have one which was used to transport my 16" Giant to the Alps. It survived Easyjets baggage handlers.
It's a bottomless pit, pretty good for the money.
SonorFree MemberDestroy the whole Building from 30,000ft up.
I'd use one of these:
Although, I don't know which version.
AC-130H Spectre[30]
* 1× 40 mm (1.58 in) L/60 Bofors cannon
* 1× 105 mm (4.13 in) M102 howitzerAC-130U Spooky II
* 1× 25 mm (0.984 in) 5-barrel GAU-12/U Equalizer Gatling gun
* 1× 40 mm (1.58 in) L/60 Bofors cannon
* 1× 105 mm (4.13 in) M102 howitzerSonorFree Memberthe obvious question of "haven't you got any real criminals to catch?" springs to mind.
How the hell would they be able to imprison the entire population? 😉
SonorFree MemberSaw a couple of Badgers in Richmond Park a few nights back. One ran along side me(scared the bejesus out of me) and later on one looking for food in front of me on the trail.
I stopped as it ignored me even though it was bathed in my light. It then froze for a few seconds, then turned it's head and looked at me and wandered off into the undergrowth.
SonorFree MemberDreadful in the electrical trade, really bad.
With people not buying, no extensions, conservatories, re wires etc. What part of the country are you in? Seems to be business as usual around my neck of the woods(Surrey). Was ticking over up to July last year, then it took off and we've been busy ever since(Retail/commercial Electrical installation/Maintenance).
SonorFree MemberOr at the crossroads take the small track slightly to your left through the rhododendrums and it brings you out further up the fire road that leads to the reservoir……
That ones gone too.
SonorFree MemberThe current drawn by a 9.5KW shower is 39.6 Amps. The maximun current carrying capacity of a 6mm cable is 34 Amps*. A 10mm cable has a capacity of 45 Amps*.
Being a little pedantic here, but its 230Volts these days not 240volts, so it would work out at 41.3Amps.
SonorFree Membernor Dave. Although he does have a mighty fine voice
The Damned were a pub rock band that caught on the first wave of punk (after all, New Rose was the first punk single ever released). As their sound morphed into something more psychedelic with the release of The Black Album, their image morphed with it. A more "gothic" album cover I doubt you could find; DV always did the 'Dracula' look but none of the other members of the band did. Sensible would often be seen on stage wearing a tutu…
But I'd still call them a 'punk' band rather than 'goth'
I'd agree with that. Sometimes sensible appeared on stage with no trousers, we did enjoy throwing bottles at him though.
Spot the airplane:
This was a little Gothic, well the imagery was.
SonorFree MemberPlenty of cowboys will do a half arsed job with a cheap consumer unit for a lot less of course, as evidenced above by the look of it.
The phrase "pay peanuts, you get monkeys" I think is appropriate here. As oldgit says, there's an awful lot of cheap stuff out there at the moment, made by companies who might not be around in the future.
Some of the monkeys that occupy one of the wholesalers I use I wouldn't trust to sweep the streets. 🙄
Use Hager, Wylex, MEM or MK and a good Electrician to do it as well.
SonorFree Memberall this talk of disowned. Lets talk about owning someone now!
With Bombers? I could do that to a few family members, alive or otherwise.
SonorFree MemberScudo/expert/dispatch is all I can think of
Three seats, yes. Three people seated in those seats…very intimate.
My medium sized vivaro has three seats, but you'd only get a couple of supermodels in side by side.
SonorFree Member(edit – I would do a discreet mini-cap-doff to people who put the effort into building trails – it shows a passion and commitment for the sport while most of us simply go and ride what someone else has toiled over)
Passion and commitment, but also a complete and utter disregard for anyone other than themselves.
SonorFree MemberPosted 14 years agoSonorFree MemberThat's completely unreasonable you ****. More rubbish in the canal.
If you're going to do that sort of thing, at least ask if there's anyone in the neighbourhood trying to dispose of some kittens at the same time.
Wrong end of the stick firmly grasped.
SonorFree MemberSonor – From what I see at the auctions there isn't a great deal between the prices of transits and vivaro/trafics. Transits do tend to be slightly lower but at this kind of age the value is so low that the differences are pretty small.
Ah, Auctions…
SonorFree MemberOk, i've put the original chainring back on and its a hell of a lot better.
Ordered the Right manufacturer, wrong chainring by the looks of it. 😳
Thanks Gents.
SonorFree MemberI've got one which I use for work. Only got the base model, but it goes pretty well.
Apart from servicing, In the almost two years I've had it, I've replaced the track rods on the steering after they got a little noisy and the alternator packed up. Changed the cambelt, more of a precaution as the previous Vauxhall dealer who serviced it didn't mark down it had been changed and didn't want to divulge any info when we rang them.
I haven't had any problems with the gearbox/Clutch(97000miles) but these vans lean on the brakes quite hard, which means the pads and discs need changing fairly often. This van is used everyday however.
Drives very much like a car.
Price wise it'd be a lot for a bare van, I'd expect a standard van with those details to be around 2500-3000 so it depends what value you put on the interior.
These vans are just as numerous than the fords, yet for some reason are more expensive to buy.
SonorFree MemberCan anyone locate this member via the web?, so that we can track them down and put them on trial for Crimes Against Kleinanity.
I'm generally against the death penalty, but really, 'angings too good fer 'im!+1. Singlespeed a Klein? Sacrilege! 😡
SonorFree MemberConverted one of my Lumi cans using Chucky's instructions. Triple XPG but with an XPE optic and a 650ma driver board from black cat.
Works beautifully, does get a little warm on the can when tested in a warm house(the house was also not moving at the time), but nice and cool when on the bike.
Converting my Lumi HID next.
SonorFree MemberThe Focus is not as convenient for bikes, but is quieter and less tiring on long motorway journeys, and in equivalent driving gets 55-65mpg whereas the Berlingo got 30-40.
I thought Ford and Citreon/Peugeot used the same Diesel engines.
