Dunno what you have done, but I used this guide[/url] to service my nephew’s Raidon fork. Further down there is a link to YouTube video with very suspenseful music and PDF of fork manual. Used together, with a couple of cheeky fine ale’s, I got it sorted.

I heard nothing from Bianchi for over 3 months despite lbs chasing up over a 4 yo snapped frame, then one morning a new frame arrived direct to my door. No acknowledgement, no correspondence, lbs had no idea and it was just as if I had ordered a new frame. Not sure if that helps or not.

Have a kick around in the park with your mates, wearing a football shirt and no-one blinks an eyelid.

    Get you Wayne Rooney

My life is a bit weird, I’m only 38 so not feeling old yet. I wasted a lot of my 20’s being a partner/ carer to a girl that had mental health issues, and I was kind of trapped in a duty/ obligation thing. But I binned her and never looked back.

Even in the darkest days I don’t think I’ve ever sat and worried about reinventing myself or start a new adventure. I’m not really sure what that toss means. Just look at what at what makes you happy and what doesn’t and then do some actual stuff that moves you to happy. Some of it is painful and difficult stuff to sort. But if you spend all your time hand wringing and not doing much, then stuff won’t get better. Chin up chap, and crack on. Sounds like you have a lot of stuff you should be grateful for.

Just sorted some non UST mavic 717’s with a wrap of Stan’s tape, a valve and Stan’s fluid. Used my pop bottle compressor to pop some beaver’s on. Jobs a good ‘un so far.

As above, I think I’ve only seen one other X-men film, and can’t say I was impressed by that, but did enjoy Logan.

If I didn’t want spoilers I doubt I would open a thread titled ‘Logan’. The internet isn’t difficult.

But I saw it last night, and I thoroughly concur with op. I’m certainly not a have a favourite super hero type person, but really enjoyed it.

Hey, I’m just glad there are those quiet unassuming people out there doing good work keeping the internet, the industry and the mtb community safe. Working in the shadows and not wanting to draw attention to….

I did 10 years as a mental health nurse assessing people that self harmed or tried to take their own lives. I loved it to be fair.
But also whilst doing this I was investing in properties, houses, shop’s, factory units..’owt you could lease or rent really. That grew to a level that I didn’t need to be nursing, so sent my card back. I also have investments in a few businesses. I don’t actually enjoy it like I did the nursing, but overall it gives me a far better lifestyle. So all good.

I’m a road racer and occasional mtb’er, and I enjoy both. I used to cx race in the road off season to keep up fitness but after 6-7 years of doing it I just resigned to train harder on the road. I never got it and consequently never got much out of it, I occasionally enjoyed the odd race, but I think that was more about competing in some decent races, rather than the riding. Equally I got a gravel bike about a year ago, and ended up just trying to make it like my caad12 disc which is my winter trainer, and I just use the ‘dale more. Guess I just like road biking and the odd MTB ride, nowt wrong with cx or the whole gravel thing, just not for me.

My dad battered the shite so badly for years out of my mum that by the age of 5 the courts stopped him having any contact with his kids till they were 16. I’m 36 and he lives within a mile of me and I’ve never as far as I recall shared a word with him, same as my brother and two sisters. In fairness, I wouldn’t piss on him if I found him on fire. I have an awesome mum and step-dad, and despite that I’m still jealous of you guys. So fair dues to the dad love.

I had similar with an ex, I think from the parents side is just that want to provide. You may well have an agreeable conversation about what you both think is right, but as soon as the child starts moaning the tension gets felt between the couple and it just becomes an ongoing squabble around the margins as the parent tries to appease both partner and child. Hence I sacked it off, as it became blatantly obvious this tension would never stop, regardless if the agreement was reasonable or not. Tough stuff.

I’m on a bottle of Glenn Moray the Islay one which was my reward for fitting a friends kitchen. Has to be said she probably purchased it on price rather than any knowledge. But for what it is, it’s not bad at all, and a nice unexpected gift. I can’t moan about free booze :D

I’ve put over 6000 miles on a set on my caad12, used in all conditions and without any issues. I’m probably due to change the rear bearings but it’s not urgent. I’m 63kg, but they have taken some decent hits on rough roads. I’d get them again without worries.

Stranger’s that tell you why they have ordered food the way they have….’I can’t stand soggy bacon’, ‘I’m vegan’, ‘I only like fresh tomatoes’ etc just because you are stood next to them, and people that put fruit on their cereal.

