Other than the tracker version that ccm is missing it’s arse.

Sure I’ve seen those fantics for around £5k somewhere.

It has to be very rocky and fast for my chain to drop (this happens less and less as I descend fully into middle age). I don’t think you can get clutch mechs in 9 speed unless there’s a new acera or altus one been released in the last year or so.

If you can find an 11-42 i’d run one of those with a goatlink and a 30t narrow/wide up front. 30 front 40 rear leaves me wanting on a few occasions

It will work without goatlink but it will be better with. Been running 9spd 11-40 on a couple of bikes for a few years now. Deore mechs on mine.

There’s a real worry that only those who have a lay-off clause in their contract will qualify for the furlough scheme.

Most people who do not have a job in a manufacturing facility are unlikely to have this clause in their contract.

That will leave the employers in a very difficult place if the law isn’t changed when the scheme goes live.

I wonder if his is one of the few insurance policies that does cover him in the event of forced closure by the govt and he’s basically taunting them into shutting him down

We represent a foodservice wholesaler who has just switched from supplying pubs, restaurants, cafes etc to doing home delivery. Take up has been strong and he only launched it on Social yesterday. There’s hundreds of foodservice operators out there with staff, vehicles and stock that should be doing the same in the not too distant future – especially with the fresh food.

Jet2 have just cancelled all flights to Austria https://twitter.com/jet2tweets/status/1238453180230443010?s=20

Looks like we’ll have got refunds for everything now as Car hire cancelled FOC this morning

Yup, looks like season over, might try and sneak a couple of days in Jockland but hotel cancelled our reservation FOC so worst case scenario is we lose flights and car hire.

Gutted but I guess in 6 months this will look like a drop in the ocean.

@Bianchi-Boy About 2 1/2 hours away then, what’s your usual route down from the ferry? Still on the Duke 390?

@Bianchi-Boy – whereabouts in the Limousin you back and firth to? I keep having thoughts of riding down to our place in the Auvergne (Pleaux 15700) on my Guzzi, might be more fun with company…..

Last time I drove (from Yorkshire) found a place in Arras which had great secure parking and wasn’t overly expensive.

Isopropyl Alcohol might soften the latex sealant up a bit too – maybe not at the same time as the heat though

Spring side reliable especially coil u-turn, damping side not so – typical poor MoCo performance and reliability.

Solid enough but not very sophisticated compared to modern forks. Wound down to 100/110 would be fine as a jump fork.

It would be easier to get a lightweight Linux distro on it. Loads to choose from some designed to look like they’re running Chrome too.

With Jet2 (as I understand it) we have to pay for Sports Equipment which is £35 each way. Going to try and get down to 1 hold bag, 2 hand luggage and 1 ski bag next year.

I have a pair of the magnetic Summits – the normal ones are fairly tall so definitely go for the smaller size. Lenses have held up well over the last 3 seasons.

Bought the new skis at the weekend following 2 years of poor ski hire quality, now need ot find a bag.

Usually fly with Jet2 so we have a 22KG limit so it will only be skis and some gear that go in, not boots.

Any recommendations for a bag that will take 2 pairs of skis/poles and jackets and salopettes?

As there’s two of us we can save 200 euro minimum per trip so in 3 years they will have paid for themselves as we tend to go twice per year and I’m not looking to buy anything spendy – just something not trashed.

Mine were 3 year old Blizzard Brahmas – in a couple of places there were gouges out of the top sheet. When looking down the edges you could see gouges in them and the bottoms had plenty of scratches.

When I asked them to service them they said no but they would swap them for something else but they had very little in the shop other that very piste oriented stuff in my size and I was keen to try and progress my off-piste technique from falling over immediately to standing up for 30 seconds.

Found it hilarious when the shop assistant started inspecting them for damage when I returned them – I think she noted a raised eyebrow and said they were fine and shuffled off to put them away.

When we left 3v on Sunday morning it was lashing down at 1850, gotta hope that this Atlantic storm will pass quickly and things turn colder again soon.

After her another crap ski hire experience where even after paying for premium we end up with 3 Yr old worn out rubbish and being charged 100 euro for the privilege I’m thinking of getting our own skis. We seem to be at a place where we’re not progressing rapidly so whatever we get now should be OK for 3 or 4 years.

Anyone here used Glisshop, they seem to be cheapest online.

Also looking at sending skis, boots etc ahead by baggage courier to save hassle of dragging them round airports. Anyone done this?

If it’s by overland services you would think tour operators would be falling over themselves to promote this kind of thing to reduce weight and fuel use on the aircraft….

Also anyone got any 1st hand experience of alpe d’huez for intermediate level skiers?

If you’re comfortable why change it, biggest issue with long rides is discomfort causing fatigue. Faster / lighter tyres would be my first change. Vittoria Voyager Hypers are fast rolling and available in 38 and 42 and usually cheap too.

If the ride is harsh and you currently have a steel fork then maybe look at carbon….

Goma 29 x 2.4 here – went up tubeless easily with Tesa tape on a 25mm id rim. I had some Gato’s once on a 26er – I’m lucky to be alive to tell the tale, they only lasted 2 rides because I thought I might have been riding like a jessie on the first one so gave ’em another go
