If you watch this I find it very hard to believe you could do the damage above to the rotor in normal use.

Been running 2.4 UST black chilli compund for about 3-4 months on a 2009 Spicy 316. Got to say I rate them highly, better than High Roller 2.35 60a anyway. My Monday night ride is about 25 mile including a bit of road work and they roll better on road and grip like s**t to a blanket on the downhills. Not brilliant in mud but they have a shallow tread and due to the volume tend to float over the surface rather than bite into it. All my riding is in the lakes. They are lasting well but when they need changing I might try the 2.2 folders and trying to run them tubeless as it would knock the neck end of 2lb of rotating weight off.

Whilst Bob Geldof has undoubtedly done many thing that have been a massive force for good I cant help but feel the hipocrisy of being non domiciled as a UK resident to avoid tax on his income makes his opinion on how this country is run or how its news is reported slightly less worthy.

I pay all my taxes etc, when I die no doubt the government will take a chunk of my estate but not 'sir' Bob. Oh no. Give us your f**king money indeed but dont let HMRC at my British Virgin Island based companies that own the houses I live in and pass all my earnings through because I am to fantastic to pay tax.

Just been down loughrigg tonight and can confirm that from the lower gate to tarn foot cottages is no hard packed gravel and as challenging and technical as a canal path. 🙁 sad face

Haven't been down loughrigg for a while but I suspect it will be from the second (lower) gate down to the cottage at Tarn Foot.

The slate is going edge side up, like a dry stone wall lying on its side. The surface effect is about as inconsistant as a dry stone wall as well so should be relatively grippy.

To be fair the slate is being stacked from the bottom drainage channel up. It is being put in with the narrowest face up and looks at the moment to be far from smooth. So although it may end up being less technical it will be far from smooth and nice and fast. Hopefully it will stand up to the rain better as well.

Bottom of the Troutbeck side (The Howe). Not sure how far up they are going.

Just to add Wain lane has also been ruined. It is a smooth silt/mud/clay rather than the rocky fun it used to be. A good flood will probably help but I will avoid it till then.

Get in touch with Oakley UK. I had a pair of eye jackets and snapped one of the arms. £10 to replace the arm and turned them round in less than a week. Snapped the other arm a year later and Oakley rang me up saying they had revised the frames and I would therefore need new frames and arms. 'How much will that cost' I asked. 'Nothing at all. We just wanted to make sure you were happy for us to do it before we removed the lenses' they replied!

Oakley are worth every penny you pay for them.

Eurosport do still show the races. 125 & 250’s live. Moto Gp delayed by one hour.

All the races are ad free and have been all this season by the way

I think the climb up gatesgarth pass then up across harter fell is much more rideable. Shouldn’t be too bad a ride if you start and finish in Staveley and go over green quarter to longsleddale.
