Yet to wreck my wire bead Vittoria Mezcal, 2.2 is a bit skinny but the 2.6 is mahoosive. Reports of there being some odd sized 2.35’s out there which actually sized up the same as the 2.2.

You can get a big enduro bike in an smax with seat dropped and front wheel out just fine. You can get 2 in and only have to drop one of the 2nd row of seats. 2 seats down and 4 will go in.

I’m 5’7 and have ridden both medium and small, I’d go for the small but the medium is ok too.

Not easy to manual as it’s so long as geex says above.

Handles big rocky lakes descents no problem, is a bit more of a handful at Stainburn as it takes a bit of slowing down when you get some speed up. On flowy stuff it’s great, keeps it’s speed up really well and removing the limit makes it more fun.

Soon as you get it convert it to tubeless as they come with super heavy dh tubes in them.

Used to lay the wetpour granules when I worked on the playground maintenance team. You mix it with some resin then pour it in wet and use a trowel to get an even surface. Small areas are easy, big ones you need to take your time. Decent edgings are required we used pre cast concrete edgings but you could probably get away with timber as long as it has been treated to make it water proof.

Moss will grow on it in the shade and although it will drain through to the substrate (lay it on compacted MOT Type 1 or similar) you need to avoid dips and hollows when you’re laying it.

The mulch looks very similar but may be easier to lay.

Alternatively just call someone like http://www.rtcsafety.co.uk/rubber-mulch/ and get them to install it. Prices are similar to laying tarmac.

Bark mulch is much cheaper and easier to install but will attract the local fauna. Budget for topping it up regularly.

*Edited as I mixed up the wetpour with the mulch

I couldn’t find anything that small in Android for that money.
The xz2 Compact is still fetching £500 after being on release for a while now.
Looks like the best you can manage at that size is another one from the xperia compact range

Seems like a good place to ask, looking for some 2.4 ish fast rolling tyres for my lovely light xc 29er (pics coming soon), currently got geax saguaro 2.2’s and would love a bit more shock absorption with similar weight and rolling (I know moon on a stick) what would you all recommend?

To be fair when it’s this dry unless i’m on techy stuff I’m reaching for hardtail 29er rather than the e-bike.

Nothing new in boxes but I treat all of my bikes as rolling spares providers and I’ve a few bits and pieces lying around.

The last time I had a full bikes worth sat idle it caused an n+1 situation!

If they cleaned out the gullies more frequently there wouldn’t be as much flooding which leads to more potholes. Which leads to more surface dressing which they don’t clean out of the gullies which block and cause more flooding which causes more potholes….. repeat to fade

Works ok on minor French roads but then they have open ditches in the verges for drainage

Second hand CG125 would probably be a better option. Couple of cans of BBQ paint and a pair of chunky tyres and you’re all set.

Don’t know about a galaxy but in an smax you could get 2 bikes upright with 2 of the 2nd row of seats up and one seat in the 3rd row up with front wheels off and bars rotated

I had a 1st gen one and couldn’t wait to be rid of it. Paint was thin, everything corroded, seat padding collapsed (I’m no heiffer) would never do better than 45 mpg even on a run, back seats wouldn’t fold flat so load area was worse than most hatchbacks.

Buying a second hand one as a farm / utility vehicle I could understand but brand new for town driving? Not for me.

If you test drove a 2wd be aware that the boot on a 4wd will probably be smaller – might be a problem if the height is important. Oh and 1st gear on a 4WD is a much lower ratio and pulling away from junctions becomes tiresome in town – especially as the clutch is quite heavy

Bought a house in Blackpool 20 years ago the occupants of which were tenants who got booted out by the owner a week before we exchanged. It was a bit of a do-er upper so the garden was always going to be the last thing we sorted.

After a couple of months of summer we got round to getting a skip to the back gate to get rid of all of the building waste which had been accumulating in the garden along with the fridge freezer the tenants had kindly left us to remove for them.

On trying to move it we discovered even with three of us it was too heavy to move so decided to open it up to see if it was full of water.

Turns out it was full of meat – most of a pigs carcass in fact, including the head. The maggots had made a good start too. The liquid that poured out over the concrete was instant vomit quality and the smell of it hung around for weeks despite dustbins full of bleach solution being poured over it. I had to set a huge bonfire directly on the concrete to be finally rid of it.

Road bike climbs – Puy Mary near Salers is quite a popular one and shouldn’t be too busy around that time – gets packed in the summer.

My duke 390 has been on commuter duty this week I think that’s the first February riding where I’ve not needed an oversuit.

Off to the folks next week where my Dad’s 400/4 will be getting some spanner time.

I finally finished building mine up with a selection of bits I had knocking about and a bargain 29 Manitou Tower I got off the classifieds here.

    https://photos.app.goo.gl/6DpHtzBBpUnBsrJ87

    (Photo was pre-steerer cutting)

First impressions are that it climbs really well and I didn’t really struggle despite only having 32/42 as my lowest gear. It’s not the most confidence inspiring on the rockier stuff but I wouldn’t describe it as twitchy, however -2 on the head angle using an angleset could be interesting.

The wheels that are on it are complete boat anchors so I’ll be on the lookout for some wider, lighter rims but the dropper, short stem and wide bars are staying

French and German here so I can at least be polite to the locals when skiing. I find it helps my reading and being and to initiate conversation well but my understanding / listening skills always improve more after a few days in resort
