CP, I’m a worms eyelash under 6′ with a 33″ leg. I swear it looks more “normal” in the flesh, the camera seems to extend the seatpost by a couple of inches….. or I could be a crap photograper!!!!!

Stem is 80mm, I would have opted for a couple of spacers normally, but the forks I picked up from classified have a 178mm steerer, the stack height of theat headset is high on the top cup thgough.

A couple of shots from a bit further away, looks better I think

Thanks, the only reason the white theme emerged was because I inadvertantly ordered a white headset…… was cheap tho 😆

Ourman, I admit it does look a bit strange in the photo, was taken very close so maybe a bit of fisheye effect. The saddle is bang in the middle of its for/aft guides and there is 220mm of a 400mm seatpost showing.

Fits just fine. 18″ frame, I’m a 5’11 and a bit. To be fair I’ve not ridden it yet so the seat may have to come down a bit but it feels about right. Same geo as my old Ti456 and that was perfect. I do like to err on the small side with frames tho’

Aye, it should look different tomorrow. I guess it’s a bit like a new pair of sneakers!

Actually…. Honesty kicking in….. If I was riding epic distance on bridleways (thinking around Garforth, Aberford, Tempsey etc. Tony) I’d reach for my 29er. If I was doing Dalby Red/Black it would have to be my 575. That said, if Yeti did a 29er 575 equivalent then that would be my choice….. so basically what Peterpoddy says.

My 305 lasted about 4 years also, eventualy succumbed to water ingress. I took it apart and all the internal contacts were green and corroded. Same symptoms as yours.

Replaced it with the 310XT which is fantastic if a bit pricey. Its clains to be fully waterproof rather than the shower proof 305. Doing London Triathalon this year so it seemed a sensible buy.

That said, if you don’t get it wet, the 305 on Amazon is a steal

Sorry for your loss, sounds like good advice above and just to add to that, I did my dad’s 2 years ago. It was not hard and I could now do it again with half the effort. A lot depends on how good his financial records/acconts were. the application for probate is easy, the tax form requires quite a bit of detail around his income/investments etc. If someone offered to take it off my hands for £100 i’d say yes, any more than that i’d say DIY

Try “Just Riding Along” built me a set of Stans Arch onto ZTR hubs and they have been faultless for well over a year now.

What was the problem with handbrake? was it on a mac or PC? if a mac, then are you using the correct 32bit or 64bit version?

The only tyres I have managed to inflate with a pump on my 29er Arch’s are Bonty Mud X’s. All others have needed the garage airline, but once up have been fine, even if you deflate them to top up the sealant, they have stayed up in the bead and gone back up with a track pump. They include maxxis Crossmark, Nevegals and Stans Ravens (suprised these needed the airline).

Using ZTR Hibs on Arch’s with DT comp spokes, light ans so far very strong. The hubs are very smooth. Stans Raven/crow mix tyres in summer, Bonty Mud X TLS in winter. well recommend all of it

    Thanks Neil,

Its a 2009 model, I think the new mirror comes with backing plate and electrics. I’ll give it a go, not much to lose in damamging the old glass, but I’m wary of damaging important gubbins in the mirror housing. I heard mention that you have to make a sideways type movement to release it?

I know this should be in the classifieds, but I guess this is a more appropriate audience. I Have everything needed for a darkroom, Meopta colour enlarger (will do B&W fine) timers, trays, the job lot. The chemicals probably need replacing as its 10 years old. Anyone interested in having a whirl

My Missus 5’5″ and her 14″ Inbred fits great, I think if you went to 16″ then the top tube would be too long

3,000 calories a day, not hard when you consider an average non sedentary male will shift 2,000 – 2,500 just going about their daily life. My Garmin HRM thing reckoned I’d shifted 1,500 yesterday on a (quite tough) 23 mile ride. That said, I probably only burnt another 500 for the rest of the day as I was that knacked I didn’t move again 😕

Edit, read post properly next time, you reckon to have burnt 3,000 a day over and above normal? Honestly no idea, but don’t complain!!

OK, lets keep this going, if anyone is interested, drop me a mail with the times/days you can make it and where you are located, I’ll pull something together that suits most. Not promising the first ride will be the best, but if we can then pool our local knowledge, we should be able to come up with some good routes. Like IGM, I have a couple of sets of spare lights if anyone requires.
