I would suggest that the mole didn’t ‘suffer’ as it was dead in seconds by the sound of it. It’s not like you allowed you dog to toss it around for ages and then tried to make slippers out of it before it was dead!

I’ve been a number of times and the one time i was made to stay at a hotel in Perth, I used the buses every morning to get there and evening to get back. Can’t fault them at all! Dead easy to find… Really easy to get on (although I would take north winds advice to get on quick if possible…. And I felt safe all the way! And I had to travel alone a fair amount.
Buses is definately the way to go for you both… It’s safe, cheap and actually quite a lot of fun!

May i ask what happened? Four is very young. I’m so, so sorry…. It never gets easier but I promise you will get to a time in your life when it will be ok to get another pup – and the fun bit is that they are all so different in their own, wonderful ways!!!!

sleeping like the dead – really struggling to get up most mornings

Long shot, but, if you’re really struggling to get up in the morning….. What about something like sleep apnoea? My dad had this diagnosed years ago and quite simply didn’t realise he wasn’t having a good sleep until he got something to help him get a ‘clinically’ good sleep. You may NOT be getting a very good sleep???

I’m relatively new too, both to stw but to mtb’ing too. I don’t think I’ve come across any such ‘anti’ trail centre type tbh. I have, however, met people who just genuinely don’t care for the trail centre type of ride! I’ve never found a ‘snobbishness’ to them though 😐
I’ve been extremely lucky to find friendship with people who ride around the peaks a lot and don’t mind me trying to hang on!! Of which i am very, very grateful because i love riding these ‘natural’ trails. But in addition, a recent trip to Gisburn taught me two things: 1) I prefer natural trails and 2) TC’s are ideal for noobs like me to ‘push’ their skills a little but in a slightly more contolled/predictable manner!
It’s a shame you’ve met such shallow people with regards to this type of riding. Like lots have said already ….different folks, different strokes!
I say go have fun! Doesn’t matter where you’re riding, as long as it makes you smile! 😀

Why does clothing create such debate? Really odd IMO. Wear what you like and what feels comfortable. I mix lycras and baggies, but favour the former because I find them more comfortable. And why the penis angst? Nobody is really looking and who cares (unless your the third Polish rider or our wife has been out posting ).
