The Kings Arms is the best pub for sure, great food and great beer. the Sun is now like a trendy wannabe ‘eatery’. Queens Head is OK, but the beer and food is so good in the Kings Arms there is no reason to go elsewhere IMHO of course. The Bulls Head in Coniston also does great beer of course, but its the other side of the hill….

One of our group (particularly hairy) has to shower after every poo, its a right pain when everyones had breakfast and ready to ride and he suddenly says he needs a crap….

Had the new trail XTR’S from last year sometime, suitably impressed with them, also OK for pub trips in trainers etc…

went from a mundao estate to an S-Max, 4 bikes on the back towbar, roof bars etc and all of our camping gear (loads) and still room to bring back 100 or so litres of wine from the south of France.. fuel economy with a 2ltr diesel and all of the bikes is still over 40mpg. To be fair, I wanted a galaxy and the missus wanted another estate, so the S-Max was the compromise and its good to drive.

I did indeed smash mine to bits, but it was 14stone of athletic muscle smashing them into the rocks…. Lupine were very good about it as were Swinnertons and I had a new set back in 10 days and the loan of a shop set while they were away so no nightrides missed! Having used other lights, Lumi’s, ARC Ultra’s, Rush etc, the Lupines have been superb and I would have no quibbles on another set. The SOS flash is also good when we go camping, get pi55ed and the girls fancy a dance….bit like a trance disco cept you dare not look at the light…

I swapped my black box dual air team revs for a set of race ones, they are now on my lads bike after the seals kept going….put some coil sektors on and they are plush etc, but I needed a stronger spring.currently have big XR4’S on mine and 2.5 Big Earls on the laddo’s…no issue at all with clearance

My Sov is probably the stiffest bike I have ridden, feels solid and probably has less twang than an Alpine and less than the Alptitude I had before. Also has paint that seems to be an inch thick. All good bikes though, in fact, our nightride last night had a BeFe, an Alpine and a Sov in the mix. Colour wise there was a clear winner too…. 🙂

Bolted onto the ball seems safe enough to me, done numerous trips with 3 or 4 bikes on totalling probably upto £10k….

On my second remedy now, carbon one with coil lyriks. as BJ said, great for days out, peak/wales etc, climbs great without fork adjust and descends nicely as well. it is currently taking priority over my Sov…. :D. Described as a jack of all trades which sort of describes an average day out, some up, some flat, some down.

Suppose it depends where they ride and what they do on them I suppose.

My 12 year old has a 15″ Trek 6500, XT groupset etc which was around £700, but he does do proper trails and stuff and at Xmas I got him a full susser built up as the LBS had a small Fat Possum 150mm frame spare that’s built up into a very light DH bike for him. Its got 150mm air revs, Juicy 7’S, XT/SLX groupset so a fair bit more than £600…just means I have less to spend on mine 😯

Did Chapel Gate last Tuesday after climbing the broken road from Castleton, trails were dry etc… the ‘Gate’ was a mess, muddy gravel re surfacing stuff. A JCB and dump truck half way up it, right mess…bikes were about 20lb heavier at the bottom going into Edale. Very top of the beast had also been ‘repaired’…