Does this include trainers even thoiugh I’m not currently training

Yep, although I understand the lines may get blurred at ‘fashion’ trainers for some. Whilst I clearly appreciate I may be in the minority and wrong, but trainers for me are for a specific sporting purpose.

and a sweat hoody in spite of not being a boxer?

No it’s more people having to dress in a manner that they feel makes their main hobby, interest or passion obvious at all times. Clearly I do irritate myself as my obsession for dressing to the occasion identifies me as a fashion nazi.

As above, a mate offered to deliver a bike I was selling as he was working in the area of the buyer. Damaged it in transit, cost me above £150 following negotiations with buyer. Mate offered to cover, and I refused. We went for some beers, life is good.

Go with the bike that you take the longest, lingering, look at.

I’ve spent some time looking at them, but I’m not sure lingering is the word. Both are fugly, and I say that owning a carbon grade. It’s more function over form.

Given the ease of access to prolific amounts of Internet grot, you would probably be better off getting her some swimming goggles rather than worrying about birth control.

They have done better so far than some, I would have thought the Rutland at Baslow would have stood a better chance. On the main road, the rear backs onto the river. Main reason it struggled seemed to be the landlord; his personality, beer and hygiene seemed to lack a bit. There is competition locally, but this doesn’t seem to have stopped the revamp of the boozer at the bottom of the curber edge Road climb…….but it don’t seem to be going too well!

I tend to agree with themuffinman, a lot of good pubs in competition with in, and it’s location in comparison to others is just a bit more of a phaff to get to. From Belper side, you would be walking past some decent boozers to get there. Equally when the Derby Brewery took over the Queens Head the people of Little Eaton had no reason to drive anywhere to get a good pint and decent pub grub. But you never know, good luck to them.

I tend to have a week off after my last race of the road racing season and then around 3-4 week’s off over December and start riding again in earnest Jan 2nd.

The week after the race season is a ‘just because I’ve earnt it’ thing, I’m not really sure of any performance pro’s or con’s. The Christmas break, I just do to catch up with family and friends, as cycling means I probably don’t do that as I should in the summer months. I probably put on about about 2-3kg in this time, but as I went into the break at 65kg, I don’t worry about it. I always feel really strong, if not quite as speedy when I start back. But since Jan 2nd, I have done three Road rides covering 44, 107 and 27 miles, things will soon be back in order. I can’t say I get bored of cycling at any point, and during my break will still have the odd social ride, and will use my hack for riding into town etc.

I got convicted of criminal damage at 19, so guy pulled a proper dangerous cross lane manoeuvre in Stockport and then pulled over and got out of his car to in his words ‘kick my face in’, as I had flipped him the bird. He realisee I was considerable more radged than he was, despite being half his size, and jumped backed in his car. But I’d fully lost in and booted off his wing mirror and attempted to put it through his windscreen. Deservedly, the Police that were passing in the other direction, intervened. It was a trip to the station and subsequent visit to the magistrates court, and nearly cost me my job. But entirely my fault, and I’ve always been deeply embarrassed by it.
Made me really focus on the fact that no matter who is ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, you can only be responsible for your own behaviour. So I guess I grew up really, the price of not doing so can be life changing in many ways. I still have some banter with driver’s but have never flipped out since.

2 doorsteps of eggy bread with maple syrup, bacon and salted caramel ice cream, all washed down with oodles of fizzy wine about half an hour ago. Prior to that I hadn’t risked anything above tea, painkillers and mouth sick. Got pro level heartburn now.

I think I may have mentioned I enjoy it. But I’m lucky to be a mid thirties very content singleton, with no money worries and can effectively give myself most of Dec/ Jan off. I’ve spent most of Dec to spending time with family, here and in Norway. Had real fun taking niece’s and nephew’s out and away, which in turn gives my kin a bit of breathing space to get sorted. I’m currently in London where I’ll be doing a week of shifts volunteering with the homeless. But before anyone thinks I’m getting all pious, I’ve turned down the hostel accommodation that came with the package, and will be staying in a rather nice hotel, as I spend the rest of the time seeking casual sex through the usual dating apps, enjoying the nightlife and entertaining that comes with. So really Christmas means family, giving, having a break, lot’s of booze and trying to get my end away. In fairness, the only difference to the rest of the year is I do less work and biking.
