was out nightriding last night, stepping stones frozen over, me an scruff tried to ride it, I got wet, not nice when its -9. trails are in top fettle and dry, hard and fast, perfect really!

oh, and quick question Simon. After climbing Breasty Haw, is the Devils gallop descent a MUCH better option than the bridleway across past Grizedale Tarn and the fox descent if we are heading over towards Claife?

had the closest ever last night with a couple of deer, two of em ran along side me an scruff and cut across, one in front of me nearly clipped my bars and the other went between us….scruff was about 3 feet behind me. Reckon they were playing some game or something..

The Pikes are heavier and have the old maxle, Sektors have the maxle lite and are white (RL coil uturn version)-Pikes were the fork to have, you would hope the newer versions are better still….

Lyriks are 36mm stanchion and 160-180 travel, Sektor and Revs are 32mm and come in 140 and 150mm travel. I have all 3, recently adding Sektor coil uturns and they seem a good fork. I’ve had 454 Pikes as well, and the coil Sektors appear to be the replacement model. Good prices on the Sektor as well.

attack and rocket shifters should work with all shimano mechs. XO and X9 shifters will only work with X5/X7/X9/XO Rear mechs, and any front mech

I have looked long and hard at the 10 speed stuff and decided yesterday to go with 9 speed drivetrain for now…. cant be doing with pins and chains an stuff..

My LBS has most of it in now as well, it looks nice, but pricey!

I have Bonty tyres on bonty rims and 819’S, BIG SQUIRT OF STANS AND THEY ARE FINE.

New XTR cage pedals went on today as well, with winter boots on they felt great, didn’t realise how much play there was in my old 545’s….
