I've been an RMN for the best part of 20 years, the last 16 has been assessing folk that end up in A&E self harming or going for it properly, and ime Citalopram is a first choice GP medication, that works for some, but is primarily cheap. If you want a chat mail me.

I had the same problems as those in the reviews with the rear hub. After about three months of using it the rear started slipping, up to half a crank rotation, which on one occasion caused me to chuck myself forward off the bike and resulted in some serious ball pain! Was told very bluntly that this had been caused by me using WD40 on my rear cassette. I didn't use it as lube, just a quick spray to stop my cassette rusting up, as bike lives in the shed. Part of me thought fair point, but since I had treated every other bike I had owned like this and never had any problems it still struck me a bit odd that this hub would be so troubled by this. Even when I stopped using WD on it, I was still having to crack the hub every 2 months to service it. It was a pain and I had no faith in the wheel, as it was always mid ride it would start slipping. Needless to say I don't use the wheels any longer, and the customer service put me off the company.

I make fabrics, all fabrics wear out/ and fabric coatings wear out, i'm fairly sure this is not a revelation. If you look after them they last a bit longer.

I’m glad it is working for you, but for me that that would be a ball ache of a way to solve some problems I’m not worried about (and by the sounds of it stop me going to the pub!!). I’m in no way loaded, but I find the cost of buying the odd bottle of lube nominal, I change my chains pretty regular anyway and my gears work well in almost all conditions as I set them up properly. I’m not sure I’ve even considered the issue ‘what lube is best’ I just tend to pick up whichever is in whatever bike shop I’m in and it has worked for me so far. But 8/ 10 for effort, if you had been recording the mileage you would have got a 10

    Cheers xcstu – 100mm travel, not 120mm.

Sorry wasn’t being clear, I’m happy with the 120mm of travel, but want the fork with qr not the maxle and there don’t seem to be any of them. The rs website seems to suggest the maxle is an option rather than the only version, unless I’m reading it wrong.

Been using their cheap roadie shoes for well over a year on my daily commute and general training rides in all weathers. No issues with them falling apart here, stood up just fine. The finsih isn’t quite as nice as my sidi’s, but for the money what do you expect.

Frames are design for anything up to 130mm, I ran mine with a u-turn rev and would only really winf it down on very steep climbs. Never found it overly harsh as a frame, but it was more harsh than my new soul. And there is no scandium in ’em nowadays.

Ohhh, just makes me cringe :|

Granted ‘smell_it’ is never going to look cool, but even more dashing sounding names, noooo, just like private number plates. Do those that have them also wear t-shirts with their names on? (forum or real)

Recently traded down my mtb’s, from a PA and SC Superlight to one bike, and went for a Soul and I’ve no regrets on the choice. Don’t miss either the PA or the Superlight and love the Soul, for my riding round the peak and the odd trail center I just find it ideal. But that’s just me.

Stoner – would spin anywhere between a quarter to over half a rotation and then engage again. Thicker/ more grease and it continued to slip, but lighter grease sorted it. I ended up getting rid after the second service of them, as I just didn’t trust it, and I was worrying more about the hub and not enjoying the ride.

I’ve got a pair of the function zipper shorts, nice cut for me, and after 5 months regular all is good. I’m not sure about the cool bit

I think they are lovely looking hubs, but after owning the XC wheelset, I wouldn’t be paid to have another superleggera rear. Started slipping after less than 3 months, easily sorted by a service but I didn’t want to be cracking it open every 2-3 months, and I had no confidence in the hub when out and about. Oh, and the customer service :( Was a shame really as for the first 2 months thought they were the bee knees.

Bully smaller kids and take their money, if you are going to have to invest some time into raising cash you may aswell enjoy it.

Start drinking from the moment you wake up, and continue steadily until you cannot stay concious any longer. Sleep and repeat. I predict that within weeks you will have started to effect some changes that bring some stress back into your life.

Well, I’ve used mine in the hotter european weathers, and they have been fine, not to stuffy. If you were using them indoors some non padded lycra would be needed underneath to stop knacker slap. The one guarantee is you could not look any worse than you do in tracksters  (I know they are functional, but they are a crime against the eye)

I can understand why you are unsure, doesn’t sound great, but if it’s going to make you happy – go for it

After having a ssc rear start slipping after less than 3 months, I wouldn’t trust 120-point engagement :(
