Arsenal have been the best run club in the EPL. Look at Man U Man City and Chelseas debts- Hundred of millions of pounds – the sooner UEFA get tough on this and kick financially unviable teams out of europe the better.
Uefa are going to prevent teams from entering European competitions if they “spend more than they earn.” This will mean the likes of Arsenal and a number of other clubs in Europe should be able to compete again, instead of it being which English/Spanish/Italian clubs wins this year.
SonorFree MemberWhile I can’t comment on how the software works, it may be worth posting on these forums:
SonorFree MemberNo wonder this country is in a mess, everyones getting wound up over irrelevant issues. 😉
(I’m surprised no one has mentioned use of emoticons yet.) 😡
SonorFree MemberAre you trying to tell me this didn’t happen?
That’s my childhood ruined.

Quite funny if it weren’t for the fact that its my team thats signed him. Still it can’t get more stranger than the “guns in the boardroom” incident a few years back.
SonorFree MemberGary Numan at the Sheperds Bush empire in Spetember and hopefully the Damned at the Camden roundhouse in November.
Old Skool.
SonorFree MemberI used that conversion guide to do one of my Lumi cans, including the Traction control gear “heatsink”. Triple XPG with a 680ma driver from blackcat.
I’ve got a 970ma driver which I’m looking to use in my Lumi HID. I bought a heatsink from someone off here, I can’t remember who, this fits the HID can. I think this combined with the HID can should provide an effective heatsink, along with heatsink compound of course.
I presume stuffing a 970ma driver into a lumi halogen can is causing them to fail due to heatsink issues?
SonorFree MemberSome up to date info from here:

SonorFree MemberStill got my 1st gen trance, apart from it being a little heavy, Its a great bike.
SonorFree MemberI always say it, but Nobby Nics are easily the worst tyres I’ve used. Utter guff.
In your opinion of course. Me on the other hand use them and have had no such issues. But tyres are a personal thing and you need to find what you are most comfortable with.
SonorFree MemberYou could always invade, cough, sorry, visit the czech republic and slovakia.
SonorFree MemberThere may be one or two of the latest Type 45 destroyers moored up down at Portsmouth.
SonorFree MemberWD40 is not really a lubricant.
Okay…silly question, but would Turtle Wax be a bad thing to put on your stanctions?
😯
SonorFree MemberI use Brunox Deo lube for the same effect and it’s recommended by Rockshox (hopefully won’t cause failure or invalidate warranty if failure)
JE James has it for about 4.5 quid.+1.
SonorFree MemberElf – just read the thread, count the number of folk who own faultless wheels and the number who own faulty wheels.
Just like to add that the rear wheel I bought off them has given me no grief whatsoever.
SonorFree MemberChristams trees ….really.
I have had one bulb fail without the whole lot going …. even used a set 6 months ago with missing bulbs.
In the olden days Xmas lights were wired in series, there are still a few around, but with LED Xmas lights they are parallel.
Make sure your dimmer is resistive, not inductive. Check that your two way dimmer is 400W per dimmer,
you can only have one dimmer switch on a two way
Which means that the other switch down the other end of the room should be a normal two way switch.
And as said before, some dimmers do buzz a bit.
SonorFree MemberWas just some lads having fun on there bikes, its not reflecting badly on anyone.
Being a little more discreet would be good.
SonorFree MemberIs udder man the pratt who would get out of the way?
Udder man was one of the first people to fight for improved access for mountain bikers on Leith hill, by working with the land owners, so I can imagine he’d be a bit peeved if there are any more stunts like this as while it may only be a minority doing it, it reflects badly on all.
SonorFree MemberWhat Alpin said.
My XT rear hub exploded spectacularly(well seized)due to lack of maintenance, the quick release took off into the woods never to be found again.
I only use Cup and cones on the front now and cartridge on the back.
SonorFree MemberFrom what i understand there are approximately 50 mountainbike members and around 500 walking members at the moment. If another 500 mountainbikers joined the FOTH surely that would be enough money to fund another full time ranger and maybe progress things more towards the right direction ?
It doesn’t work that way and it never will.
SonorFree MemberCan anyone who has the knowledge explain about the damage to authorised trails and what’s going on with it? Logging has at the very least severely altered the nature of the trails and if they’re not already ruined, most will suffer really badly when the weather turns. I don’t know if the Friends can even fix them but I’ve wondered for a while what sort of talks have gone on over the mess that’s been made.
While I’m not in a position to speak about the machinations of the land owners and FOTH, there are differences in opinion about the use of mountain bike trails on Hurtwood land. Not from the landowners themselves or from FOTH personnel however.
BKB was always going to be a difficult trail to protect and the Forestry personnel did a reasonable job, an improvement over what happened to reservoir dogs last year. You will also note that no tree thinning happened close to the new ending of BKB, that’s because it was Surreyhills AONB money that was used to build it and they wouldn’t have been too happy if that part of the trail got damaged. So it got left alone.
