I’d been off bikes for quite a number of years before getting the duke. It was the easiest bike to ride I’ve ever had. Power delivery is gentle but still usable low down and only really gets going after 7k revs. Brakes even on standard pads are strong but do lack a bit of feel which the brembo pads are supposed to sort.

Tyres give lots of grip and feedback. Controls are backlit to make setting them easier at night- very novice friendly. Seat height is short arse friendly on the duke too.

Duke owner here, great fun in the twisties not much fun on the straight bits. Comfy enough for two hours at a time.

No problems other than a lose side stand bolt.

Lidl do a nespresso compatible capsule which I’ve been using for a few weeks without any problems. Make sure you get the strongest one though the others a bit weedy.

Oh and it works out at 18p per capsule :-)

We use this https://www.odoo.com/ for our EPOS in a small shop. It’s very configurable but the documentation isn’t great. We’re on the free plan. Not tried the web integration yet.

Could you not do this with a wordpress install and some plug-ins? woocommerce is working OK for our jewellery website…..

Managed to strip the wires out of the plug on my trailer on Sunday by not unplugging before unhitching.

After 2 failed attempts at rewiring I’ve just realised my mistake – I was looking at the wiring diagram and applying it to the back of the plug not the front.

Still only lost an hour whilst I waited for the RAC to rig up a couple of temp sidelights to get me back home :-)

    DOH!

If you buy a used Duster make sure it isn’t one of the first run made in India. Mine has had 2 new rear doors and a new tailgate, repainted engine bay and bonnet and a full waxoyl treatment. This was due to rust appearing in the first 6 months. And if anything goes wrong Dacia’s customer service will do their best to avoid doing anything. The four wheel drive version isn’t as frugal as the 2-wheel drive as it is lower geared. I manage about 45mpg on mixed runs.

Just returned to motorbikes after a 10 year sabbatical. I used to commute on the M6 daily and it put me off when the generator failed and the engine cut out in the fast lane during rush hour. My commute now is 6 miles direct or (12 if it’s a dry morning) and I live on the border of the dales so I just bought a KTM Duke 390 for weekend fun. You can have a lot of fun with 40hp.

I’d never use one for motorway commuting again though

Just seen you’re down south – lots of schools have laser cutters now – ring round a few – never know you’re luck. It will cut with a clean polished edge and absolutely straight.

Alternatively for less than a tenner plus postage order one the right size

You need a laser cutter. If you’re in East Lancs / Nth Yorks and it’s smaller than 600 x 300 I could help as I happen to have one.

A highway does not need to be adopted to be maintainable at public expense.

There are many unadopted highways which have public access rights over them, these may be recorded on the definitive map or not. There are often differences between the ‘List of Streets’ the Adopted Highway records.

They will probably run a decent Linux Distro OK. What’s the condition of the hardware like on them? (screen, keyboard etc)

Duane, these guys are really nice, the chalet and food are great. It’s a 5 minute walk to the gondola at Courchecal le Praznhm-ski[/url]
Nick and Heather both know all 3 valleys like the back of their hand and will usually ski with guests to show them around if required. They can usually get you a bit of discount on ski hire too.

Been running Saguaro and Gato and not had issues with sidewalls on either. Much prefer the Saguaro from a grip point of view though.

Hayes mx-5’s aren’t too bad, similar performance to BB7’s.

As above – decent outers and clean undamaged inners are crucial.

We just had a few days up at Super Besse and Besse riding. The XC / VTT ‘trails’ were mainly farm track or mown field edge, very little single track of any quality. We found lots of trails via viewranger app.

    Lovely rides though.

The uplift at Super Besse on the other hand.

Do you think Super Besse is worth a 1 1/2 hour drive?

Any UK Trail Centres you could compare it to for me?

    Cheers

Used to get 40mpg out of one of those Corsa’s mainly town driving with a bit of A-road thrown in. Should be better on a Motorway once it’s had a few runs.

Thought the ride was a bit crashy but good handling and quick enough for a 1.2

Mine sold for £1000 with 70,000 miles and not in brilliant condition and patchy service history – similar age to the OP’s.

If you decide to stop in Barnoldswick then The Fountains Inn does reasonable food and beer and has rooms.

There’s a YHA in Earby and there’s a decent chinese restaurant in town.

In Lollipop – It’s in Settings > Wireless &networks (…more) > Mobile networks > Access point names > then select the one your on and it will list all of the detail.

Might be worth checking with O2 if you’re settings are correct…

Moto g 4g (1st generation) upgraded to Lollipop 5.1 after factory reset and it’s now as snappy as Day 1.

Before update I was having enough issues to make me ant to throw it against the wall. O2 carrier setting got updated in the factory reset which helped with signal strength too.

Miele is alright until it goes wrong then it becomes very expensive. We have a 5 year old combi oven / microwave / grill that is very temperamental and when the service guy came out his diagnostics showed nothing wrong. Problem persisted so called them back and they wanted another call out fee despite him not fixing it in the first place.

A rubber seal for the door – a very simple seal at that – £30 + Vat.

Had a miele conduction hob go wrong too within 5 years. The neff we replaced it with seems much better.

Washing machine and tumble dryer – always buy cheap (Beko) and if it breaks out of warranty then replace rather than fix unless it’s just a seal or pipe.
