    Hi All,

Firstly, thanks to a few who have been tweeting/texting me about this post.
Sorry for the few who I have not had chance to reply or get their orders/repairs out just yet. As you may well know I build all the custom batteries myself and this year and still is overwhelming with the demand for such hard to replace batteries not including the standard Solarstorm compatibles I have had to also build.

Over the last year I have targeted the industrial battery market, this is where I spent 20+years building L-Ion Batteries for, as a result I now have regular repeat orders and new sample batteries being tested at the moment. So much so my Battery Supplier came to visit last week to discuss more target markets within the UK.

I know I am taking longer than I should be to reply to an email and getting a new order/repair out, even I dont like that, but please bear with me at the moment and yes I have thought about employing someone but I take great pride and love my work.

    Thanks for listening..

Holy Moly, after a month or so deciding on a new laptop decided to follow this thread and popped a 250GB Samsung SSD in this evening.
It came with all the cloning software so off it went cloning.

Result .. mega fast now, like having a AppleMac, no more switching on and making a cup tea while it loads up.

Deffo one of the best upgrades you can do and easy to do too.

Agree with the Cowlyd loop, mega classic of a ride and the views especially one will take your breath away as you don’t expect it.

Fill the bottle with Bubble wrap to stop it bouncing around?

Only thing with bolting to frame is its not really quick and easy to fit and remove after each ride. Plus being in the bottle or pouch gives the battery extra protection against the elements in the position it will be placed in on the bike.

We had a pet rabbit donkeys years ago and that got out many times.. each time he came back.
Just leave the cage open and put some of their usual food in it and you’ll see him back in it fairly soon *hopefully*

Used it this evening coming back from Rhayader. Even more impressed as only had to pop the micro SD card in from the video camera, clicked the video app and all the thumbnails popped up to play. Camera pics were just as easy to view as well. Great having a quick access just after a days biking and no fancy cables and waiting for them to load.

    Like I said. Well impressed.

Does the recorded delivery tracking show it has been delivered? If they are still not comunicating I would take out a paypal dispute with them and see how that goes.

Speak to Bruce if youre not sure, really helpful guy.

Dan, they are doing an extender from what Bruce was telling me to fit onto the end. Not sure when it will be available but they have been testing it and pretty much solves your problem.

Kryton57, The special offer I think you are reffering too are for a combo of both the Lumenator and also the Lumen800 as a package. bars and helmet combo? I have only just got in and havent had chance to post updates as yet, Plus there will be discounts on the Lumen800 for owners off the V1,V1 & Lumenator.

I_Ache, I pass through Four Oaks everyday, met a customer earlier this evening there actually. Send me a PM through mtbbatteries on FB if you can or email me through the website. I can possibly meet up tomorrow about 6ish so you can see it first hand and also try the Exposure mount for it. – Bring your Urge helmet too.

    Hi,

The light is approx 46 long, the first 14mm were the optic is housed is 27mm round, the remaining length is 25mm but not totally round (only top and bottom)

I have found if you’re helmet has a centre vent the light fits snug in the recess of the vent and then the battery only being a 2 cell fits onto the back of the helmet out of the way.

any other questions please let me know,

    thanks

If the correct paperwork is displayed and included on the cartons there should be no delay coming out of HK or China, It also depends on what carrier they are using to ship with. Yes, China have upped the hazardous cargo regulations but so long everything is packed and labelled correctly there should not be a problem.

Read the small print in the documents… Friend has her bike stolen from inside her locked car parked on her drive. They are refusing to pay out because the back seats were down and the parcel shelf wasnt in place.

It was lying in the back covered in a blanket. they put the back window through to get it out.

But the Insurance are refusing to pay out because basically it wasnt locked in the boot, seats up and parcel shelf not hiding it. Just saying, as its in the small – very small print.

ok, might be a bit off topic, but can totally relate to this… but at the same time as changing your clocks check your smoke alarms at the same time, it only takes a few seconds… a few weeks from today will be a year to the day my parents had a house fire that started in the garage… the smoke alarm gave them enough time to get out of the house – mum was bed bound and call 999… you take things so much for granted, but a smoke alarm can and was a life saver.. so just check it at the same time..

Mine loaded fine… tip though, double click the round button and it shows up along the bottom loads of last used programs.. delete them and try again.. I found that worked when I had hassle months ago.. not a pc geek so not sure of the terms I should be using :-?

Ok, great seeing this being done BUT, from my point of view…

Make sure you only use protected cells – cells with protection circuits built in, never cells un-protected. The light or charger may not have any protection.

Never mix and match… ideally at least buy how ever many you need from the one source at the same time… each batch of cells is logged for capacity and impedance (or should be)from the manufacturer. if not, not every cell(battery ) you buy will have the same initial capacity… Bit like what I have seen this week a 6400Mah battery was only 3000mAh.

Just saying its brilliant doing what your doing but be careful, the batteries side is always the least thought off and abused… but from first hand experience with my first company I worked at the factory burnt down from a single cell hearing aid battery that shorted out!

    So please be careful.

Thanks Stumpy, as you well know, its not the type of bike for going to the shops on. and should stand out like a saw thumb if seen.

    Cheers Jamj.

Been a busy morning setting searches up and visiting local shops.

It also had Troutlight Liberator on the bars.

We also have CCTV images from along the road – one looks like him pushing it, and should have clearer ones later today done ready for the Police visiting tomorrow.

Why a scrote would nick a womens specific bike,it will stand out to anyone into biking in the area as probably the only womens Cube around.

Not sure I have seen your emails to be honest, I am currently getting approx 60+ a day and some may well get missed – Priority is getting paid orders out first/ emails second and even those are now getting graded to replies… Remember it is just me at the moment. and if I havent replied, please feel free to give me a nudge and ask again.

Battery & Light wise, so long as they are both the same working Voltage there is no real reason why it wont work.. apart from the capacity of the battery would effect the light time… and off course the connectors issue.

The Lumenator is a 7.5V 6.6Ah battery for your references.

But like I said if I havent replied, just send me a gentle nudging email again..

    Thanks

I would guess your standard battery is rated 7.4V at ~4.4Ah (4 cells)

To improve the performance you would need a larger capacity battery say 6.6Ah (6 cells) for the lights to run longer.

But also bear in mind using a higher capacity battery it will also take longer to charge the battery.

** Thanks for the support guys, but can we let it lie now as I really dont want it turning into a slanging match **

    FYI

With the recent rise in postage costs it was no longer profitable to sell the twin cell batteries without putting them up in price. With the little demand anyway I decided to no longer stock them.

They were protected cells with flat caps, so it would not have been advisable to solder directly on to them unless you like the danger of one exploding in your face?!

Those £51 batteries you are referring too are made from high quality Samsung 2.6Ah cells. Replacement batteries for our light range are available on request at a cheaper price.

One thing mtbbatteries is not and that is greedy, look at our feedback and customer support on here plus our recent review in MBUK. Greed has never once been mentioned.
