    Its a two sided coin for me;

I hate how they treat suppliers; I work for a company who supplies non-food goods to them and they are intentionally difficult to deal with.

However on the other hand I hold quite a large number of Tesco shares and enjoy the dividends.

On Balance I think you should all support Tesco; I need a bigger TV.

    PrinceJohn,

I don’t have the remote, thats a good tip, may be worth thinking about that.

However another side to it is that iplayer performance on the PS3 has been garbage recently, its not my connection as it works fine on the ipad and macbook.

    Wow, Can. Of. Worms.

Looks like I will just buy a new one, at the moment I use my PS3 to watch netflix, but my wife can’t get on with the interface; more through bloody mindedness that ability if I am honest. Also, the 1080p thing is important.

    Thanks for the input.

I would not tell a soul, quietly quit my job and buy a place in France, read books, ride my bike, eat cheese.

Not sure what I would do with a massive win, probably give most of it away.

+1 for the Forerunner 305, ,I use the same. Mine has a non Garmin replacement battery and I easily get 10 hrs use out of it before the battery dies.

I have a Sony Xperia Mini, good camera and slide out keyboard. Fits nicely in a pocket, runs Android 2.3. Not too expensive, so worth a look.

She is right; touchpad keyboards are the work of the devil.

I have one and it’s a very tight fit. Both wheels off and the passenger seat slid all the way forward. Boot mounted rack is the way to go on a mini.

Oh, it’s a medium giant trance for reference

Out of the 20 or so 5’s I have seen out and about in the flesh only one of them looked like it had been used off road; they seem to attract people who prefer to polish them rather than ride them.

I don’t have a problem with them, but would never buy one of the current models, why would you buy something made with Fred Dibnah style Victorian techniques when you can get something for half the price made with modern hydroformed tubing or even carbon?

    Love the hardtails however.

I carry a ton of stuff every ride, first aid kit, space blankets energy tabs, phone, tubes and small spares and £20 cash.

Not really nessecary as I never go that far from civilisation, but the thought of needing to call my other half for help fills me with dread.

I am a trained first aider, and agree with other peoples comments re knowlegde being more important than the actual Kit.

Sneaky – Does that include the output of strangely asexual android strumpet Rachel Stevens?

Was never a fan of her solo efforts, they were much stonger as a whole. Besides, I think I had moved on to Sophie Ellis Bextor by then.

I have been told that some of them toured last year as S Club 3, a sadder concert than that I simply can’t imagine. Could not get anyone to go with me.

Truthfully I know nothing, my actual favourite band is Green Day, but I genuinely don’t mind a bit of Busted.

Its all been crap since S Club 7 Broke up anyway.

I’ve never heard anyone say they don’t like Adele…

Pie eating troll with much less talent than she thinks she has. A triumph of middle of the road blandness.

Frankly, its all been rubbish since Busted broke up.

Another Perth native here. Whenever I go back I can never quite get over what a beautiful place it is. Doesnt quite chime with my memories of being chased around town in the mid-80s by soccer casuals and schemie minks from Hunters Crescent.

Completely agree, use of the word ‘Mink’ confirms you as a local.

I ride Kinnoull hill ever time I go home, it will forever be one of my favourite spots.

I have an eternal memory of a good freind who bought a Diamond back Apex as his first mountain bike (Steel, Rigid), pushed it to the top, had a fag, then went AOT on his first downhill and broke his collar bone.

I was born and raised in Perth and went to uni in Stirling before migrating down south for work. If I were to move back (Something I think about often.) I would be looking at Alva, Tillicoultry, or around this area. Fast access to the hills, easy drive to Edinburgh, and not far from the big weege if you really need to go there. House prices not bad there either.

Wife bought me one as a gift, seems pretty accurate, certainly much better that a Phone when compared side by side using endomondo.

However its not really robust and will look second hand very quickly, I returned it and bought a Garmin 310 XT, which is what I would recommend; big screen, more functions that you really need and super accurate. Much, much more robust too.

Frankly a day away from the ‘culture’ and god awful ‘architecture’ might well prevent a marriage breakup halfway throught the week.

Any phraseology associated with an unfunny picture of a cat, for example “Can I haz cheezburger” or “Mommy, I iz scaredz”.

Drives me insane, no matter what I do my Facebook timeline is infested with these things.

May sound odd, but have a look at the machine mart website. They have three models of turbo at decent prices, probably a breach near you.

I started in Lovefilm, but moved to netflix; the netflix content is far superior and seems to update much more frequently. Also its half the price

Classic Alfa spider. Massively disappointing. Mine was last of the line low mileage and in top condition. Horrid thing to drive, broke all the time, just didn’t fall in love with it. Traded it for a more modern gtv spider. Did 100k in it loved every minute, and despite the reputatatiion it did not go seriously wrong once.

As one of the guys who did some of the digging on the new triangle section. Its not really my type of riding as I prefer more cross country stuff but it has a lot of good points.

Firstly its a specific bike trail, and well signposted as such, so its rare that you run into a walker on the trail, when you do they generally know they are in the wrong and move aside.

Secondly, its suitable for everyone; its council owned land so they have insisted that any features are friendly for beginners and families so they can always be rolled or bypassed. Not everyone is an advanced rider, we need these places to bring people into the sport without them being intimidated.

Thirdly despite what people say about it being flat/short/noisy/too basic its a really great ride; and its as difficult as you want to make it. Its easy to cruise round, but if you turn up the speed, its twisty nature can be challenging to any rider.

Actually you would be surprised how far some people do travel, as the club use it as a hub for their activities, and its a great club, friendly, welcoming and very active. And its not populated by bike snobs which I find a real turn off.

Began to read ‘The Diet Delusion’ last night as advocated by Tom. Three chapters in and I am amazed at the revalations on the validity of the low fat recommendations.

This book may be a life changer, seek it out.

Is tail chasing a legitimate fitness goal? possibly.

Unfortunately I am married so I know nothing of these things, any stated preference over someone in TV or print results in a swift belt in the mouth.

I would echo the other comments here, I have learned the hard way that you need to ‘work’ on rest and recovery just as much as the actual exercise sessions. I have taken up running recently, I had an epiphany moment were I started to enjoy it, and began to over do it by running every day, from this point I started to go backwards. Once i start to ignore the ‘craving’ to run and take proper rest days my form and performance improved.

Also it may be an unpopular opinion, but I am deeply sceptical of gyms as a way to get fit; I know a couple of guys that exercise solely at the local gym, they look great, big arms, flat stomach etc etc, but I can outrun, outpedal and outlift both of them, and I am a fat git.
