Ref Big John’s posts ^^^^^^^ Just find a recipe and modify it.
Obviously some recipes are closer to low GI than others.

I have found the JO website useful, much more so than Hugh’s website.

Don’t forget to look through the monster list of stuff on the BBC food website.

    Spud.
No need to starve dude, more prep.

You’ll live. Like Spud, more prep perhaps.

Home made food tastes the best, imo.

Gram flour is made of Chickpeas. Available in Tesco and Sainsbury’s, ime.

Molgrips. Don’t go on about Germany. I wrote you could have some gram flour if you want to sort it.
    ;-)

    Edit:

Denmark ?, right. Well I’ve no idea on availability there. Good luck.

Others say that he is part man, part Legume.

All we know is,… hes called iDave.

Now getting the hang of these flatbreads – just required a bit of experimenting to get the consistency right.

Yeah, I’ve gone to 130ml water to 100g flour. Was too thick before and was producing iflatbread biscuits.

Can’t really wrap mine around much though as they split and break.
Got to try adding stuff to the mixture though.

I’ve had to buy some new jeans and shorts at the weekend.. Now a 30 waist (which i haven’t been since i was 18!)

    Feels good

Years ago, then GF was making a skirt for her mum. It measured more around the waist that it did in drop.

Since then its made me think that I really mustn’t let the waist measurement exceed inside leg length.

I’ve never claimed to be clever or sane.

    Edit:
i’m going to costco to buy bumper packs of awesome for you all

Thanks, but I’m all stocked up here. TSY and MolGrips can divi my share up between them.

Crap Molly, you’ve got 2 yes votes…. and you promised pics after 3 weeks!

Ahem !, I shall pull rank here as I is a fellow iDave disciple, unlike you TSY ;-)
And you can not deny the logic of an after picture being….err, after and not during.
    :-)

Yep. The bigger question is will it continue to result in weight loss.. it’s definitely getting harder.

What ?, going to try and crack the 0Kg barrier ?. Of course the weight loss is going to stop. Most important thing is not putting it all back on, no ?.

Congrats on cracking the 84Kg barrier. Question now is, can you continue eating this way…. ;-)

Don’t post a pic until you’re ready / have plateaued. Otherwise, whats the point ?, it would be a before and during, not before and after.

    TSY.
Mate, please don’t post that pic again, its nasty.

Its about low GI. so check out the GI rating for said condiments.
    Low is GO
    Medium and High is NO.

However, it seems the theme that one avoids condiments with sugar in them, and IIRC, ketchup has a fair bit of sugar in it.

All this, of course, with respect to the day off where you can drink the stuff if thats your bag.

I’ve found that making my own dressing/sauces has been the key to unlocking the beans/pulses/salads.

STW has become quite a collection of food ideas, albeit that one will now need to do a fair bit of searching and reading.

Oh, while on the subject of flatbread…

Allow me to impart a word to the wise.

You might not want to keep your gram flour in the same type of container as your mustard powder…..

I never used to experience any of the ill effects people talk about from sugar or carbs but now I do

After Saturday, I think I understand what that must be like.
    I just felt strangely uncomfortable.
I’m gonna have to rethink the food for day-off.
    Maximum naughtyness, minimal bulk.
Chips are definately in next Saturday, as may be pizza and……Take away !

But Lordy, no sooner than next Saturday, please.

that’s not really a day off solo – you need a proper go at food. lots of it too, and include bad stuff

    Right then. A proper go:

    2 x Cheese rolls
    2 x Snickers
    1 x Kit Kat
    2 x Small burgers
    Some crisps
    Some chocolate brazil nuts
    some beer
    Maybe some whiskey soon
    Pasta tonight with some ragu.

Phew !, I’ll admit to struggling to get that lot down my neck today so far.
It better flipping vapourize next week though….

Right, I’m off for a beer.

I wonder if there actually is a James on here?

Do real world names count ?.
    ;-)

I’m glad I didn’t suffer any of the symtoms you lot list, when I started on the plan.
Although its not difficult to imagine one’s body putting its parts on if one withdraws the bad carbs.
But as we’re seeing, it all settles down again.

Jenson Button 6′ and 72 Kg. Hhhhmmm. Not sure I’d want to be that lean. Still, if you’re going to strap yourself into a carbon track missile, earn millions and attract the attention of beautiful women.
    Err, hang on a minute….

Not a fleece, its just a LS tech top and the only layer I was wearing on the top half.

I always wear gloves now after a riding buddy thought he’d be trick and activate the lock on his Manitou forks while still riding.

So he reaches down to the bottom of the RH fork leg to twiddle the lock-out, and BANG !, his hand goes into the wheel and the most violent over-the-bars I’ve ever seen happens in an instant.
Man, he went down hard into that asphalt.

It made enough of a mess of his hand as it was. Had he not been wearing gloves the injury would have been mahoosively worse and bloodier.

From that day forward, I’ve always worn gloves, no matter what the weather or the riding.
Those particular items are summer gloves anyway and quite breezy.

That sounds similar to my current situation. I believe I’m around 84Kg, I’m 6’1″. I too would like to get back to around 77 – 79Kg
