I think I can beat you all on the cheap scale !! …maybe… I bought a pair of neoprene welly boot liners for £8. I put merino socks under these & my feet have never felt so comfy & warm! I look a right **** but who cares… People dont look at my feet anyhoo!!… 😉

I have to suggest a non upright I’m afraid…. Even if it does fall on Stoney ground! I work in a huge veterinary hospital that uses a Henry every day…. Day after day. We’ve only bought two in the past 7 years! I have Hetty at home (only cos it’s pink!…)
It’s been the best £80 I’ve ever spent! On a Hoover of course…
    Worth looking at IMO

Hey Emily!! Welcome!! You have to get along to at least one Marple riders ride…….they are all as mad as a box of frogs and us girls have a right old giggle!! It would be fantastic to meet you.
If the meets aren’t suitable then just drop me a mail… I’m often (relatively) around Clifton/Phillips park & would thoroughly enjoy some female company- I’m definitely no where near the expertise of a ‘Black run’ however, so do be warned! You’re Sunday ride is probably going to be more like my mammoth, monthly outing!!! 😉
Have fun and good luck! I do hope to meet you some time x

I’ve seen something brilliant! It’s called a dairy-o-matic! It’s essentially the same as the products listed above but made from an old milk carton and a few tie wraps and A LOT cheaper.
Mind you, if I had the money?….?…! …

There is a very good book by Allen Carr ( no not the annoying one with glasses) it’s an easy read and gets into your head.. it changed the way I think about smoking, no patches or gum or e-fags just an easy way to quit.

Worked for me too- it will be two years on 9th December and I’m so chuffed! I’ve never felt so happy or alive in my life! It’s amazing being free…. The book tells you how to alter your head & feelings about it all.
Keep up the good work, it’s hard but so worth it!!! Thinking of you x

Unforeseen circumstances I’m afraid…. I’m not going to make it. Gutted. I’m so sorry Pook, I still owe you one & I stick to my word!! You’ll get a nice red with an explanation some time, I promise!

I’d love to solo night ride but I just don’t think I’d be quick enough to ‘get out of danger’ if need be. Someone could just push me off my bike & they would have it no problem! That’s what worries me, not vampires or gribbley things!….!!!…

I’m tempted to join you Pook but I’ve only got my gay pink bike, not really suitable for XC riding!

I’ve been a bit worried about this…. You know, with 70+ people! But…. The more I think about it, the more I realise that it’s just going to take a long time!!!! And we all get to speak to everyone as we go! 😀
And fwiw – I would love to make some nice gluten free yummy bits for after but I’m flat out this week so I’m sorry all you coeliacs out there!

I wouldn’t worry about numbers, it usually starts off with a large amount of mtbers and within 3 minutes (this is true) at least half of them have turned the wrong direction and just keep on going

    😆
Proper going to miss you BH!! 😥

@ adjustable: I’m +1 on that score! Name badges maybe?…. I bumped in to Hora the other week & had absolutely no idea it was him until the bf told me! Yes, I know, I was lucky not to be alone 😯
No, I joke…. He was dead nice & genuine 😀

I can’t believe people are talking about ‘scoring points’ or banking them! Is that really what it’s all about? How crap!
I genuinely have no idea why she would ask you if it’s ok, without then discussing why you were against the idea?…
Unless I’ve missed something through the posts above I truly do not understand why she would put the blame on you…. Unless….. Her concience was trying to tell her something that she wasn’t yet ready to tell you. I think you may get an appology +/- reason for this reaction soon….
Hope it ends well btw xx

I think it’s very important having separate pressies so I’m glad you’ve put your foot down about that! It is definitely different for the young, they need to feel very special on their birthday. The only thing I remember ‘sharing’ was the cake…. My mum used to decorate half as a birthday cake and the other half Christmas- I quite liked the individuality of it in a way. Once again, it’s how the family portray the whole thing…

Me! And I love it! It’s pretty much the only time of year my family all get together at once….seeing as we’re very close, that’s a good thing….
We celebrate my birthday in the morning and then the family Christmas starts as soon after that as everyone wants. I’ve never once felt like I’ve missed out…..
I hope you all have an absolutely lovely day!!!

What do I drink? Depends on the time of day! Now, this beast discussion… where’s that come from then? The route is under lock and key for now!
    POSTED 17 HOURS AGO # REPORT-POST

The type of drink you really really enjoy…all to yourself! For me it’s a nice glass of red 😉 and Ignore me about the route plan. Just read ‘beast’ above & got all scaredy pants! 🙄

I have mine below the tv… Approx 8ft away! From what I’ve read, the important bit is that you don’t look directly at the light & as long as the light hits your retina for at least 20 mins every morning it should do the job! Way too bright for direct as you describe…
FYI- used to suffer terrible with SAD few years ago & never had a problem since! Start using it in October & finish around February/march.

I would love to post a picture of my bike! I love the pants off it cos it makes me feel AMAZING! There’s just no way I’d do what I do on that bike without it quite frankly!
It’s obviously not as posh as all of your bikes but I don’t care. Your bikes are truly beautiful (@Will – yours is a little favourite….)! In my mind, mine is just lovely and I don’t think I’ll ever sell it!
The bf is going to kill me.. He showed me how to post a picture – I’ve forgotten! You have to trust me, my bike is just beautiful! 😀
Ps; I only own one bike….

    Hi there,
Been coeliac for 26years now and can still remember the empty, depressing feeling when I was diagnosed.

    I’ll keep things simple:
It’s all about substitution, not elimination.
Join the coeliac society immediately- fantastic support! Their website even gives you how to explain the dietary requirements in different languages for when you go on holiday!
My email is there for you if you need me (genuinely)
Enjoy the diet!…. It’s very healthy & will make her feel like a different person- in a good way of course!

It’s not as bad as it feels…. I promise!
