Cheeky question, but what is the ballpark cost of the rental?

Middle ground – we have a Breville Halo, which is really excellent, we use it more than our cooker to be honest.

Same with the sugar tax – what happened to being personally responsible for my own actions and opinions?

Yeah, right? I hope you’ve at least doubled your sugar consumption to show them they’re not the boss of you.

It didn’t change my Behaviour one bit, still on 1-3 cans of full sugar pop a week.

I am of course joking about Rees-Mogg But I did bin it.

I resent being ‘guilt-ed’ into opinions, which seems to be the rhetoric, these groups employ.

Rigid Marin Pine mountain hardtail, toeclips, thumbshifters, Tioga Psycho II tyres.

It was bloody awful, but I dont think I washed or had to fix it for the 18 months I had it.

I had two done in Poland last year, about 1900 in total, no residual problems, I stayed over there for ten days (Two trips.) while it was done.

The surgery and staff were very professional, certainly the equal of UK surgeries I have been to.

I will dig out the details if you wish, it was near to Krakow.

I didn’t use carbon paste with my dropper and didn’t remove it for 2 years.

    £300 lesson learned.

It’s a basic law of cycling that everyone has to experience this once in their career. Mine was buying a used bike without checking that the seatpost actually moved before I took it away…

All hail the Seatpost man, could have been a £3K lesson

    Looks relatively vanilla to me.

What I really wanted to strap on my Audi was a Blur based electric XC rocket, no one seems to be doing this.

Bose Soundsport here, expensive but worth it, tried a few cheaper pairs, simply not up to the job.

They are loud, sound good and dont fall out when I am running, none of the others I tried could do all three.

Far tougher sentences for drink driving, years rather than months.

Repeat offenders should be banned for life, no hardship clauses, no appeal.

    Anything described as “Artisan”
Companies describing their wares as “Curated”
    Over fetishising coffee.
    Steel bikes, see points 1 & 2.

I have been absent from this Forum for about 3 years, because I took up triathlon. Its a very slippery slope, you will need:

    Road bike
    Winter Bike
    Tri bike
    Deep Section carbon wheels
Less deep carbon wheels for windy conditions.
£1000 ish a year for entry fees.

I have given up, it has bankrupted me and I am still a fat knacker.

Lots to consider here, but if the journey is on A-roads i would suggest you look at small motorcycles rather than mopeds. Modern twist and go mopeds pretty much all have small wheels which drop into potholes quite easily – not really a problem in town but out of town they can be easily missed on a dark night.

In terms of actual models I know two people who do this and take very different approaches.

    1. Spend a bit of cash on something from the big manufacturers, maintain it well (More spendy than you might think.)

    2. Buy a brand new Chinese copy, do the bare minimum or maintenance, bin it when its first MOT becomes due.

Cost probably about the same in the long run.

You won’t go wrong with a Honda CB125F, and it will retain some value.

or for less cash the Lexmoto range are well regarded.

Never mind this twaddle, I have just realised that *U*ting Amazon have closed down Wholefoods in Cheltenham!

How very dare they! Where will I go to buy custom peanut butter now?

**Its taken me six months to notice so perhaps my outrage is slightly overblown**

And that’s to Bristol, a city that regularly crops up on ‘Best Places in the UK to Live’ lists. Lists from which Dorking is conspicuously absent.

The lists lie, complied by people who had a day out in Bristol and managed to avoid the drugs and poverty hotspots.

For balance, its somewhat better than Cumbernauld.

    Some perspective.

I did similar 15 years ago – Perthshire to Bristol.

Entirely financially motivated – Salary practically double what it would be if I had stayed put.

But my quality of life has suffered greatly, Long commutes, harder work – (Larger salaries come with larger Expectations.) 15 years on I still feel like a visitor, I have made friends, had good times but i just isn’t ‘home’.

Now playing a waiting game to return home to Scotland – big mortgages mean I can swap my equity for a paid up property (Or two.) in Scotland. As soon as the right opportunity arises I will jump.

But given the time over I wouldn’t do it again.

I would like to see a proper, not for kids Thunderbirds Movie, tons of transformers style CGI, in fact, give it to Michael Bay.

I have the 10inch version, its been a solid performer for the cash, plastic backed, but still pretty robust.

The only downside has been that it is locked to the amazon app store rather than google, but I imagine that can be fixed if you can be bothered.

I actively dislike music, There is no time where I don’t  prefer silence.

This has happened in the last 5 years or so, I used to like it, but now i get really angry when it creeps onto Radio 4.

Last movie I took her to at the Cinema? Blade Runner 2049, she was asleep in minutes.

I like the idea, especially as it can be expanded to control posts and front mechs. But the execution? that shifter looks like a pound shop rear light.

Many years ago when I was 19 the family volunteered (Forced) me to go on a 7 day Fjord cruise with my grandmother, basically as no-one else wanted to do it. The food and service were excellent (Holland-America?), but as I spent the entire 7 days trying to avoid the attentions of newly divorced, 50 year old, orange coloured women all the luxury was somewhat wasted.
