Stick a 5mm drill down and go with the 1/4 20 unc there will only be a few thou of the 7/32 thread left and the tap will more than likely pick up on the original 20 tpi. Any local Engineering company will lend you a tap if they are half decent and someone there would probably tap it out for you, I certainly would if you need it doing

Not the greatest by a long way but really enjoyed Cavendish stage 13 in 2013 when everyone thought it was going to be a nothing day and when the elastic got broke by saxo he dived across to hang on in and win the sprint.

Good advise the grease and the coppaslip, the second one reminds me of an old fitter I worked with he used it by the barrel load, but boy was he the best fitter I ever saw , nothing he fixed ever broke again, he would strip brand new pumps straight from the factory and play hell they were not fit for purpose and balance and modify, they would literally run for ever, it was a joy to watch him, saying that I would not like to be the one paying his wages as he was so meticulous and took forever to finish jobs.

If what i`ve been told over the years is true Stainless steel screws going directly into aluminium components can fire up big time as a “battery effect” reaction can take place with the stainless steel winning and the Aluminium corroding around it.
Might be better with some good quality 12.9 steel fasteners. Apologies if i`m wrong.

Very similar to a lad round here, known for not taking crap off anyone, car cut him up while cycling along the side of Coniston, followed with a few rude gestures at car, car waiting further up road, lad rides over to drivers windows, few heated words ,leans in grabs keys hurls them into Coniston Water and rides off with a smile on his face leaving a gobsmacked motorist stuck!!

Friend had a brand new Shogun took it back to dealers for a 6 week check or similar, hour later phone call you had best come in to the garage , got there to be shown he had had the front drive shafts stolen, whittled it down to a weekend in Liverpool doing a track day previous week, was told it was an hour to two hour job to remove them!! Think it cost him about £1K, another time side window smashed , cigarettes stolen , laptop and phone left!!

Some really sad posts here, thinking of all you unlucky people really brings it home how fortunate I have been, I have been very lucky and always close to my family, dad took me out for a beer on my 18th and been out with him for a pint or two pretty much every Thursday night that we are both available , that was 32 years ago this coming August. The club has gone from being rammed with names on board for a game of snooker to a dozen of us max and two unused snooker tables!!

Welcome to the forum, i`m with Jekkyl and pick up a nice light hard tail for starters, nothing worse than having to hit the A roads with the cyclist haters that want to buzz you at 50mph ,bad enough after a few years but as a newbie be even worse, you are literally a swerve away from being a statistic, B roads are our target wherever possible where we can actually have a craic.
Also flat bars are better for hanging stuff on in the garage once the love is lost :-)

From the Government website apologies if i`m misunderstanding this Drac?

    1. Introduction
1.1 The new regime: a brief overview
Prior to the coming into force of the Land Registration Act 2002, a squatter could acquire the right to be registered as proprietor of a registered estate if they had been in adverse possession of the land for a minimum of 12 years. However, the doctrine of adverse possession did not fit easily with the concept of indefeasibility of title that underlies the system of land registration. Nor could it be justified by the uncertainties as to ownership which can arise where land is unregistered; the legal estate is vested in the registered proprietor and they are identified in the register.

The Land Registration Act 2002 has created a new regime that applies only to registered land. This new regime is set out in Schedule 6 to the Act. It makes it more likely that a registered proprietor will be able to prevent an application for adverse possession of their land being completed. The following paragraphs provide a brief overview of the new regime; the remaining sections of this guide discuss it in more detail.

adverse possession of registered land for 12 years of itself will no longer affect the registered proprietor’s title
after 10 years’ adverse possession, the squatter will be entitled to apply to be registered as proprietor in place of the registered proprietor of the land
on such an application being made the registered proprietor (and certain other persons interested in the land) will be notified and given the opportunity to oppose the application
if the application is not opposed (by ‘opposed’ we mean that a counter notice is served; see Giving counter notice to the registrar in response to notice. Instead, or at the same time, the registered proprietor may object to the application on the ground that there has not been the necessary 10 years’ adverse possession; see Objecting to the squatter’s application for the implications of such an objection.), the squatter will be registered as proprietor in place of the registered proprietor of the land
if the application is opposed, it will be rejected unless either
it would be unconscionable because of an equity by estoppel for the registered proprietor to seek to dispossess the squatter and the squatter ought in the circumstances to be registered as proprietor
the squatter is for some other reason entitled to be registered as proprietor
the squatter has been in adverse possession of land adjacent to their own under the mistaken but reasonable belief that they are the owner of it, the exact line of the boundary with this adjacent land has not been determined and the estate to which the application relates was registered more than a year prior to the date of the application.
in the event that the application is rejected but the squatter remains in adverse possession for a further two years, they will then be able, subject to certain exceptions, to reapply to be registered as proprietor and this time will be so registered whether or not anyone opposes the application

If I am correct it does not matter how long they have used it , Land registration was set up so that land stayed with the correct owner, it is your land to do as you well please with. Go and talk nicely and let them know you are going to fence it off on the boundary line to improve your off road parking. End of , if they moan then they are unreasonable as they know exactly what is theirs and what isn`t.

Can`t remember quite what make of block I had but I dropped off the 11 and slid on a MTB 30 that just caught the splines on the hub I had , played around with the rear derailleur adjusters and fortunately all was good, trialled it for a month or so.
I had a target of 8 hrs in my head ,I`d done rough calcs that 12 miles was up steep hills and 100 miles up and down so I said 6mph average over the 12 miles so that left me 6 hours for the 100 miles. Was I glad of the 30 to help spin away the 2 hrs of climbing. Good luck.

Possible to save quite a bit if you are handy

Defo correct nickjb but change to “Possible to save thousands”, don`t go with one company to do it all just ask around then get the right individuals in as and when required, all is possible if you are flexible and a good planner. This is a nice job really, drains may be an issue if they are in the way and usually are.Good luck.

Does STW automatically block some people for you? as in over 6 years lurking around on here I can genuinely say ive never noticed Chewkws name. If people started blocking too many and there were a few blocked people involved in a thread then surely the gist of the thread would not make any sense to the blocker.
