If you don’t use the touch screen functionality might be worth turning it off and see if it speeds things up.

Does it have an SSD? If not then that will be the best thing you can do. Oh and the Yahoo mail app loads lots of ads so see if you can ditch that and use Windows Mail client

Another Barl’ick local here – Earby / Pinhaw is better than Weets. You wouldn’t want to ride either every week though as there’s not much variety especially if it’s been wet

I’ve got one in the shed if you’re looking to buy one – might need a bit of a clean up but works fine.

I had neck problems due to a low front end and a 2″ rise in the bar sorted it all out lovely. Not bendy and doesn’t look gopping IMO.

@liftman New batteries fitted, i’m now not getting an error code for a missing or low charged backup battery but the 24V light is still not lit on the U1 Board.
I removed Plug 9 and no change and I removed plug 26 and it still wasn’t lit. This gets me to Main Control U1 or Plugs 1,2,3,4,8,22,23.

Did a reset of the board and still no change.

At this point what do you think next steps might be?

    Thanks
    Martin

OK no problem, batteries due in a few days time so we’ll soon see. Can’t thank you enough we had been stuck at this point for nearly a year as we’d been unable to get an engineer out to look at it. STW to the rescue once again!

Do you normally find that the batteries are glued down as ours are stuck fast and don’t appear to be fixed with brackets

Brilliant @liftman batteries are behind that panel and after reconnecting them (don’t know how the connectors had come off!) the error codes now are telling me the batteries are below sufficient voltage. Off to buy some new batteries 🙂

Nope only floors 2 and top are lit bottom one isn’t. (3 floor lift)
Do you think it could be behind where the buttons are: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Wb2TAuCPAMjK4JbL7

I have an Aritco Vector Platform lift which is in France. It was installed by Thyssen Krupp (Clermont-Ferrand Agent) who now won’t answer our calls or emails.

It’s a screw type platform lift.

At some point between uses the local power station phase was changed and this has apparently confused the board allowing the lift to pass by the lowest floor sensor and hit the floor beneath. This caused the screw to travel up until it hit the stop above it thus bending it as can be seen here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/pYLZPPm7Tr3tgD8i7

I managed to remove the stop thus releasing the pressure on the screw which allowed be to use the manual winder to get the platform to the lower floor.

I’m now left with an error on the board. By downloading the installation guide for a similar later model lift which uses the same control board (Aritco U1) I have managed to work out the error is to do with the backup battery but this is where it gets confusing.

I don’t think our lift ever had a back up battery as when following the wires to the plug it ends in empty terminals and I cannot find a battery in the lift or by the control panel. Also we have a manual winder which the lifts with a backup battery don’t appear to have.

I’m now stuck with anon-functioning lift and the control board is lit up like this: https://photos.app.goo.gl/MMh4UVWBdgGufwhq6. I’ve tried to follow this troubleshooting guide (for a lift with a back up battery) here:https://photos.app.goo.gl/en9S2tb5qWEJhsZy9

but get stuck at step 2 as we don’t have a battery.

There is a wheelchair accessible caddy life conversion available. We test drive one, ride was awful, fuel tank was tiny due to ramp and it rattled like a babies toy box over anything that wasn’t billiard smooth. Bought an Alhambra not too much more money, bigger just as rattly and a tiny bit more range.

Wheelchair ramp conversions are generally awful but if you need one you need one.

Range is so compromised I think there should be easy opportunities for EV but probably no market.

Well done for getting a big trip in – looks that ship has sailed for me this year but had a few long commutes before lockdown eased 🙂

Next two weeks will be spent planning bike storage at our place in the Cantal as I’ve come to the conclusion I need another one, maybe a project, maybe early Hinckley Triumph based.

If I can sort out a decent garage / workshop over there retirement plans may include guided tours partnering with the Auberge in town for food and accommodation.

Had mine for over a year now, it gets ridden when I’m on my own only. It got me riding again and I can see it getting used in winter more as it becomes harder to encourage others out.

Loved taking it to France and using it to look for new trails out there, having the option of simply turning round and losing very little time and effort when a path becomes impassable is fab.

Ridden my non motorised bikes much more this year as a result of riding the ebike through winter I think.

I can’t be bothered riding unassisted, feels way too draggy. Getting something to raise the cutout to 20mph I think it’s essential to burn off the road sections.

30 miles and 3500ft are about the limit in range for me on a e8000 unit.

Not really any good for paths with lots of stiles because of the weight lifting them over and the stop / start seems to drain the battery quickly too.

you’re thinking of Hertz Van Rental

    Not Rusty van Welding?

Piece of toothpaste tube in case you split your tyre sidewall – will be enough support to stop the tube forcing it’s way out, Duct tape is not always good enough.

After cleaning I spray fork stanchions and dropper post with silicone.

Oh and search for Putoline on here and get ready to buy a deep fat fryer 🙂

I was supposed to be going to France on 3rd September – now predict it will be biblical rain here and super sunshine there for two weeks.

I may fit the mud tyres in advance to see if I can offset it

@Plumber (*waves) was probably going to recommend Barnoldswick too ! Doubt he’ll admit it though 😉

Clitheroe is a slightly easier commute than Barnoldswick but house prices are a good chunk higher. Skipton High St not what it was, the pedestrianisation on Market days makes it nicer although it increases traffic on surrounding roads.

Skipton’s biggest plus is trains to Leeds. Try and avoid having to commute through Colne as traffic there is horrific morning and evening.
