Why are dropper remotes more expensive than shifters when their functionality is so much simpler?

An smax can get a 180 travel medium enduro type bike 27.5 upright with front wheel off and only one seat folded if you go down the MPV route.

Much nicer place to sit than a blingo to boot

Head a cobra alarm on my duster with same symptoms. Finally fixed it by making sure the black control module that sat behind the glove box was fixed in position and the right way up, it had become unstuck and shifted about on bumpy roads.

There’s a 40 limit on the A14 for a chunk but i’d still go that way anyway.

    Well I would actually go hull-zeebrugge …..

Don’t forget the kia Carens too. I nearly bought a sub 40k 8 yr old one for 3k but got my head turned by an smax at the last minute.

The 2 litre petrol should do mid 35mpg

UK2 are doing ok for our hosting here. Could have bought the domain from them too but I have quite a few that I manage so they’ve all ended up being on my 123-reg account.

Why not use something like http://yslow.org/ to see what’s making your current site slow – it might not be the hosting….

I’ve plenty of cable outer (gear and brake) and a couple of pairs of 26″ tyres, probably a saddle somewhere too. Someone sort a frame and we can get to work speccing it up 🙂

Sister in Law was in the same boat as your GF just 3 months ago. 1 Keyhole Hysterectomy, 3 days in bed and 3 months later she has had the all clear.

If you like the elan but want more clearance then you probably want a Holdsworth Stelvio – not in stock on PLanetX but there’ll be a few on ebay.

I’ve got one and it’s fine, just heavy, it’s very similar to a Kona Dew drop frame I have in terms of clearances, bosses and geometry

As it’s not a corrosion issue I doubt fluids such as wd40 are going to help here. Turning the sprung element of the dropper is probably not doing an awful lot of good to the dropper internals. I’d try and grip the inserted part of the post using something like an oil filter wrench with the post wrapped in old inner tube

Have a look at the brand x cx dropper. Only 75mm of drop but it’s a 27.2 so may insert further part the link, it does on my Vitus.

You should be able to find a Duke 390 for less than £3k now, 2014/2015 models should be down to that price in private sales now if you look around.

WTB Volt on the touring bike and a spoon on the MTB for me. My touring bike is a little more upright than most road bikes though

Double dashed lines are a fairly good indication of tracks on the ground. Solid black ones are an indication there might be one if it hasn’t become blocked over time.

I use Strava Heatmaps to see if there’s any recent activity.

I found some good, a lot of rubbish and lots of boggy and blocked – but that’s in the Auvergne which is a bit more sparsely populated.

Since using heatmaps I’ve had much more success. Use streetview at the junctions of tracks and road where possible and it will give you an indication of whether it’s worth it or not.

If there’s no signs saying don’t ride I tend to ride it until I get stopped and then give a load of gallic shrugs and “Perdu”

Oh and I will be a couple of hours east of you next week in Sunny Pleaux!

WordPress isn’t difficult and can scale up to e-commerce pretty well. Loads of plug-ins and developers and web pages out there to help you too.

If you can Google you can build a WordPress site

Looks like you need a 31mm hex. How about a pair of M31 nuts locked on to a suitable bolt and a spanner.

    Inspired by this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hex-Tool-Hope-PF41-PF46-Press-Fit-Bottom-Brackets-Allen-Key-31mm-25mm-/132629856491?var=

Did a ride on Saturday which involved a few stiles – the odd one isn’t too bad but 4 or 5 field boundaries in a row especially if it’s and up and over a stone wall type stile gets tedious. Also had to push up around 200 metres of a trail as it was a lot of steps and steep uneven ground. The walk mode in this situation didn’t help much – by far the most tiring part of the ride and easily twice as hard as the normal bike, which itself is not lightweight.

Took it on a local wiggly bit of singletrack yesterday which requires a lot of changes of direction at reasonable pace but as I was fresher after the preceding climb found I had the energy and strength to ride it just as quickly as I normally do without needing a 10 minute break to get my breath back.

Some flatter bits of singletrack which are normally a bit of a grind as it’s hard to keep momentum were so much more fun.

It’s a bitch to manual but it pumps off lips and bumps just fine.

Followed a chap up out of arncliffe over to kettlekett on my ebike today. I was in eco mode getting a sweat on and barely making it into this chap. Turned out to be a non e- biker who I knew who was just for and on a good day.

Ebikes aren’t a free ticket they just let me keep up with the quick lads 😋

Why not 1 x 9 as a stop gap – Sunrace 11-42 9spd cassette and a 30t ring from uberbike. I haven’t needed a clutch rear mech (running an old slx shadow).

Got some of the new m3 and once I got the reach adjusted properly I can’t fault them, plenty of power with big discs and easy enough to bleed.(internal rooting so head to bleed when fitting)

Lever shape is nice and they look a bit bling with the red bore caps. Quality of the bolts and castings looks as good as Shimano.

The reach adjusting Allen bolts could do with a but of thread lock on them though as they creep a bit during a ride.

Massif Central in August is very hot but it’s been a wet, cool spring and we’re having hotter weather here in uk at present.

The Auvergne has some amazing road cycling on offer and if the weather stays this cool it’s worth a visit.

Salers and the Puy Mary are worth an overnight or two
