yes, the maxle lite is hollow, it doesn’t have the end adjuster cap that previous maxle’s had. Its a small 2mm allen grub screw under the lever. Mine is also a bit tighter on new Sektors than I have had before on Pikes/Revs/Lyriks etc…

clipless might be a bit sort of modern for ss? How about toeclips or powerstraps?

the muscles pushed the hair out…..

actually, you can only have legs massaged during a race if they are clean, I had them massaged as I had some cramp going on and a big race the week after.

Not really, its the climbing and flat where you make your time up, more tech riders can grab a bit on the upper and lower cliffe sections, but most elite riders nowadys can hold their own on that type of stuff. And it was 23 minutes for the record.

I was just about to press the button on 10speed, however, as it appears to be a beta group at the moment, i’ll stick with tried and trusted…

Mine was 27lbs with 150mm black box Team Revs, King wheels etc, easily rideable all day. Now has coil Lyriks and King Earl wheelset and is a much more respectable 32lbs….

rrp is 29.99 for the standard XTR pads, the finned ones hadn’t arrived on Friday when I called in for some-and they wont fit older XTR brakes..

The brakes do look nice and they are amazingly powerful. I’m probably gonna stick with the 10 speed XT chainset/mech though…

5 ’11 and a bit here too. 32 leg. had a large Soul for 18 months and then switched to a medium Soda, same geometry etc…. much preferred the medium, Thomson inline post and 70mm stem.

I always get the feeling TQ’s are a bit like joggers, they do what they do, but never look too happy doing it.

    from an email extract…

“So, funny commute home yesterday. Sat in the office at 4pm listening to the wind and rain and thinking f*ck. By 5 it was worse. Waterproof top, but not bottom. Stayed til 5.30 and the rain eased a bit but the wind was proper Autumnal… had lights, figured the canal would be swamp city so set off up past the old hotel to Barlaston downs. Not a soul about, rain probably stopped, just the tree droplets getting blown about so quite OK. Got to the top of the Downs, and it was fantastic, a reet proper good night, windy as FK, great visibility, trees nearly blowing over and a tail wind wherever I went. Ended up doing a full loop and triple climb in what turned out to be an exhilarating ride rather than a sodden commute!

Came in via the canal today, it was a mess, as was I. Luckily, I had muddy socks and wet pants when I rolled in…..”

So, yes, I too was out last night.

Saw him race that bike XC at Plymouth way back. He was a style king and would glady cross up, throw whips off anything.

I also had a Tioga disc drive. It was awful, forever out of true despite hamfisted tweaks. Sold it to a German via one of the mags…took 3 months of mags to sell though…..

Yes. Its now bloody clicking. Last time it happened the Doc said ‘no real point plastering it up- it’ll hinder you more, just take it easy’.

So yesterday I went and picked up a new fridge freezer and unloaded/dragged it into the house

I bet you shave with a Bowie knife…

Cheadle, land of the double thumbs and single eyebrows….edge of the Moorlands. Cannock is 20 miles, Dark Peak/Hope about the same. As fatlad says, locals for Cannock and theres loads of routes for the Hope/Ladybower regions on the net, easy to follow with a map or GPS. HANCHURCH IS A BOG ME DUCK AT THE MOMENT

Check the full hose length and threads, make sure you don’t have a leak.

Something sudden usually means you have somehow got air in the system somehow

I have XT’s on one bike, older XTRs on another and SLX on another. The XTR’s have been faultless and feel similar to the XT’s. The SLX’s have been OK, but i had a thin rotor on which didnt help lever feel . The new XTR’s that went on yesterday are considerably better in feel and performance over one ride…..but they are fookin dear!
