Another excuse to put a pic of mine up Bad Boy Monstercrosser[/url]

I run 160mm centrelocks without clearrance issues. I think 6 bolt discs will cause the bolt heads to hit the fork.

Links from sites with a lower ranking is not necessarily a bad thing. You will get a higher ranking with Google if sites with a good reputation start linking to your site. What Google is currently doing is penalizing sites for having webspam links in their content.

There’s lot’s of info out there in SEO blogland. I’d recommend a few hours research before your consultant comes over next week so you can tell if he’s keeping his practices up to date with the latest Google changes.

Don’t have a pic handy but it’s a bit of a faff. On the last cable stop on the seat stay fix cable to frame with a zip tie but leave enough slack so that you could get 2 pieces of outer through the zip tie. You then make an s shape with the outer so that it will then run into the hub at the correct angle. Bit of a design fail for a bike designed to run alfine hubs IMO.

Flat bar road bike? – Boardmans are well put together, have all the eyelets for racks and guards and are excellent value.

Schwalbe CX Comps (35’s) here too – much less drag on the road than the Conti Speed Kings I had on before and only really noticeably worse in mud. In fact better on rocks, gravel and dirt.

Tenn Rapide Bargain at £28! and doesn’t sweat up too much. The medium is a generous medium, I can fit a base and mid layer comfortably under one. Zips are good and it’s been washed quite a few times now and is still beading water very well.

No problem, would be interested to know how the Kendas compare to the cx comps on the road when you’ve got them tubelessed.

    This link might help: http://www.cxmagazine.com/trying-tubeless-cyclocross-tires-setup-part-ii

If you do manage it with cx comps let us know how you go on. I got put off by the fact you can’t go higher than 60 psi without destroying the bead.

I’ve been using these, roll well on road and anything hardpack or gravelly, not great in mud though.

Not difficult to take apart but you will need some snap ring pliers. It could be the o-rings in the damping leg. A common enough problem and solved by replacing a couple of o-rings.

Plenty of service manuals on the SRAM site.

Just built this for some non-technical off-roading. Had it’s maiden outing yesterday to see how it rode and compared quite favourably with my Pompetamine.

The Lyra discs are as goos as BB5’s and were cheap as from Winstanleys.

Longer chain, new saddle, some pdm 520’s and bar tape and it’s ready to go.

A longer fork is on the way to experiment with and I’ll probably go bigger with the tyres. Built for around £300 including the impending carbon forks :-)

When I was a little younger than now I rode out in front of a car whilst on my paper round. I made a similar mess of the car which hit me and the driver successfully claimed against my employers liability insurance and I had the excess docked off my pay for a few months. I thought it was a fair cop at the time and my folks thought it taught me a valuable lesson.

    Have times changed so much?

Have you asked over on mumsnet yet?

I run 160 front and 140 rear rotors, gear Inner cable in standard brake outer with cheap discobrakes pads and SD7 levers. I sometimes think I need a 180/160 rotor combo but not enough to do anything about it

Mrs SJ has had them on her Boardman hybrid in 700x35c guise and taken them on proper some off-road tracks where they’ve coped very well on wet rock and woodsy tracks, only gloopy mud got the better of them.

Just stuck a pair on my Pompetamine as the Conti Speed Kings wore out too fast on the tarmac.

Schwalbe cx comp if you’re on 700c. Tenner a piece, roll well and wear well.

Well done to anyone who turned out in that weather, we had surprisingly few pick ups to do in the broom wagon considering.