We are also seeing more deer locally as they are being forced out by a landowner that claims to be leaving the area for air and exercise for all
On the contrary, once you start thinning out the forestry this gives more sunlight access to the forest floor and as a result more undergrowth will grow, resulting in an increase in the numbers of deer feeding on it. You are seeing more deer because of the increase of food.
It all seems to be managed a lot better at Swinley with Gorrick/Crown estate by comparison.
Swinley is partially paid for by having the lookout(Bracknell council)/go ape type stuff on crown land. Other money comes from the permit money that Mountain bikers should pay when they use the land, this covers insurance and Trail maintenance costs I’m led to believe.
Thats how i always thought it should be done! theres no evidence of replanting yet though
Replanting only happens a few years after the trees are cleared. Some of the areas that are now de-forested will stay that way.
oh and the amount of logging on winterfold is thoroughly depressing.
Only the top of Winterfold is looked after by FOTH. What the landowner does in his part of the woods is up to him.
Some of the trails have gotten so wide (e.g. BKB) that they could do with being closd for a bit.
As long as there is a decent attitude towards building/resurrecting trails after logging, then I’ll remain a member. There is a decent attitude from FOTH, now I know some will point out the recent closure of a trail on Holmbury hill, but FOTH has stated that no new trails are allowed to be built. The hills are for all users, not a free for all for mountain bikers.
With regards to whether you become/stop being a member, the money you pay will be used to fund the upkeep of the land for all users.
SonorFree MemberThe closest I’ve seen combat was band of brothers, which the combat footage reminded me of.
With all the technology, the laser guided bombs dropped from thousands of feet up by sophisticated jets, the UCAV’s firing hellfire missiles, the Tlam’s fired from hundreds of miles away, all this stand off weaponry, but to actually do the job it takes a soldier to do the same thing soldiers from history have done.
It’s boots on the ground as always. It’s good that soldiers can now use technology to show the public what it’s like.
SonorFree MemberHad trouble with ordering online, the secure webpage kept on kicking me out, so phoned them up and ordered over the phone. Can’t complain as the parcel arrived exactly when they said it would.
SonorFree MemberBeen running a rear wheel(XC717) with Switch hub for about two months with no problems.
SonorFree MemberWell I’m surprised he has enough time to play anyway
It appears that he had lots of time to play.
SonorFree MemberArsenal – could drop out of the top 4 but I have thought that for a few years now
I think it will come back to Arsenal, once the Uefa ruling about not spending more than you earn ruling starts to kick in properly.
SonorFree MemberMy newly promoted club has billionaires fighting over it to gain control at the moment, one of them worth more than that Russian at Chelsea and the Dude funding City.
So a relatively small club gets millions spent on it to bring in players on inflated wages all to hopefully achieve mid-table supremecy at best.
It’s going to end in tears.
SonorFree MemberJust lost my last cat a few weeks back, 18 years old, kidneys failing, lost weight and spent most of the day asleep. Took him to the vet and they found a lump on his liver(cancer) and that was that.
The vet was absolutely brilliant saying we had brought him in at the right time as she had seen other cats whose owners had left it too long. Very quick at putting him down and very professional. Even got a sympathy card through the post the next day.
On the plus side, the wildlife has returned to the garden.
SonorFree MemberAccording to this the YHA at the bottom of Holmbury hill allows camping.
SonorFree MemberI think hope and the OP’s statement “I don’t want to pay a fortune” don’t go together. 😉
I have recently bought a superstar rear wheel, Evo hub/XC717/Sapim spokes, no problems so far.
It’s a shame they don’t do XM317 rims as I thought EN321’s were for freeride type stuff?
SonorFree MemberI did the PPDS a few years back on a 4″ trail bike, which to me was perfect as it is quite a long route and you have to consider the lifts will close at a specific time. I did use elbow/shin pads and a full face helmet, more of a confidence thing, but plenty of people didn’t.
I just upped the rotor size on the front of the bike and put downhill tubes in and big tyres and cable tied my quick releases.
Aside from the PPDS, you probably need to ask you associates what kind of riding you are going to be doing there as well. I did the downhill runs on my bike, but there were quite a few things that would have befitted have something with more travel…and brave pills.
SonorFree MemberGet a decent quality rear hub. I’m not particularly keen on cup and cone rear hubs of any kind, the abuse the rear hub takes is considerable, on the front however they have been faultless.
SonorFree MemberThe whole thing is ridiculous as they can happily trash vast parts of the forest for logging then a poxy little trail that has no impact on anyone gets done over and looks even more of a mess now!
The point being missed is the landowners do not want any new trails on THEIR land. If they leave it in a mess, which is inevitable due to it also being a commercial forest, it’s their prerogative.
SonorFree MemberThey don’t even need KERS. All the other teams should be very, very scared.
Nah. What Webber had over the others was the soft tyre worth a second a lap over the hard compound. Great drive by Webber though.
SonorFree MemberIt would probably be an idea to email them. I emailed them a few times when I was building up my Sanderson and got pretty quick replies.
SonorFree Memberif you can find some ceramic-use brake pads then you’ll be laughing!
+1. Fewer and fewer places are stocking them anymore.
