Just built this for my missus, weighs 22lb, OK so its not got gears, but they would only add a couple of pounds. The bare frame weighed 4.8 lbs against the Scandal's 3.5ish so not a massive amount of difference and quite a £££££ saving.

Mine's exactly the same, its obvious when you have just fitted the headset, but less so when fully built with stem, bars and cables fitted. Doesn't afftect operation one bit. I thought it looked a bit naff, but now its bult up you hardly notice See pic

Don't know whether he has any left, but Si at Progressive Bikes sold me a pair of OEM Fox Float RL 150mm for a bargain price. To be honest, I've hardly ridden it since fitted, but it seems to have made no difference to the geometry from when I had 140mm revelations fitted.

    Looks like this

I also asked Hope a couple of weeks ago and got a resounding NO!

I have the On-One reetards and for the money, (mine were £99 with Nevegals and tubes) you really can't complain. They seem strong, but, they are heavy. My set weighed in bare at around 2.4KG for the pair. I've just ordered a set from Justridingalong. The new Stans ZTR Hubs, DT Comp sokes and Stans Arch rims. Going tubeless with Bonty Mud X's. Back of a fag packet I reckon it will save 2 – 2.5lbs and save it where it counts most. The downside is its going to cost me the thick end of £400 which stings a bit when the rest of the Scandal was so reasonably cheap!

Hopefully delivered next week, so I'll let you know if they make a difference, I hope so 😳

I've found the grips OK, but not really compared them with ony other lock ons. Don't know about Inbred saddles, but I find the Big Nose saddle about the comfiest I've come across…… for a tenner!!

I'm assuming you mean one of these, this is a 20mm spacer from my reba 29ers, removing it lifted them from 80mm to 100m

The outside diameter is 20mm the inside is 10mm

    Hope that helps

+1 I'd recommend On-One Scandal frame with their Bargain Reba forks, SLX Group from Merlin, some Custom wheels, probably XT Hubs on Mav 717's, again from Merlin and the finishing kit of your choice. End up with a crackin and very light XC machine for aroud a grand.

Gawd, I'm speccing other peoples bikes now….. Must stop 😳

I Vote for the Panasonic, I have a Leica D-Lux 4 which is made by panasonic, Leica reciprocate by making the lens's for Panasonic and the quality is superb.

I'm sure someone will be along to disagree tho' 😆

Fox Flux, after many Giro's I tried one and it fits great. Seems to fit around your head rather than on it, almost feels like you dont need to fasten it, which of course you do.

Arrived last week, just built up for the missus, 14" Barry White. She can have some gears when she's a good girl.

The seats low cos she's a absolute beginer, The steerer isn't cut in case she bails and I can use the forks on something else, and I know the front brake hose is waaaaaay to long, but I'll get round to it 🙂

Google "Hal Higdon" he does a number of training schedules for both the half and full marathons. I followed his Novice plan a few years ago and got round in 1:57 and I was not running as far as you currently are when I started the plan.

Didzy I have a 2009 set of XTR's front and rear, both with 160mm disks, I also have a 203mm front disk and adaptor if you want to beef up the front power. Interested in a swap?

Did my Dad's earlier in the year. Its actually very easy if you have a good view of his finances, very hard if you don't. Don't know if you've ever had to fill in a tax return at any time but I'd say its similar. Easy if you have the info, a nightmare if you dont. All the forms can be downloaded from the web with guide docs also

Google HAL HIGDON, he has a number of training plans. I used his Novice 1 plan and got round Amsterdam last weekend despite missing all of September training due to a severe spannering I dealt myself up at Dixons Hollow in Dalby on August BH Monday. Still managed 4:07 which I was chuffed at considering.

Yep, its the full Carbon 09 model, I understand the colours will not change for 2010 so I feel like I've picked up a bit of a bargain. It will be buit with Rockshox Revs dual air 140mm's, and full XT/XTR with Hope hoops with DT 5.1 rims. Hoping for under 30lbs

Just bagged myself a 575 Medium in team turquoise. £999 seems a bit of a bargain.

That means my 456Ti will be going up for sale, just thought I'd give first dibbs to the people who have shown interest here.

You can pick up a 575 frame for quite a bit less than an Orange 5 at the moment!
