    Aaaargh! Too complicated!

Swaying back towards this Samsung at the moment, I reckon 32″ is probably big enough (it’s not a huge room), it’s well priced and reviewed and comes with a 5 year warranty from Richer Sounds.

I bought one of those a couple of weeks ago. So far am very pleased with it. Got mine a little cheaper from Amazon. It’s actually slightly cheaper now than when I got mine 👿

Not sure how long the warranty was though.

“Build a man a fire, and he’ll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he’ll be warm for the rest of his life.”

“The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.”

“Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying ‘End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH’, the paint wouldn’t even have time to dry.”

“It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.”

    From memory:
    5 pairs shoes
    2 pairs boots
    1 pair wellies
    4 pairs trainers
    3 pair cycling shoes
    1 pair football boots
    1 pair sandals

Was thinking that was a lot, but looking at some of your posts, maybe not.

I’m not sure 4 is enough to worry about to be honest.

I used to drink between 8 and 10 a day. Then found out at my annual asthma check that my blood pressure was much higher than it should have been. Cut down to one or two coffees a day (the rest decaf) and my blood pressure dropped down to normal.

6 miles for me. Mostly A Road (by name anyway, you’d never guess it was an A Road if you didn’t know!).

Sealskinz socks, tights over the top and Endura overshoes yesterday. No rain, but plenty of puddles, streams etc. Still had toasty warm dry feet 2 hours later.

I’ve only just started using the Sealskinz socks and I agree with trail_rat. Wet shoes and cold winds do suck any warmth out of your feet.

I had this very conversation with the salesman when I bought my last car. His assessment was that for the miles I do (typically 6-7 mile trips, approx. 6000 miles a year) the petrol would be the better option. Basically I wouldn’t be doing the mileage (a) to justify the extra cost of the diesel engine and (b) to make sure that the DPF wouldn’t clog up.

Disappointed, born and bred in Cumbria (although technically it was Lancashire when I was born) and only got 83%.

My brother used to have one of these. I only rode it a couple of hundred yards, but the feeling of the frame being connected to the bars by bungee ropes left me a little less than impressed.

I did look Smett , but never heard of gp-batteries, would you recommend them? (or just not worry at that price)

We’ve used them at work for years and never had any problems. They’re probably not market leaders in terms of battery life, but for the money they’re good value.

Anyone know of where I can get 10 odd decent CR2032’s without paying a £1 plus each, or buying old packs off amazon?

    Try CPC
    http://cpc.farnell.com/gp-batteries/cr2032-c5/battery-lithium-cr2032-3v-pk5/dp/BT00878

    £2.60 + VAT for pack of 5

Great company. Used them for years at work. Worth looking out for the offer leaflets, as often these prices don’t appear on the website.

I used a Joe’s No Flats kit, but with some Stans fluid I had on the shelf.

Was a bit of a faff to get the tyres popped onto the rims. I needed a compressor with these rims, but my old bike worked fine with just a track pump.

This time has been with Maxxis tyres and they’ve sealed up first time. The Continental’s I tried before were quite porous and took a couple of weeks and a lot of faffing to seal up.

Probably depends on individual combinations of rim and tyre as to how easy it’ll be, but I still think it’s worth a try.

Personally, I’d give it a try, you can always go back if you don’t like it. I switched last year and really liked it. The ability to run lower pressures seems to give me more traction and just seems more comfortable. So when I changed bikes a few weeks ago, one of the first things I did was convert to tubeless.

I never have been ‘gnar’, never will be. I don’t care whether I’m the fastest to the bottom or to the top, I still enjoy myself.

My brother used to own one of the early magnesium framed Kirk mountain bikes. There was that much flex in the frame that I couldn’t ride it on the flat, let alone stamp on the pedals. It felt like the top and down tubes were made of jelly. It eventually died, snapped just behind the headset.

Thanks knightrider. £160 (would need prescription lenses) is a fair amount of money to spend just to find out if something works, so all opinions and experiences are appreciated.

I understand your point about fogging. There are some small gaps in the foam ‘seals’, as shown here, but how much affect that would have on fogging is questionable. They do offer ‘fog free’ lenses, but at an additonal £125!

I was just curious as I tend to find my eyes are quite sensitive to the wind, any speeds above about 15mph cause them to start watering and affecting my vision. I’ve never yet found any glasses that help, so thought these may warrant further investigation.

    Thanks for your input.

Another vote for ICE, much better than the software that came with my Canon DLSR. Very simple to use as well.

I didn’t realise ICE did RAW either. Going to have to give it a try.
