Out of interest do you know if DX sell those battery pouches separately? Ive tried everywhere to source pouches but cant get very far

Sounds good business to me :-)
But can I point out my batteries are not 100% waterproof, I try my best with double sleeving and silicone under the cable exit. I would also suggest popping mine or other batteries into re-sealable sandwich bags before putting them into pouches- unless you want them bottle housed.

He bought from Trailtech and supplied them in the UK.

Yes I can do replacements for them plus they are a higher capacity battery 2.6Ah or 5.2Ah.

    Someone call my name 8)

I've just built a DX compatible battery, increased run time to 5.2Ah.

Postie, if you want to post me youre battery i'll have a look at it. The problem with water/damp getting is now the damage is done. It may well look dry and new pcb put on it, but the corrosion has already started on the cells and tags. Ive repaired batteries in the past only to get them returned a few months down the road with the cells completely corroded.

But I can replace the pcb if you want but wont guarantee the batteries life.

I allways suggest putting my batteries into re-sealable sandwich bags before putting them into the battery pouches.
    I as have 2S chargers.

But please email me with any other questions or info

another day without my delivery of chargers !! How come it can take less than 3 days to arrive in the country and then an extra 4+ to be farted around this country, no wonder this country is in such a state.

As soon as I get them they will be on a 24hr to troutie.

Update my end. Chargers never turned up as should of today. But as soon as I get them, Tomorrow hopefully now, I will send them DHL 24Hr up to troutie. That will be Thursday earliest now.

On behalf of troutie and myself thank you for putting up with the initial delay in getting these lights/ kits out to you, we never thought the demand would be as high as this and it has caught us completely off guard. Bear in mind we build the batteries/ lights up in our spare time and if anything the praise should be directed to mrs trout and mrs smudge for putting up with the 2 of us over these last few weeks.

    Thanks again
    smudge,

lets see those lights in action :P

Can I just add I put my batteries into a plastic re-sealable bag before popping them into the outer bag. This will help keep them dry come the wet and damp weather.

Blimey Dave you live up to you're name !
met troutie yesterday and believe me the photos don't do his lights justice. Like he said I am waiting for new stock of chargers that are arriving Monday/Tuesday latest, these will be going First class delivery up to him for next day delivery.

    Hi JC.
The batteries are shipped approx 50% charged so can be used straight away, but ideally best put on the charger for 100% charge.
They do not need to be cycled a few times, but best left at a 50% state of charge if their not going to be used for long periods of time.

    Hi Paul :-) welcome aboard

There may be a mass of lights beaming from silsden in the next few nights… So be prepared for strange lights seen shining into the sky in the local papers, anything for publicity eh troutie

    Wow huxley.
As for battery bags I am currently working on having ABS battery cases made, these will will have velcro straps. They will be in 2 sizes depending on the size of battery.

Short term you can use the lumicycle bags or try searching for AEG Battery pouches on Ebay which come in a variety of colours.

I have cleaned my old Hope Hid a few times now. just re-sealing it with a dab of silicone sealant. The rubber overall seal keeps it all together.

Cleaning the lense and reflector does improve the light to how it was.

you seem to to be taking a very big interest for someone who isnt vagely interested in his light.

why on earth does he have to explain everything to YOU?

    Hi Rocky,
you had an email about 1/2hr ago
By all means post me the battery and charger and I can put them both on a soak test (no that doesnt involve getting them wet!)

Please don't try to, Its not just a case of swapping like for like cells, all new cells have to be balanced, tagged to assemble etc also it may not be the cells but the protection circuit that is faulty.
Unless you are sure with what you are doing it could all go with a big bang in youre face.
Like junkyard says get a quote from lumicycle first if that fails I can build and post you a replacement.

check here nostic. The buyer may be 100% genuine, could you not ask him to pay by bank transfer instead? It seems so easy for paypal to take the 'buyers' side and they then get youre item for free! The get out seems is the 'buyer' doesnt respond to emails saying if they have or have not received the item.

By looking at the reviews worldpay was good to use till RBS got onboard and now they've rapidly gone downhill, plus the fees are higher.
There seems to be a gap that needs filling

It was just the fact they sided straight away on the buyers side and took the money out of my paypal account, ok the game was only £8 but the prinicple of it stinks.
Thanks GT i'll check nochex out

Throwing a sleeping bag in the bag of his van to sleep in then driving home on the sunday!

About 3 weeks ago there was a right load of squeeling from our front lawn about 3 in the morning. armed with a troutlight in hand I had to go and have a look… there they were, 2 hedgehogs sh4gging on the front lawn, he was giving her a right seeing to, but they didnt look too impressed having a light shone on them and ran off into the bushes.
