I rode my old carbon trek up and more importantly down some of the biggest hills around the UK and europe, and when it comes to descending folk seem to feel I have a screw loose. Given the 5 year beating they took, I can't say I would be to worried.

If it helps the loakes 8's I have are both F fitting, and my Church Grafton's are also F. I ordered my Church's online so took the punt and they fitted grand. Whilst I have the cash to visit my local Loake's dealer and try things on, I'm a little shy of doing the same with Church's. 8)

Well in terms of leather shoes made in Northampton; I've 3 pairs of loake's 2 are size 8, but the trapper boots I have are a 7.5 but are a wider fitting than my other shoes, a pair of John White Chelsea boots also in an 8 and my Church's brouge's are also 8. If I was ordering a pair on line, unless they were a 'wacky' design I'd be sticking with a 8 HTH :-)

Good work fella, shame about the result, but don't take it too hard. Yesterday morning whilst hunting around looking for the room I was supposed to be getting some training in, I happened upon a lass I'd worked with with about 2 years ago, we got on well at the time but I'd been her boss then so never let things get beyond the professional. But in a moment of rashness (it helps that my shame gland is under developed), I decided to have a bit of a 'chat' as I don't run into her that often nowadays, turns out she has just started seeing a chap last week so it was no to a drink, but 'it's very new' and she asked for my number. So you never know, there is never no shame in asking

Last couple of days I've ditched the bike and run in, and I did the same the week before xmas, I'm hoping it don't continue too long as I'm knackered!!!
I would like to thanks the home helps who walked nearly 5 miles through roads that were unpassable by car to help my mum and the others in her sheltered housing block, unbelievable stuff!

First off I'd have a go at discussing all 3, the foul cheek is hardly indepth medicine, the back and the depression if they are chronic recurrent/ongoing should be a script and refer on. If they really go for 'pick a problem', pick 2 or 3 and throw the cheek in at the end, and book another appointment on your way out.

In a relationship, when the sex dips something underlining is giving you a big warning signal.

I'm not sure I know any couple who go at it like they did in the first few months, but they are in good relationships. But from my previous posts my experience of this is very limited. I like Wispa's but if all I could eat for the rest of my was Wispa's, I'm not sure my desire for them would stay as intense, but I would still need them :-)

Following on from Aunty C_G's point you have to put the effort in to keep a social network running if you aren't having kids and are happy to be single. As the parents have pointed out their time becomes limited by necessity rather than choice. So as a long term single I find I have to be the one putting myself out there joining different social groups/ activities, as the friends I have that are parents come and go as their responsibilities dictate. I'm now getting to the age where a lot of my close friends that became parents are now getting their social lives back, and I'm re-establishing friendships from years ago. I think life as a lazy single would be fairly bleak, I say yes to most things and just get out there.

As long as you understand why the marriage failed, you can move forwards.

    Thanks 'Dear Deidre'

Following a crappy marriage and getting divorced at 26 I decided I would steer clear of long term relationships, whilst I thought this wouldn't last and don't rule out getting married again, I don't think I've had a relationship last much over 6 months in the last 10 years, and it's been a blast :-) But when I do finish a relationship I do generally decide to go a couple of months 'without', as I'm not really into to hopping from one to another. I tend to find the first couple of weeks without is a roller coaster ride of hormones, leering at women like a sex pest, but then all falls into balance and I don't think twice about it,…well not until the next opportunity presents! I think the key to it is just being comfy with yourself.

Stupid comments at the bottom of page "WE LOVE BIKES LIKE A FAT KID LOVES CAKE", why is it ok for companies to put this kind of crap on their web sites?

Most fat kids I've seen seem quite partial to cake, but I guess there must be some exceptions. You also excercised your right to choose, so that's good.

    Like the orange though.

My Nan's in a care home, and one of the other old girls and her have become good friends. Both are pretty confused and their communication is pretty garbled, but in their own way they offer each other a lot of comfort. We role up twice a week and over recent months we had stopped taking my Nan out for lunch and the like as they were both getting upset when seperated. Staff take them out to the pub for lunch etc, and despite being confused neither are any fuss when out, and neither require any personal care support when out. So I had the idea that we could take them both out for lunch, as both enjoy being out and about together, and we were quite happy to pay for my Nan's mate (she has no family so only has just over £20 a week for bits and bob's). But the home won't let this happen for H&S, as they can't risk assess it, police checks, no family to check with etc etc. It's a shame, but I don't really blame the home, must admit I agree whole heartedly with jon1973.

Too much perfume is a bit distasteful, as is cheap aftershave or dousing yourself in lynx. I believe a fella should have a good scent, decent shoes and be dressed right. It's generally a point of banter and mick taking both ways at work. Sounds like your work mate is a bit over sensitive, it's all horses for courses, you should dress for yourself.

Ive got 09 reba's on both my superlight(maxle) and soul(qr), both run at 120mm. I generally ride in the peak, and do a few trail centres. There is a bit of difference switching between the bikes, but after 20 mins riding I don't notice. I've found switching tyres between the bikes has made more difference to handling. Mind, I am chuffed to bits with both bikes, and can't say I'm worried about my qr in terms of confidence in it, and I'm only 66kg. As has been said above, if you are rad to gnar, or a bigger chap then the difference may be more pronounced.

So you bought a seatpost from company A, and company B will service it for you for a fee. If it is not a warranty issue, it sounds a fairly normal situation to me. If you think the price is fair go for it.

It's pretty normal in fundraising for charities that third parties take a fee, but I do think claiming 100% goes to said charity is a piss take. It seems an odd sales pitch, as it will put folk off.

Nice buy, and good spec, my mate rides an 09 ltd team and it's a lovely looking bike in the flesh. For the money, I'd have gone for the carbon lovelyness of the http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Focus_Raven_2009/5360037556/, but some don't like carbon ,and the manitou fork would be a minus.

I really don't feel this story benefits from folk embellishing it, but I would like it bumped until TJ explains his crime V punishment scale.
