were did you purchase them from? more than likely dodgy branded cells. If you look on the DX site they have high capacity cells and then small print underneath to say they are only rated at 1800mAh.
see here 2500mAh batteries – overview they are only 1800mAh !! how do they get away with it?

    Hi Takisawa2
Not worth it as I would have to prize open the case to get the old cells out and getting it to fit back together again and also fit back into youre laptop is too much hassle. Sorry

    Hi Devs,
The standard male/female ones. But they are moulded both ends if that helps at all. I could supply with a length of sleeving that may help in keeping the cr4p out

Sorry for a mini rant, but I would never build/sell or use a Li-Ion battery with protection. The Circuit protects against under discharge, over charge, over current and also short-circuit. They are there for a reason.
What if the charger develops a fault and continues to charge the cells above their end of charge?

    Just be very careful

From experience, I send most first class recorded. one guy after 12 days still hadnt received his battery and without hesitation (ok I did give it 12 days) I built up and posted a replacement. He was more than happy and spread my word further  good karma is priceless

I really cant believe how bad these are when they get even the slightest bit wet.
I would suggest anyone just bought one to pop it into a plastic bag before using it on their first ride.

Also its not the norm to ship Li-ion fully charged, only at 30-50% max.

As for the green light showing straight away, twist the connectors round whilst connected to see if the led changes to red. the connectors may not be 100% round.

I have ready made 4.4Ah and 5.2Ah batteries and chargers if anyone has grief from DX or wants to upgrade

Hip/Gizman. if you want to send me the problem battery and charger I can check it over for you and resleeve the battery if its repairable.

I built an external Li-Ion Battery for my E-trex Legend that lasted for days! but I drilled a small hole into the empty battery case and just soldered wires onto the pos and neg battery terminals inside. This also resolved it occasionally switching off mid ride.

To do your's & others i'd need to know the wiring configuration of the connector first.

find this though replacing garmin battery[/url] so you could possibly fit a bigger capacity battery inside

As gingerflash, popped in as I saw a helmet I wanted £20 cheaper on the web. What I didnt realise at the time it was an online price only.
Picked helmet up took to till and I questioned the price.
    "Sorry online price only".
I'm here now and didnt realise, can i still have at it the online price?"
"No, its on line price only"
Yes, youve just told me, this doesnt help me as i'm here with cash and helmet in hand and would have to then pay postage"

    wait for it……….

"You can go home order online and arrange to pick up in the shop"

"So you now want me to go home, order online and came back to pick this helmet up that I have in my hand?"

    "Yes, sir"

Even the guy behind me chuckled.

    Amazing

Like I said My batteries are as waterproof as I can make them and those bags look ideal. BUT I would still suggest putting the batteries in a re-sealable sandwich bag first.
