Most DOC campsites are between $8 and $20 if you want a nice campsite though look for TopTen they are awesome but more like $35 a night some have swimming pools and spas.

Food is a but more but not 30% more. Pak’n’save is the cheapest supermarket but not great quality.

Depends where you’re going to. Welly is a fair bit cheaper than Auckland and the South Island all depends if you’re on the tourist trail or not.

$75 should be enough if you don’t want too much booze!

I’m 6’1″ and ride the XL 58cm Tiagra spec alloy grade.
Here it is at the Dorset Gravel Dash:

I only use it with knobby tyres now as I have a road bike, I wish it had more clearance for a bigger rear tyre, but other than that its a great bike.

Picassa is good at this, it will sort by date taken or by the person in the photo using facial recognition.

I always wanted a Gt Zaskar back in 1996/97

I owned an LE version in 98/99 but that was stolen :(

Now I want a Singular Kite frameset:

For an online form you want to build something in php? With a mySQL database backend?

If it’s over a network build a c# app. If you’re not sure, are really the right person to be asking?

    Idiot.

Sounds like a Google form may just suit you perfectly.

I had to put a shorter stem on my Grade, I think they spec quite long ones, so try that, then flip their stem if its the right length.

Love my Grade, it’s done thousands of miles only niggle i have is the rear tyre clearance is pretty poor.

You wouldn’t have heard of the PLBs that didn’t work, would you?

    I think I would.
And you can get a hand-held class D DSC VHF.

My favourite reply when being told ‘You shouldn’t be riding here’
‘Yeah I know,I killed someone down here last week’

I would second a PLB also does your hand-held VHF have a DSC button?

    http://www.force4.co.uk/department/electronics/vhf/handheld-vhf-radios/standard-horizon-hx870e-floating-class-d-dsc-handheld-vhf-wi.html

Don’t discount PLB’s they save people’s lives every year at sea and a very effective. I don’t think I have heard of one not working if it has been to hand.

Could save time letting people know where you are.

A mobile phone should always be a backup to VHF then PLB.

It takes 35mm tyres max without guards with poor mud clearance, but thats not really what it’s for.

This is the big downside to my Grade, I’m sure GT said they would take 38s, my alloy one struggles with 35mm and has already taken some paint of the chainstays where the tyre rubs.

If you do go for a Grade make sure you know what tyres you want to fit and whether you’ll need lots of mud clearance.

It was pretty serious, we live in Lyall Bay, Wellington. So evacuated as there was a risk of a tsunami. We headed for the nearest hill after the first big shake. We spent the night up there in our camper until the all clear.

Most offices seem shut in central Welly and we are working at home.

I think the Roxy was one of the safest places to be Pomona! I dread to think what state the trails are in up in the hills. There must be a few dig days planned.

The communications were pretty poor though at first we were told there was no tsunami risk then just to the “South Coast” which wasn’t very specific to either island. Then evacuate immediately, most people waited for this last message which was about an hour after the first shake.

I wonder if you could accurately control a little motor with a Raspberry Pi, and make your own. Rather than relying on a quartz mechanism. I would be looking for motors with very small accurate movements.

I have these on my drop barred bikes.
    https://triggerbell.com/

It’s be re-designed a couple of times and is much more ergonomic in my mind.

Great sound, much louder than most bells, people actually jump if I need to ding them, even with headphones on.

I have just looked at this for my wife, we decided on a Claris spec Salsa Vaya. I’m not sure they bring the complete bikes into the UK though, we are in NZ where the complete bikes are incredibly good value for money. The Vaya can take 40mm tyres and comes fitted with WTB NanoRaptors so it’s a bit more burly than a road bike.

No he rode his Salsa Fargo down to the shops and back from Banff, Alberta, Canada to the Mexico/USA border!

I would second dmorts, unless that laptop comes with a tiny SSD HDD. In that case I would probably just have Ubuntu as everything you want will run fine in it.

Found a 1998 Cannondale F2000 for not much at all, I used to have one in Viper red in 1998. So couldn’t resist, its seen better days and I don’t ride it much but one day I may get it resprayed and upgrade the odd selection of bits that are on it at the moment.

My finger nail dropped off recently after trapping it spokes.

It went black and after 3 weeks the new nail growing underneath pushed it off. So for about 3 weeks I had half a nail and half with just tough skin.

I don’t know if toenails work the same though.
