Ah, always rely on STW for the dawn patrol of hair-trigger fingers sitting on those flame throwers.

LOL @ Jamie, I like your posts :-D

    TT, yeah, whateva.

KT, I don’t like CBs either, and rarely ride with a backpack.

I like the cut of your jib..
A well worn and loved cycling phrase there…..

    :D

EDIT: Are the jerseys STW forum flame proof ?.

    Pity really.

I’ve two ST jerseys, but I don’t like the elasticated-ness of them, once they ride-up, they stay there rather than dropping back down, as a loose fit jersey does.
They tend not to get used.

Some loose fit jerseys please, STW ?

Just plain wrong in so many ways.

Yes, correct ! (not) as we are all sitting here nodding in agreement about who yields to whom, aren’t we.

Reading Buzz and 10p, I’m starting to be convinced that putting a foot down and leaning out of the way for someone on a descent is probably how I’d like to play it too.

Were I to find myself in that position.

As I posted, the closest I get to this on natural XC trails that have evolved where I ride. Is when the occassional group of riders comes blatting round a bend and then we all have to throw out the anchors to avoid a head on.

Fortunately it doesn’t happen very often, where I ride.

    Oldgit.

Should have gone to spec savers mate.

When you get back from there, read the thread properly and you’ll see that I’m not referring to trail centres or play parks in your ever so manly speak.

And I definately didn’t claim that there is, was or should be an official right of way.

I can only assume that you’re over excited about the increase in your pension, whenever it arrives. This in combination with your inability to read the posts on this thread have resulted in you submitting a silly post.

Do I need to post silly names, or do you get the idea.

    Donk.

No, I’m not trolling. I mostly ride TF, on the none trail side, yet it seems that 95% of the time riders all use the natural trails heading in the same direction.

As I posted, I knew someone would be along to correct/enlighten me, and consistent with this forum, its been done in usual style.

Err. I may have missed something here, and I’m sure there’ll be at least one person one here to point this out, if so…..

But, shouldn’t people descending at speed be on a different trail to those climbing ?.

Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, having two way traffic on one ST.

It can be bad enough on relatively level XC trails when people are pushing on and then round a blind bend to find someone on the trail heading straight at them.

    ???

or are you just in it for the fun and care little about the technical side as long as you can get round the trails?

Yep !, :-) that just about sums it up for me.

Obviously I’m handy enough for what I like to ride, but quite frankly I’m happy just for being on the bike.

Where have you learned of this, linky ?.

Yes, if the FC sells off their land ????, our land ?, then I expect it would reduce access.

Its happened in Thetford Forest. For years I rode the BCP side, had a really good route pinned, then Elveden estate decided to pay a man for 18 months to totally wreck the trails, and no, we’re not allowed to ride there now, as far as I’m aware.

Only did so previously, it now seems, at the LO’s discretion.

We all thought it was FC land.

No idea why Elveden decided to deny access.

Well, I’ve had a quick scan through the thread. I’m sorry iDave’s caps-lock was stuck to ON for a while and I’m sorry Grips can’t get a grip on himself.

For me, I tend to think its better to avoid accumilating excess body fat in the first place, rather than relying on exercise to remove it, so I agree with the OP.
As I posted on the monster thread started by Alexxx.
I do not want to find myself relying on huge amounts of high intensity training to remove excess body fat when I’m older.

I believe you have to get your diet right, first, and in this, iDave’s contribution, as far as I’m concerned, has been welcome and useful.

Furthermore I admire iDaves’ resistance not to post too much about what he has achieved in the past or whatever, and instead has only posted on STW hoping that people on here will just try his advice and read what he posts, perhaps to learn and assess for themselves whether his remarks are sound advice.

Once you’ve got your food and eating sorted out, then I believe that you need to exercise to maintian a postive level of fitness in both mind and body.

Do a bit more of both eating and exercise, if you feel the need to win something.

Getting your diet right, and avoiding excess body fat is a really good idea for any number of reasons, and not just to be Faster on your bike.

    That is all

I think there are rules and the first rule is that you don’t talk about the iDave diet.

Second rule is: No holding of hands !.

    Just kidding
    ;-)

Its bean good for me. When things get hectic, and prep time evaporates, then I just do what I can.

Otherwise, its all good and demonstrates that the advice/guidance kindly provided by Mr iDave, is effective, and that it won’t cause scurvy, hair loss or the gavitational field around you to disappear, only to see you float off into space.

hell of a lot to be honest.
not getting tired on rides, managing to stay nearer the front on group rides without trying too hard.
knees no longer hurting, and i can get in normal size (xxl) cycle clothing now.

    Thats a total winner, imo.

    I agree with Woody.

Yes, STW shouldn't start purging the classifieds to protect the weak, etc, etc.

I was trying to indicate, that imo, classifieds are there for genuine folk, riding bikes, and wanting to sell what they have but no longer need or want, etc.

And that it shouldn't be for Joe the elicit bike breaker to earn a living from, etc.

Not all of us are lucky enough to buy-right first time. We may not be able to send it back, so bung it on the classifieds, and thanks to STW for that.

    That is all.

    :-)

Jamie. But as I posted, perhaps STW didn't set it up for revenue, but rather to attract people to the site (commercial ads on the pages).

Also, additional income streams may bring with it additional admin, etc, which could snow-ball that part of the site into a full-on commercial selling site, which is not what I thought was the idea behind the classifieds.

Like DroFluf's idea, if someone is posting 30 items a month, for sale, then its not exactly someone just clearing out their old parts and spares, is it.

I'd prefer not to see fees, but as with so many things, it may all be dragged down to the lowest common denominator.

Perhaps >30 ads in a month, and a fee is required ?….

    Solo
    Free Member

Premier M's only ?, not sure, Subs Only, maybe.

But if anything is done, it will probably be ad fees.

I'm unsure as to what the original spirit of the classifieds was when it was set up, but if people are just hammering it as an additional outlet for fulltime wheeelin and a deeealin, then thats a pity, imo.

Think I may have used it once, may be twice, and always want to donate as thats what I think you should do, but having the choice to pay or not is good, as if it doesn't sell, it hasn't cost you.

Although I'm a P-Sub, I'm grateful to STW for providing it, even if I hardly use it.

What do you all recomend for breakfast,Ta.

    Beans ?.

Meat and beans, in a dressing ?

    Re-fried beans and meat.

    Small, chilled salad.

Would SO19 be called if someone combined beans and eggs ?
    :-)

I couldn't do the eggs everyday thing, so I turned to the beans. Esp as I don't eat breakfast until I get to work.

So, carry breakfast in plastic lock-n-lock or some such container, within which are beans in a dressing, etc.

Found a nice JO reciepe for a Japanese style dressing, tastes very good.
