It's never muddy enough for mud tyres on those hills.

Speaking personally at least, a gas boiler is somewhat different. Rather easier to have a non-obvious leak etc. – whereas with electrics, given I've put together electrical kit as part of my job I feel relatively competent to do household electrics, despite not having the qualification.

Gas, Electricity = equally dangerous. Little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Having recieved some quite extortionate quotes from Electricians I'm intending to do the wiring myself (for the record i'm no professional but am fairly confident with domestic wiring)

Define extortionate. These are qualified people and you don't see people doing a diy job on a gas boiler, they'd get a gas fitter in to fit it.

Did it as a pair a few years ago and it's certainly harder than solo. You come back from blasting around the course all sweaty and then the chill hits you, best to get have a few changes of clothing and something to warm wrap yourself up in while you are waiting.

Millin was surprised not to have been shot, and he mentioned this to some Germans who had been taken prisoner.

They said that they had not shot at him because they thought he had gone off his head.

'Babe on Board' leads to disappointment practically every time.

Unless they're referring to the pig of course.

    Very good.

My only problem with the "baby on board sign" is that the car owners usually stick attach it the wrong windscreen.

Are we buying tyres because they are esthetically pleasing these days? 😉

You could try this fellow: Simon Waller 07970 515263. He does Kitchen and bathroom refurbs, plumbing, tiling and carpentry.

He is as mad as a box of frogs, but whenever I have worked on the same sites as him he does a good job.

If they are like my Reba's you will need to open them up and remove the plastic spacer attached to the shaft on the air side of the fork. My forks are from 2005, so when i removed the spacer the travel only increased by 15mm to 115mm, I think it's 120mm max on newer reba's these days.

I actually bought some ver cheap air Recons a while back that were as dry as Ghandis sandals inside when I opened them up, and felt terrible to use (Hence the cheapness)

Bit of a long shot, I've got a pair of cheapy recons(327's) on my Sanderson, pulled them apart and serviced them, but I'm now getting what is referred to as "hydrolock" where the damping oil is leaking passed the inner o ring seal around the damping shaft and into the bottom of the fork.

Does anyone know what size this o ring is and where to get them from?

You need to join up with these fellows:

They live in and around Epsom and do rides from the Epsom area and out to the Surrey hills.

Seems like a good excuse to post a pic of some drums…

Just hauled them out of storage to start playing again, last played them 12 years ago.

Has anyone tried moongel damper pads?

And you really don't want to ask anyone who lives there about the trams (bro' lives in Leith & reckons everyone in W Lothian could have had free bus travel for 12 years for what they've cost and they're not even running yet)

I know someone working on getting it up and running, considering it costs the taxpayer two hundred million a year to fund free bus travel for the over sixties in Scotland, I think 545million for something that will be around for decades is a small price.

One of the biggest problems is the premier league. If the likes of Lampard, Milner, Upson, Johnson, Heskey, etc are the best we've got because of the diminishing amount of English players playing at the highest level, then as seen on Tv we're in trouble.

I also think that the Manager has upset the self-centered prim-ma donas by actually introducing a more disciplined regime compared to the Mc Claren period.

The two (probably soon to become one) aircraft carriers won’t be nuclear powered or possess steam catapults (a British invention ffs).

The aircraft that will supposedly fly from the carriers will be flown by the RAF whose requirement is to have these aircraft perform the same role as the Harriers were originally intended, thats why the version we may be buying is STOVL. A bit pointless these days if you ask me.

The carriers have space on board for cat and trap and there's space for an extra gas turbine to power it.

I find it funny when people call stuff like this a waste of money, £1bn a pop? Small price to pay to maintain control of the seas upon which billions of pounds worth of trade sail over to and from the UK.

The Ambush is going to be an impressive piece of kit, but why we are building it, and what we are going to do with it are a mystery to me when we have nothing for it to do.

After the sinking of the belgrano the Argentinian fleet rushed back to port. By having submarines, you deny an opponent access to the sea and to try and counter a sub will cost a huge amount of money.

HMS Astute is already in the water:

Personally I chose Surbiton for ease of commute – can ride into Bank in London in well under an hour, frequent trains and is 20 mins from Waterloo (where someone above got Esher as 20 I don't know), and by car it's around 25-30 mins to the start of the Surrey Hills riding. Furthest reasonably as a 34 year-old chap I'd want to be out of London as I'd go mental without the social aspects. Can still get to the riding easily enough.

Suburbiton is great if you want to get into London quickly, or out to the Surrey hills. Note that what I have written is all about getting way from Suburbiton and to interesting destinations.

Am i able to replace this BB with a new slx/xt external type?

I don't see why not. you'll need one of these to get the old BB out.

And one of these to fit the new external bb.

First have a look at the service manual here.(just after step 10)

There is a plastic spacer you can remove, but it does mean dismantling your forks, or you could get them serviced and have them remove the spacer for you.

When I've done it I've found people, even those who are seriously racing to be quite relaxed. When I had people coming up behind, I wait until I can pull over to one side and let them go.

The German boys in 05 had sirens on their bikes, they didn't speak English though.

Wouldn't be much training. Instead of getting all that expensive equipment out, all you would need to do is go to the kitchen, open the drawer and get the can opener out.

Got a belt off an electric fence keeping the cows in at the bottom of Le Plenney in Morzine. I bent over to take my leg armour off and my arse touched the fence. Quickest I'd moved all day.

Also had a couple of mains belts after my esteemed and more experienced colleague had managed to turn back on the circuit I was going to working on.

As you can imagine I make damn sure it's off and locked these days.

Rode Pitch, Holmbury etc today, and whilst brilliant fun, it was quite depressing how many of the trails have suffered straight lining. Part of the problem is people insist on riding stuff like Xmas Pudding all year round, and then bypass the muddy puddles which when dry create the character of the trail but instead straitline them.

That is the case on a lot of the trails, but with the likes of BKB a lot is also down to people riding it on big rigs and as one LBS owner in the area with DH racing experience says they simply haven't learned to take corners on such bike bikes, so they straightline.
