What you’re talking about is Demodex – a mite that lives in the hair follicles and as you rightly say, become a problem when there is an immune problem. Stress is obviously a potential cause too so i would be watching out for what could be subtle triggers. I.e. those that may not be too obvious to us humans but extremely obvious and stressful to our pets! (noises, changes in visitors to the house, other pets etc etc)
I would strongly recommend a monthly application of a suitable, prescription only ‘spot on’ that your vet will be able to sell to you. It would be ALOT easier than the weekly shampoo but still effective against this type of mite! It’s very unlikely, but if your vet says they don’t have the ‘spot on’ that would kill that mite….I would be tempted to take my business elsewhere (but that’s just IMO of course)
    Good luck!

I know fish do it as they see it as ‘prey’ – just like the ‘glimmering’ of scales in water/light. Tis the same for any predatory animal really – they enjoy the visual relevance of chasing it!
It’s fabulous exercise for all species noted above btw so keep it up ! Good fun for us AND them ! Yay!

Bad game keeping – simple! No need if all in ‘relative’ balanced harmony. (as much as one can be in ‘managed’ land of course)

    Scumbags in my book…..

You’re going to be fine! I promise! You will actually feel much better for it once your mouth has settled! It does take time , theres no getting by that and of course it aches bit after but you’ll be able to handle that no probs I’m sure!
Good luck (not that you.need it !) 🙂

Track day somewhere? Something like quad biking maybe? All boys like stuff like that and it can become a family event if you want ( although I get the impression it isn’t….)

    Ooooooh…. ^^^^^ he’s good!

Ok Bwaarp here goes – I near enough grew up in a convent and (of course) I love the men people!
    Plan:
1: give your girl time (if you can ) to figure out ‘when’ the quiet times are. This usually takes a few days.
2: once you have times, you need a route! Theres no point in just chosing the obvious …. There will be other girls out there without such loveliness and thus wish to spoil your ‘stay over’. Chose a ‘clever’ route and tell the wife to trust NO-ONE!
3: once you’re in, you need to have a ‘get out plan ‘ organised. A handy hint would be that nuns generally believe all is surrounded by pink and fluffiness along with joy and gayness…… BE that person, FEEL the joy and gayness, YOU ARE the pink and fluffiness!!!!

And lastly good luck! And p.s…… She’s at uni presumably trying to learn something. Don’t f*** it up with lots of distractions 😉

fish are exactly like us im afraid! What tastes good is eaten without question! The important thing is that you feed them high quality food. This means the right food for your fish but of a ‘good’ component quality. I stick to higher quality food as they ‘enjoy’ it but more importantly it’s good ‘for them’. You also don’t want to get them fat with too high a quality food!(hepatic lipidosis is rife in ornamental fish)
There’s no point in buying 1kg of rubbish food that ‘they eat’ but don’t ‘grow’ with……
good luck! and “spend money on your fish and they WILL reward you” 😀
P.S. i am an amatuer – this is just what i have found works for me, it may not work for you….

Saturday spent at Delamere introducing my sister and brother-in-law to cycling in addition to my lovely boyfriend, and it all went fabulously!
Sunday did local trails with the gorgeous boyfriend!

    Couldn’t have been a better week-end, thankyou Martyn! 😉

Sheep poo is the least of your worries, I used to have lovely legs, now covered in scars and constantly bashed, bruised and bloodied.

Oh! So with you on that one! Too much fun to care though eh?! 😀

(cow poo much more exciting anyhow!…..)

I also know a few peeps in south manchester (chorton) that may be interested – will tell em you’re here 🙂
They have the patience of a saint – they allowed me to go out with them without knowing how bad I was!

Good luck and enjoy!!!! (it’s fabulous!)

Have a laugh with the nurses! They are usually a right giggle and have a wonderful sense of humour – helps you be distracted if necessary. I always take my own goody treat as i don’t find the biscuits do it for me. The tea does though 🙂
    Good on ya!

I haven’t read all the thread but to keep it simple ( you ain’t gonna like me I’m afraid) – its all down to calorific intake as you know.
Believe it or believe it not, the calories you are now taking in almost equal the calories you are burning! Which Is why you are now at a plateau. Pleeeeeease don’t skip a meal – the body becomes fooled into ‘starvation’ thus starts to store fats in a different way. Regular feeds is good, just re jig your calorific intake.

Hope this helps and good luck

My bike and the special, lovely people I’ve met because of it!

Also the team I work with every day ….. Speaking to them today about the new bf, looked up from doing a scale and polish on a dog to see: a gay vet and a very young vet care assistant pulling the ‘muscle bound’ ‘pointing directions’ poses at me! Saying “we not good enuf for you?”!

Believd me, it was VERY funny!!!!!! It’s like working with The Waltons!

I also think that ‘you lot’ make me smile too! 😉

That would explain why the salami was a little chewy last night…

No joking around but I could probably put you on to a responsible local BASC insured air rifle shooter that will deal with that for nowt?

I’m doing it for free and can also take it to work to ‘do the deed’ in another humane way. That gun looks like it might just blow a hole in the side of the house anyhow! 😯

Live north manchester and have a trap and bait if to want to borrow it? I had a mare with them in my loft when I first moved in but after dispatching two, no further problems. Get on top of it quick smart – they do a hell of a lot of damage!
    Email me if you want.
    Good luck!

Spoke to him this morning about some advice – he either wears his ‘on’ his hip, lumbar region, when at work. When out walking he clips of to his back pack. He said there is a pouch you can get for it but from the sounds of it, they are soft and not so protective. We are fairly physical at work so presumably over your hip would be best while out cycling.
I was wondering if you could rig a simple, tougher case for it for that extra protection too?!
Sorry that that’s all I can give you. Although was cheekily tempted to just say “just dont fall off!” 😀
    Good luck! 💡

I will ask my colleague at work tomorrow (& get back to you when i can I’m afraid) he wears his over his left hip (dorsally) and he does tons of walking. Presumably just the same position that would be good for you! He got his a few years back and hasn’t looked back ! 🙂
    Will see what he says….

Can’t believe this ‘conversation’ is even taking place! From what I’ve seen – which is enough rides now- the pookers would make sure they took routes that were ‘ok’ for the majority! They Lurve their MTB’ing but know that they need to be keeping the locals happy in return ! One can’t shout at ignorance – one can only educate!

    Let the pootles proceeeeeeeed…….. 😀
