    Hi Dunc,

There was a guy over here called turboferret? who made them but I think work commitment has made it difficult for him to continue. As you pointed out the only other guy seems to be your link in the States. I did look at if for a short while but not enough volume or requests at the minute to take it any further.

    Hi Rusty,

Only have 2 samples at the minute (well 1, Troutie has the other in the post!)

They should be in stock within 2 weeks and I will update website & facebook once I have received them and checked them over for quality.

They can be used for the 8 cell Li-Ion Batteries and also the 13.2V & 14.4V NiMh Batteries.

Best follow me on facebook[/url] to keep updated.

The should be around the £4-£5 mark tbc

Sorry ive been late replying on this thread and thanks to everyones support on the battery and light front.

Its took a long time to finally source a company I was happy with for their quality build spec and light performance. (Along with trouties feedback and support), The Company I deal with do not deal with DealExtreme and not part of magicshine. When viewed close up you can see the difference in the light can,the batteries come in a neoprene bag as well as a canvas type type for attaching to the bike frame, it also comes with a UK type plug in charger. I offer UK support and try to post out within 2 days and do my best to reply to emails within a day or so.

The company who I buy these lights from have also helped me to design and build newstyle battery bags for the larger capacity batteries and as a result Troutie and I now have ‘proper’ battery bags and not the Tesco value camera bags we were using.

I have emailed the main bikemagazines & websites for testing and reviews but it appears as I am not an ‘advertiser’ ploughing money into the magazine for page spreads they dont seem interested :?

Most of all it doesnt matter how much your bike light cost or where you bought it from, its the going out and nightriding where its at :-)

Swansea or Norwich will have an ‘adams’ like Blackpool did last season and its picking someone like that at the start of the season before everyone else puts them in.

Ive been with him up in The Lakes since Saturday (I came back Tuesday) mountain biking. He has been showing his German friends round and is due back home this saturday.

He is in Windermere and the interent is very patchy to say the least.

I’ll text him to let him know. By the way the new Frogeye will be worth the wait

The battery will come as prebuilt inside a battery pouch. Your best bet would be to just swap the lead over onto another 7.5V Li-Ion battery if it became faulty or if you wanted to increase the light time ie, put a 5.2Ah+ (standard is a 4.4Ah)

Any questions battery wise please email me direct.

    once heard never forgotten.

I’ve seen it a few times and allways wonder if that was the last time. The last time was last year whilst out walking the dog with our 12 year old daughter and she stood in amazement in the size and noise of it.

One of the few times that makes you proud to be british.

There’s a good book about how it was used in the Falklands

Thanks for everyone mentioning me :-) I have had a bit of time to update my website and they can be found here

At the moment I am selling them for £67 to get the interest gathered and feedback from buyers, Yes I know you can probably get similar lights from DX and cheaper and this is a big factor if I decide to buy another stock afterwards, but you wont be waiting for weeks for delivery and will get a UK customer support.

Nice constructive ideas Big and i’m sure Troutie will listen to them, its such a leap from doing it as a hobby as he is doing and stepping up a level seeing and compete with the big boys and imports (that are a fraction of the cost but with no real support and cheap internals)

What you do get with Troutie is basically next years light available this year. Custom led implants into old lights and loads of first hand knowledge of design of leds and optics with beam shots as shown above. An old light with the latest leds implanted inside, who else does that?

WHO else, offers this level of service light wise. A few even jump on his light threads not even started by him trying to promote their own lights.

So I say Troutie you would leave one hell of a gap in the UK market should you decide to quit, besides I wont let you !

Eh up troutie, congrats on being a grandad :-)

For the last 3 years at this time of year you’ve told me your packing it in! What happens? You go and build another kick ass light that’s aleast a year ahead of the manufacterers. You’ll come up with something new don’t worry.
There will always be a market for your lights and service.

Email Troutie, he only lives in Silsden and knows the area like the back of his hand.

When I was last up there a few weeks ago he took me to Gisburn Forest, probs about half hour max from you by car. Top place to ride and the trailbuilders have done an excellent job there.

Lots of stuff on your doorstep too so I would email him as he needs to get out biking more as we have a long weekend planned in the Lakes in July 8)

    Have a look here.

    ShrinkSleeve

why do you want it on gear cables? if its not going to slip you had best get the adhesive lined as thats the best one to use.

How much do you need? I may be able to help out.
