5yr bank loan at 19yr old in 1986 for an 84 1.6 GTI on the strength of this Group B beast, then had to find £600 a year to insure it,sacrifices everywhere and a bit of O/T!! Happy days!!

Loved it, thought the camaraderie was superb , reminded me of my apprenticeship in a shipyard 30+ years ago, characters everywhere, thought the guy was spot on who said “I understand all the carbon footprint etc but why is it only the UK , Germany and China expanding their mining!!”

No ideas on the legalities but an accountant once told me you could loan yourself money , then default on the payments, the company then decides its too much like hard work to chase the debt, someone on here will know if this is a load of rubbish or not, so buy a bike decide on the repayments then default if it is above board.

Crap crap position, feel for you, if i was willing to borrow to lend them id want it in writing and legal that id want double back in percentage or no deal, for example house worth 100k you give them 10k they owe you 20% of the house after your wifes cut is subtracted!!

Up lane by coop past Brewery by river ,up short steep hill turn right as tarmac runs out follow cycleway to either half way then straight across main road follow path to spill out at farm , turn right along the cycle path back towards Coniston, half way cross road head over cattle grid towards lake , follow the shore to Blue bird cafe, up Lake road though little shopping estate and pick up path in corner follow path through Coniston Hall campsite right into corner follow path along the lake cross stream and via right towards George Clarkes amazing space caravan and follow the road all the way out towards Torver, grab a beer at the wilsons arms or the church inn then pick up path behind church inn and roll back to Coniston, about 10 miles.
If you dont cross the road half way along the first bridleway you can ride to the end ,cross the Tilberthwaite road then pick up a path to YEW Tree Farm then roll back towards Coniston then pick the track up on the left i mention in the first line that spills out at the farm. Looking at a map it should make sense, I do this with Mrs and youngest 10+ miles if I remember correctly.Weve been known to stop at the pubs and the Bluebird Cafe :-) Oh and not a bloody clue why my font does this!!

Why not throw all the extravagant prizes in a raffle at £10 a ticket would think the pot would far exceed the amounts that some rich person has bid for it.
Would think Take That would much rather play to a run of the mill person and friends than some Rich person who will have their “friends” round just to ram one up them!

Still got a 55 Plate Disco(70k) bought it 11 months old, apart from service costs only had to replace rubber bushes and a service kit on the compressor last year, been an absolute joy to own, let me down big time two years ago in the highlands 300 miles from home, cut out would not start, ended up in a indy garage where they changed half a dozen bits they thought it was , half way home cut out again, bit of research after limping home pointed at the battery being replaced at 7 year old as it drops voltage as it ages, probably wasted £500 in Scotland, bingo right as rain never missed a beat since!!Wife has a 55 plate Shogun ,bought in 2006 bit agricultural compared to the Disco but absolutely bullet proof ,shes had two prior to that, none ever had a problem. I use a Navara at work drinks diesel like its going out of fashion, but I am a touch heavy footed.

    You are defo not alone.
When I first set up in business 20+ years ago I found it easier working the weekends as well then 2 days crap would not end up on my Monday desk and no Monday morning feeling as everyday rolled into the next, soon realized this was not the way forward, like you say if you`re off for a day or a week there is still a load of complicated stuff to come back to with the nice easy tasks cleared, the other lads always came back to a clean tray , not anymore!!

Loads of skill involved in operating a manual Bridgeport Milling machine, probably the most reliable versatile little machine you can have , owned two for over 30 years and still spot on today, if you were lucky it might have longitudinal feed and possibly a quill feed.

A fool and his money and all that! Did you operate them with a co-ax cable? Hand operated CNC 8O to press the start button, surely hand made is a chunk of metal and a load of hand tools is it not?

Pay up front last few times, not bought for a while and looking at the cost of the equivalent models to my Trek Remedy 9 2013 I wont be. Wouldnt turn nose up at interest free but hate to be paying for something two years later.

Lad I worked with always had a loan out and credit card maxed up to the hilt, was shit feared of dying and not having a load of debt thinking hed got one over on the system, wheres the logic in that :? , he was only in his 30s, saw him on facebook the other day probably mid 50s now, wonder if hes still running with the same mentality or if he`s increased his debt as the big day gets closer!!
