RAnother for Stans Arch with Tubless Ready Bonty Mud X's. I'm running the ZTR Hubs all from JRA, very impressed, I reckon I've pulled at least 6 thorns out of them in the last month and added no air.

Here's my wifes bike, spookily similar circumstances. Never ridden before, went with Singlespeed and it was much easier for her to get going without gears. She's now up and running with some general steady trails. I've just ordered some gears

    26 – 27lbs at a guess

Mine is 25.5, but has quite a weight saving using full XT and Stans arch rims/ZTR Hubs and tubeless, Thomson post and carbon bars. That said, it has Reba forks which will add a couple of pounds. The weight is in the On-One wheels, not knocking them, they are a bargain and very strong, but not light

The 26er was always in black, but if you mail On-One, I believe they may have some oddments under the stairs. I have a friend who has them checking for a 16" Pink Scandal 26er this morning. Try mailing adrian@planet-x-bikes.com he is looking after my friend….. maybe worth a shot.

My wife is neaer 5'4" but the bike would be fine for someone smaller, I reckon 14" would be OK.

Looks like On-One still have a few 14" Scandals in stock, I'd be grabbing one of those, I built an inbred up for my missus late last year and she's in a similar situation, never rode as a child but she's gaining confidence. I'd have been happy with rigid carbon forks as she doesn't need suspension, but happened upon some bargain pace RC39's

Singlespeed at the mo, but will get geared as she improves

you can still Singlespeed the vertical dropout Scandal using a chain tensioner, works perfect on my wifes Inbred with a On-One Doofer.

About 500 miles life in a running shoe, my knees start to hurt soon after this figure. I've got 5 pairs of Asics Kayanos in the cupboard that are shagged but look like new after a wash…… can't bear to bin em 🙁

    Woodsman,

It looks like 73mm. The bearings have red seals.

I'll have a shot on retrobike , thanks guys.

I'm not after silly money for it, but its no use to me, just want a fair price and to see it go to some use rather than gathering dust in my garage for another 20 years.

Barry, I guess because I don't know what bike it would suit, I'm fishing for answers and an idea of value before I pick a suitable place to flog it.

I was reliably told it had never been fitted, it has defo never had cranks attached, I think there is just a bit of crud/dust sticking the the grease in the threads on the cups, happy to supp[ly more pics if anyone's interested.

Unfortunately it doesn't mention the shell width. Had no idea they still make them, but found their web site. it says this

Titanium Bottom Bracket Axle. All Royce Bottom Bracket Axles are machined from 6AI-4V Titanium. Our standard Spacer and Cups are manufactured from aerospace grade Aluminium and are clear anodised to prevent corrosion. Our bearings can be supplied with low friction track use seals or all weather seals. We offer a full 24 lengths of axle from 80 to 135mm with axles to fit shell widths from 38mm to 73mm. We can supply cups for English, Italian or French threads and English Fixed Cups are available for clamp-on front derailleurs.

Price £127.00 – Includes Axle, Bearings, Spacer and Cups.

    Accessory items available include –
    Lockrings at £24.00 per pair

and the following choice of End Bolts:

    Titanium – £30.00 pair
    Stainless Steel – £18.00 pair
    Aluminium – £15.00 pair

Mine comes with the lockrings and ti end bolts, It looks like they go bigger than 126mm also, I wonder if its for a SS or track bike?

Had a similar problem on my DT Swiss 5.1's but I was using the DT rimstrips. I got a presta to Schraeder valve convertor and took them to a local garages airline, they still took some blowing up, but managed in the end. Not sure if this would be any more effective than your Bro's compressor though. Maybe try a local tyre garage who will have a very powerful compressor?

Nicks, is it in warranty, if so, make an appointment at your nearest Apple Store genius bar. They will either fix it there and then or repace it with a new/refurb. You can make the appointment online on the Apple site. Don't take it back to O2 shop or Carphone, they will send it off for repair leaving you phoneless

    My experience anyway

Have just fitted 2.35 High Rollers to my 575 with DT Tubeles kits. Gone for the 40 Supertacky on the front and the 60 Maxpro on the back. Not ridden them yet so can't comment on how they roll, but clearance is fine on the 575 (carbon) rear end.

Love mine, probably the best bike I have had. First built up rigid single speed

    Then added gears and Reba's

Now back to rigid but with gears and its great, weighs about 23lb, tubless Stans with bonty mud X's grips and climbs fantastic. Only problem is my 575 has not turned a wheel since I started riding this!!!

I have the Leica D-Luxe 4 which is essentially the same camera with different firmware, some say its beter, I think probably not but love the retro look. Never failed to take a fantastic shot. Miles better than any digi compact and gives my old Nikon D100 a run for its money 9 times out of 10.

I Have Stans Arch rims built onto Stans ZTR Hubs with DT Comp spokes. Quite light at 1870g for the pair and plenty strong enough for most duties. Also got 2" bonty mud X running tubeless and they seem great, stacks of grip at 20PSI. I also have a pair of Reba 29ers set at 100mm, they are off for a service at the mo, so refitted my On-One carbons and on woodland trails, you can hardly tell the difference, weighs just over 23lbs or nearer 25 with the rebas fitted. Frame is an 18"Scandal and the only problem I have is that non of my other bikes have been used all winter……Love it

TI have ZTR Hubs with Arch rims, DT Comp spokes on my Scandal 29er. They are very smooth, noticably smoother bearings than the Pro II's on my 575. The pair weigh 1875g which I'm pleased with for 29er's could have got lighter with 355's but I wanted a touch more strength. To be fair I have only had them a month and the weather has limited riding so time will tell, but so far, very pleased
