Congratulation on the young one , more fun than biking.Lessen the hours at work, might not be easy financially but cut your sloth accordingly and all that, old guy I worked with told me that when I had kids, “24 hrs in a day son 8 for work 8 for bed and 8 for you”, never quite got to that probably 9 work 7 bed and 8 me. So glad I did as managed to play rugby ,cycle socialize and see lots of the 3 children over the last 20 years. Hope you manage to crack it.
I`d love to lease , but to have someone walk round it with a clipboard and pen after Mrs S has used it for two years could leave the family bankrupt! Shame as its never her fault :-)
Snapped my 2003 Trek liquid 30 right there and right through top tube 2″ in front of seat, I bought it second hand and Trek would not honor the lifetime warranty, only valid with the original buyer, what a load of crap, anyways I turned two 7075 Aluminium hollow inserts and lined the frame up , then got a mate to weld up burning into the insert as well as the frame. rode it hard on everything Lake District for another few years with little more than a few creaks!! I eventually stripped it and rebuilt a xs MTB for my son with the parts and scrapped the frame only because I did not want it to fail on someone else.
49 years old and last few months started to look forward to getting home from work , just making a coffee and sit and do nothing for half an hour, and actually enjoy it, would of previously rushed some job or task in!!
Hi Harry got one of these ,Marin Bayview Trail 24 excellent condition I know its not new but you could always have a look if we could tie in with no obligation to buy. I would rather it went to someone off here than any old ebayer, let me know if you are interested.I have a load of photos on my phone ready to list it but just not got round to it. Here it is.
This time every year, load the loft with poison and off they go to drink and die, in a barn with a small beck running through garden so prevention is a thankless task, mate had them dead under the floor and the smell is absolutely awful!! Best of luck!!

I’m so close to buying a Dune… I’ve always wanted to try a fat bike and the value seems pretty good.
I need to stop looking at this thread!
One in the classifieds looks good value for money if you live anywhere near Derbyshire so you can do a cash deal after viewing.
Lessons before could well spoil the trip, if all his friends are non-skiers then they will all be in the same group due to their ability, if he becomes fairly competent he may be up a group with those who have been before and if they are really good they can end up with a group of 2 or so with an instructor and miss all the laughs.
A good set of gloves and a cheaper pair in the pocket is always a good idea if they get wet before lunch.
Best holidays ever he will love it.
10K waterproof, was £160+, Austria could still be cold if you get a bad week.
Buy the best you can get, a cold and wet kid is going o have an awful holiday, a dry and warm kid is going to be addicted forever, good gloves are an absolute must, tee shirts and hoodies or tracksuits will leave him damp underneath, only my opinion and looking at all the above not the right one, sent my kids away with the above in mind and they`ve all had a blast!

They can be great fun one day and a nightmare the next getting you into all sorts of trouble, and probably best if you don`t let strangers stroke it when you are out and about!
You`ve just done it sirromj, “thanks for all your answers really appreciate them” :-)
I just think you wouldn`t ask someone a question and just walk off in a normal situation.
He’s 6, I’d be more concerned that he was happy and enjoying school at that age, school’s probably worried that he’s not going to be focused for the sex education and careers talks next week!!
Monday to Friday excellent, a glass at following times 7.00,7.30, 10.00, 12.30, 3.00 , 5.00, sadly once i`m home i start grazing on crap for the night, Sat/Sun all over place, can forget to drink for hrs.
People who start a topic with a question and then never write on it again once people have took time to answer, oh and people that write on threads that they have no interest in whatsoever instead of moving on
Dads Renault 18 way back, was an absolute lottery what lights came on the back in the rain , you’d indicate and the brake lights come on , brake and the reversing light came on , lad at work had a Megane only problem I ever remember was sun roof passing water which he fixed with works 2″ sellotape !!
